I'll admit I get a chuckle out of reading this stuff this early in the morning, has made my train ride more enjoyable.

Star Wars: The Force Awakens reviews are out, 97% certified fresh on Rottentomatoes. Confirmed not a flop.

It was 99% earlier today. The rating is falling.

Saw Star Wars: The Force Awakens with a friend. The 3D version.

It wasn't offensive like Ep. 1 and 2 were, but I was bored throughout. Very mediocre film, but better than I expected, so there is that.

• Excellent performance from Finn, who captured the cheesy nature of Star Wars.
• Very little personality and character development throughout. What was there felt very wooden and very prone to overreacting. They were overselling certain points, and kept pushing them, even after it was obvious the first time.
• A lot of the events felt rather forced, others I feel added little of value, if any value at all.
• Some characters had very little personality. Outside of the villain, Finn and Rey, I cant really recall anything concerning the characters outside of their role in the plot.
• Plot felt very rehashed from Episode 4. One thing I frequently muttered to myself was "Oh look its this again" or "Hey look its X 2.0".
• Which in turn resulted in a very predictable plot. Everything I predicted came true, and I predicted every single plot point. Not only that, but I could predict the circumstances leading to every plot point as well.
• The force was handled like a mystical force of nature brinigng back the mysticism that was lacking form episodes 1-3.
• Likewise, Lightsabers actually felt like they meant something again.
• A lack of green screen and a shortage of CGI was definately for the better.
• The 3D didnt add anything to the movie, but didnt get in the way either. Overall, I felt it was unnecessary. It worked for Avatar where it contributed to the feeling of a large scope and scale, to make the areas feel big. But nothing in the Force Awakens needs the 3D. As it didnt bank on the large scale of the world like Avatar did (a lot of corridors and more cramped interiors and greater focus on a central point i the world)
• Internal conflict with itself whether it wanted to be serious or cheesy.

I've been hooked on system wars lately... Mostly it's because looking at the news in my free time makes me depressed... Figure I'd rather fight with my system wars friends. :D.

Anyone expecting any gaming loot for xmas?

I expect a lot of gaming related gifts from my friends as i made sure i let them all know thats what i wanted lol

i been doing some gift purchases too but i really suck at buying gifts ever since i was a kid, i just never know what to buy but i may just do what i do every year.. gift cards lol

@finalstar2007: I'm a shitty gift giver too man... Lol thank God for the gift card. I'm going to be getting the Witcher 3 and battlefront for xmas.... The kids and I will have a blast with battlefront and the Witcher will be my obsession after fallout I think.

Salt the fries even made a tekken 7 is not exclusive thread. I think he should take a look at his posting history and see how salty and paranoid he looks. Brand loyalty does this much to you? i sometimes think how do these people function in real life. It's just a piece of hardware to play games on.

Guy needs a serious break to relax a bit. Maybe go eat some KFC or spend more time with his family as I hear he got married.

I have a question for anyone who's played and finished Final Fantasy 10.

I'm 19 hours in and I'm at the part where they crash Yuna and Seymour's wedding at Bevelle. Just did the Evrae boss fight. Anyway, my question is, am I playing this a bit too fast? I've read the story is at least like 40 hours long, can even go up to 70. Am I close to the end? How many hours away I am, approximately? What the hell is going on?

Gonna see the film Saturday. Honestly surprised by how many openings there are within like a week period. Thought it'd be sold out through and through for like two weeks.

Although I havent played the game in awhile. I pretty much played X around the PS2 launch.

I'd say you're about 3/5th through the game. You end up back in Macalania woods and after that gain access to the biggest zone in the game that opens up some of the side content, you'll see a side dungeon, a hub with the monster capture tracking and the next area has another optional side dungeon that unlocks an optional summon. There's probably about 5-6 areas from where you are that directly lead towards the conclusion of the game.

Btw. Not surprised at the reception and the spoiler trolling in a videogame forum. Star Trek has always sucked.

@finalstar2007: I just can't bring myself to enjoy fate stay night. I started Zero couple months back and was so bored by what's going on. Really boring dialogue but the voice acting was just great. So many great talents that I recognise from other animes. If I want to watch an anime that has lots of dialogue, it better be interesting. Fate failed to be interesting. Maybe wrong timing. I'll give the series another shot sometime.

Luckily I picked it up recently for $30 but still haven't gotten around to playing it yet. I think I have almost all the good Wii U games now, with the exception of a few like Lego City Undercover. That game never dropped below $40 I don't think.

Oh, I started watching Jessica Jones. Five episodes in. Pretty good so far, if a little rough around the edges. Anyway, I don't get how people can claim this is better than Daredevil. DD was god-tier.

My Xenoblade Special Edition has arrived and will remain unopened until I finish the prequel and have a lot of time for it.

I'll get as many WiiU games I can get before they become ultra rare. Pikmin 3 is freaking expensive so I might save up for it and I buy it in January. Bayonetta I made sure to get day one and only played the first for an hour before shelving my WiiU. I'm in for a great time when I will get the chance to play these many games. And if NX is BC it would be even better.

It's going to take over My life and I need a vita version too so that I can play it on the move. That's what made P4G even more awesome.

It's insane. I get that they're very small and this is their first HD game ever, but still, they shouldn't have announced it for 2014, and then 2015, if they weren't sure they'd be meeting the release date.
