Holy shit, I think I need try out Darkest Dungeon. The hype behind this game is unreal. its currently a top seller in steam. Anyone got opinions about the game?

Went to my local GS today to order CE of Mortal Kombat X with the EPIC Scorpion statue when I noticed they were demoing majora's mask along with the new 3DS.XL

I didn't notice much about the new 3DS XL except the extra"C" stick which was nice,

The demo of majora's mask was pretty cool and I think it might of swayed me to buy it.

I ended up getting some free swag too, a majora's mask paper mask and a Smash button.

Titanfall is wickedly fun. Got deluxe edition for $15, which turned out to be a worth purchase indeed.

On my travels today I managed to sell a bunch of old DVDs and get a $20 eShop card and a copy of Paper Mario Sticker Star for only $17.

Time will tell if this game is terrible or decent. So far it's been okay, not great.

Wife wants to get me an Xbox One for my birthday in a couple months. Really stoked to soon be playing Halo again. ^_^

So, reading reader requested guest stars for MKX on Game Informer. Only two major ones I have in mind in regards to game characters.

Solid Snake (mostly to see codecs for MK characters)

Bayonetta (she'd have more of a home there than say... SMASH 4, where it was rumored she'd appear alongside Sonic, only to have that rumor half-true)

Hit me up when you do so we can get customs going. Haven't played the game in a couple months, and would love to get back into it.

@Stevo_the_gamer: I definitely will! I've been dying to play some Halo after the favorite level thread, and since I sold my 360 a while back I've been missing out on the greatness! :p

And if anyone is wanting to play Destiny on PS4, I'm up for some gaming. I have a level 13 character right now and on Venus. Playing through with a friend but wouldn't mind either starting a new character or progressing even higher to do more strikes and to try a raid. ^_^

It seems to be getting more negative reviews now. I skimmed through some of them and they're all saying that the gameplay is unbalanced and apparently "too difficult". Personally, I really like the art style they used for the game so design wise that's no problem but I'm still skeptical about purchasing it or not. Then again, it was mentioned that your performance doesn't matter much since there's luck involved apparently...

So this game has luck and frustration thrown at you... doesn't sound all that fun now.

Know when to hold and when to fold.

Yes, there's a bit of luck involved in Darkest Dungeon. Any stat-based game will have luck as a factor. Roughly two-thirds of the way through though, I'd say the odds are generally in your favor and, when they aren't, you can always run. As you learn more about the game - proper party setups, what supplies to bring, the enemies you should prioritize, etc. - you'll be running less and less. Haven't failed a quest in quite a while, actually.

Edit: AHAHAHAHA, THEY'RE MAKING THE GAME HARDER.

If it's about possibly getting shafted six months from now, I'd say there's very, very little chance of that happening judging by what they've delivered so far. It's great -- and there's still more to come. Also quite stable unlike some games on their official launch. *Glares at last year's 'AAA' releases*

Quite nice. Like the perspective reversal compared to the first game's box art.

It's more I'm not paying for Early Access. Zero tolerance for it.

When the game is released proper I'll give it a go.

On week 3 in Darkest Dungeon, have to say DD might be the best indie game since Hotline Miami.

@lostrib: You'll see big doors with bosses inside, take those down when you're leveled enough.

okay, i've mostly just been hopping around and then i'll occasionally hop into some room where i don't belong and a giant eyeball will murder me

@lostrib: Copy pasted from another thread, my tips for RL

1) Your sword is the only attack type there is. Know its range, how far it can hit through a wall, what boosts are on it, etc.

2) Learn your enemies and where they get tougher. Some enemies can go through walls, some can't but can still hit through them. The easiest area is the castle you start in, then the forest on the right, then the area above the castle, then the area below.

3) Have money hoarding runs. Clear the castle first, then the areas in order of difficulty. Don't waste money on reducing Charon's toll or on classes like the Spelunker. If it sounds useless, it probably is. The Barbarian is my favorite money hoarding class.

4) HIT EVERYTHING. Cash comes easily this way and you learn what's an enemy, how far you can jump, etc. If there's ever two statues in a small rectangular room, they always have a chicken leg and potion. Use these wisely.

5) Use the Architect and Teleporter for bosses. If you're underleveled, money hoard, upgrade, and try again.

Otherwise, enjoy. It's not a game with a huge amount of depth but it's still highly enjoyable. Once you're done with it, try Spelunky and get your ass kicked for real.

It already kicked mine and I haven't even gotten halfway into the game.

No game teaches you better in a 2D space than Spelunky. Each death is a learning experience.

Anyone want a guest pass for Red Orchestra 2 HoS (PC game)? I have 3. It basically lets you play the full game for a limited time.

That's all fine and dandy, but according to the same people that claim the above it seems white people do have one extra (and exclusive!) feature which would imply that they are indeed different and not the same as non-white people :D

@lostrib: The issue is that it stems from there, but it spreads elsewhere :S And in the very easily brainwashed audience we have today, some dangerously twisted definitions (like racism apparently now being something that must be institutionalised and systemic to be considered as such) are becoming (seemingly) widely accepted. This is the definition used to imply racism is a colour (read: white) exclusive feature.

Ah well. Thankfully history books are still a thing.

Its messing with your perspective dude. The box on the back is making the cab seem bigger than it actually is. The bumper area is actually the widest part of the truck.
