@lostrib:
You should feel ashamed.

@lostrib:
You should try it out. It's my favorite set of Telltale episodes.
I personally think TWD is way better.
Huh every game needs shovel knight.
Though seriously DarkSeasGames I hope you guys can fix the animations before Q3 2015 release. It looks painful.
Why does Pit get Codec Calls in Smash Bros?
Because he's in Metal Gear Solid V.
I knew I heard his voice somewhere before.
Happy birthday @Blabadon.
Also, how does it feel for the Pistons to be free of the cancer that is Josh Smith?
It's honestly amazing. Great post birthday gift and thanks man!
@Blabadon: Happy Birthday man.
Happy b-day, Blab.
Thanks folks :)
Going through The Walking Dead (Telltale) Season 2, it makes me wonder why we haven't seen many, if any, games of its type from Japan. It seems like a natural evolution for shorter, less text-heavy visual novels. Other story-dependant games could work too. Silent Hill, for example, would stop controlling like ass. Wonder how Silent Hills is gonna turn out...
Also (Episode 1 spoiler) self-surgery is painful to watch, let alone do. Damn, Clem.

Oh, and happy birthday, Bubbles.
Anybody got thoughts on Papers, Please"?
Might grab it on steam sale.
Loved the oppressive atmosphere, loved being an equally oppressive border guard. Enjoyment of the second part varies depending on how much you like bureaucracy.

No thank you
From the little I know about Silent Hill, I have to agree. Mechanics contribute to atmosphere. Fucking with that would be like giving sonic physics to Mario. Shit starts to break.
So is it me, or is the PS4 preparing itself to have an amazing 2015 in Japan? Besides all the games they've announced (TGS, Jump Festa, etc) they also have 5 new PS4 themed consoles ( 1 FF Type-0 console, 2 Yakuza consoles with each one coming in either black or white), all of them coming in Spring.
It seems like they are doing a serious effort to win that market. Lets see if it'll pay off!

Silent Hill's atmosphere doesn't come from mechanics, it comes from the surroundings. They wouldn't be affected at all.
But if you mean taking away bad controls would take away from horror as you're no longer as helpless, I'd like to point out that The Walking Dead Season Two has you playing as a little girl. Trust me, she can't do much.
No thank you
I wonder how many people said that to Shinji Mikami during Resident Evil 4's development. Y'know, one of your most favourite games (and should be one of everyone's). Not controlling like ass didn't affect the horror segments at all. In fact, the controls made them better. The dog maze couldn't have been done without the potential to miss, Regenerators up in your face couldn't have been done with the old camera style, and the monks are damn creepy no matter what.
But to repeat an earlier point, combat has little to do with what makes Silent Hill work.
Wow. I feel dumb. I didn't realize until I just watched Kevin VanOrd's top games of 2014 video that The Wolf Among Us is based on Fables
Really bro? I thought it was pretty self explanatory :P
Hey, i said it was dumb of me :P
No, I just honestly never looked up any info about it. All I knew was that it was a telltale game about a werewolf
So that ending of Legend of Korra.
Pretty Ballsy IMO.
Not really ballsy, just a cop out to please a certain fanbase Korrasami on tumblr since the series has been going down hill since mid series 3. The sad thing is the series will now be remembered for that ending not cause it was good but what the writers made Korra do which was complete out of the blue (and lame in a writing sense).
@Stevo_the_gamer: is there a reason you decided to go with a microATX board?
I could see some ways to save money in there.
But otherwise that looks pretty awesome. The R5 looks like a nice case
No particular reason, but I do like the smaller boards when it comes to building and cable management (why I also love fully modular PSUs). But I'm a big fan of reading Tom's Hardware, and it was well received there.
Man, both Steam and PSN have had really disappointing sales this christmas.
PSN had a sale? :P
I think the steam one has been decent, it's just that the longer you're on steam/larger your library the less enticing the sales are
No. No it did not.
My steam library is comparatively small to most. Only 39 games strong. But at the summer sale, that was the result of doubling my library. Not as much is interesting me this time.

Could that be due to having a backlog now?
Having a lot of games still to play really decreases my likeliness to buy games because I know I wont get to them
@lostrib: Perhaps. But my backlog is sitting on consoles.
It dosn't help that I have to be careful with making sure my purchases will actually run on my MacBooks. No gaming PC to speak of.
Phew, after a long month of travelling around, packing and unpacking, I think I'm definitely settled down and organized enough to start posting here again.
Hmmm, so I checked some things out, first thing I noticed is that this place has acquired new moderators! Wow, congratulations to those who got selected. :)
I wonder if I'll ever get selected? So far my guess is maybe I haven't been active enough yet. (However I do feel I should mention that it seems like I noticed a few users here and there, that are moderators and looked like they got appointed quite a while ago, that seem to only post on this site minimally on rare occasions.)
@darkspineslayer: oooo macbook gaming. Don't burn your legs off
It's not as bad with the pro from school, but I also can't have Windows on that one.
I've learned a long time ago that I can't run games on my Air while resting it on my lap :P

I still find it ballsy.
Lol
Banned from NeoGAF on my first day. Gg
Sounds like Neogaf is a lot like Gamefaqs in terms of moderator/administration corruption. Actually, probably even worse. I've usually been just hearing about dumb as hell moderations from Gamefaqs and not usually dumb as hell actual bans.

Yeah, GameFAQs is equally thin-skinned, though they suffer from an assload of alts, so I cut them slack.

I still find completely random and written poorly. Also it's really not ballsy since it's literally the cool thing to do now in other forms of media like videogames and comics (like Bioware games and TLOU Left Behind). I'm fine with love stories like Korrasami but it felt sooooooo random and forced it just left me scratching my head like wtf?
Started watching hunter x hunter.... I think it was a mistake. :(
I personally didn't like the anime.
Speaking of anime, I finished watching Bleach and now I'm reading the manga.
I've seen some parts of certain episodes of Bleach, but sadly I never really got into it. :P I definitely know I love FullMetal Alchemist and Cowboy Bebop though. :D I remember seeing episodes of those on Toonami all the time back in Spring - Summer 2012. Toonami was on every Saturday Nights on CN, not sure if it still is though. Also, perhaps my most favorite anime back then that I saw, that also seemed short-lived with lack of episodes, was an anime called Deadman Wonderland.
