So I got a android phone the other day. Any starter tips you guys got for me to get the most out of it?

What did you pick up?

Tons of hints and tips out there on the net, so give it a quick Google. Plenty of articles offer all different kinds of tricks.

Finished tlou on grounded. Admittedly switched to any lower mode on that one huge fight with the infected with ellie/david. Kind of regret that now since I missed the achieve due to that lol. Oh well... Overall I have gripes but it's definitely around 9/10 game for the most part. Ai is fucked at times and I swear sometimes people have eyes on the back of their heads near the end especially runners. No matter how slow, they hear you. I just feel that the shift in alertness from beginning and mid game to end is messed up tbh. It doesn't help that too many scenes already start in higher alert near the end, and sometimes the stages just don't fit completely well with stealth. Firefights are bound to happen and you may not know if a certain scenario fits with stealth all that well until you die a couple of times. Objectives and way to go also have this trial and error as well.

I know this game supposed to be a survival/ use anything available to get through, but I feel that if a part has stealth, then it should stick by it better instead of basically putting you into a situation mid stealth where you can tell it's not specifically built for sneaking around.

@lundy86_4: nothing too big, I got a cheap Virgin Mobile Reef for $50. Finally made the smartphone jump, but the thing I'm most looking forward too is developing apps for it.

Nice, I just grabbed the HTC One M8... Smartphones are the way to go, for sure. Everything is just 10x easier.

What kinda apps are you looking to develop?

@lundy86_4: I want to start out making a note taker app with an alarm for memos. Sure it's probably been done before, but i think I can do it better, plus it's something easy to start building experience.

how are you gonna get the desktop here? I wouldn't trust baggage handlers at an airport with a desktop.

If the desktop is well put together and screwed tight, it will be hard to rattle it around to the point of damaging it beyond repair. I've never done that before but I'm guessing labeling the box correctly will improve handling. I remember hearing that putting "fragile" on the box will do absolutely nothing, but something else will, can't remember what it was.

Even so, if it does fall apart; PCs nowadays are like legos, you can just put them back together.

oh yeah you're going for triple screens 2ndwonder? and it sounds like you're waiting for an active displayport adapter - that old chestnut!

i've run eyefinity with a 1650x1050, 1920x1080, & 1440x900; so i think i got 5010x900. good in some games, like racing games. i didn't mess about with it too much, but it was pretty sweet. glad i gave myself the experience (all the monitors were lying around, I just had to buy the active displayport adapter)

i'm pretty happy with one monitor at 144 fps. i like frames more than pixels. but triple screens are pretty damn sweet.

Gonna test a few racing games and what I have on steam. Sounds like you liked it for the most part. I got a handful of monitors recently from the local listings for cheap, so why not try it? :P
I would love to try out 120 or 144. I really want to move up to 1440p more than anything honestly. This might be the next best thing until I can save up for one.

That means they would be working for gamestop. Which I like the gameinformer sub that they offer.

two active display port adapters? not a bad idea. pretty handy things to have around. my 144 hz monitor has displayport, which is pretty baws.

yeah i did like it for the most part. multi monitor, i can handle the bezels OK. it's certainly a cost effective way to get more pixels. yeah man that's exactly why i tried it as well, i had the monitors lying around, i ended up getting a 5770 which could support 3 monitors - so i gave it a shot. 1440p would be sweet. i am keen on displays of 1440p or greater, but only if they can hit 75 Hz as a minimum.

is there a monitor available that does 2160p60 (4k@60Hz, through displayport 1.2 of course), and >60 hz at 1080p, like 120 Hz? such a monitor would be awesome, because there would be in built flexibility.

@lundy86_4: right? I don't like the way the notes app and reminders app on ios are separate. I would be essentially combining them. I also like the way Android uses widgets on the home page. I want to learn how to make them. I would put the memo the user creates on the widget so it displays when you access the homepage. Man I better start writing these ideas down! Lol
