Yeah its opening from the vita game but the scenes sort of give a hint to the upcoming heavens feel, they should just do a series rather than a movie since i hear heavens feel is far longer

Wildly unimpressed when stacked against the praise it gets? Or just in general?

I played it before it had a psychotic cheerleader squad backing it as the best thing ever.

It made me laugh and liked the characters. Two things I can rarely say about video games. It also has some dope music. Gameplay? Eh, it's alright I guess. I thought it was 10 bucks well spent and nothing more. It entertained me more than some full price games last year. But "10/10, OMG BEST GAME EVAR, BEST STORY EVER, ARRGGGHHHHH!!!!", nah, those peeps just don't like video games.

It's praise is irrelevant to me.

The game has incredibly well done characters, it's funny, the music is rad, but the playing it part is whatever. The bullet hell combat is interesting for a bit, doing the game all pacifist style hasn't exactly been all that exciting, if anything I would have enjoyed killing things more with the one time i got to use attack just to see how it works. The do conversations in Planescape run is fantastic, because it is legit intelligent, you need to pay attention to so many things to actually pass some of those segments. Undertale is more basic shit, quick check, and then react, and dodge, and we run it out until I can spare properly.

It sounded cooler to me than it ended up playing : (

Yep, that about says it all man. Outside of gameplay it does some cool stuff, but the pacifist stuff, no matter how charming and witty it may be, is ultimately just too damn simple for its own good.

I still dig the game, it's just not what it's been propped up to be.

So Star Wars didn't even get a nomination for best picture. Not sure it would have deserved/won it, but it definitely should have been a top contender. Plus no mention of John Boyega, Harrison Ford, or Daisy Ridley for best actors/actress. Like okay. Also, no Creed nominations if I recall at all. So The Revenant which I'm sure is good gets like 12 and it has been out for such a short time (not even as critically acclaimed as other films). So basically... I'm salty.

Meh, Star Wars doesn't need Oscars :P The new main trio of actors will now be forever known thanks to this trilogy, and the franchise makes so much money that awards are literally just a nice "bonus" if they do happen.

The Revenant is a significantly better movie than the force awakens, the more ridiculous snub is Creed.

Sat down to play The Phantom Pain, thinking I'd stop after 20-30 minutes. Literally had to force myself to stop three hours later.

Man, I have such confusingly mixed feelings for this game.

The only movies that got nominated for Best picture that I see possibly winning is Mad Max, Martian, and Revenant. I'd also lower it down to Mad Max and Martian, but then it becomes muddled. Mad Max is like the Phantom Pain of movies, great action and beautiful scenery, but the plot is just kind of... There. Not important at all. Martian, which I'll see tonight has beautiful cinematography and a great science fiction plot, probably light on the actual action however.

@khoofia_pika: play some more. You'll come to realise that it's a flawed masterpiece. Just imagine if Kojima had his way with this one. It would be GOTG material. I still say MGSV is worthy of GOTY nomination simply for its gameplay. It has set a new standard for sandbox stealth games and I see many future games taking inspiration from it. It's already happening with TW3 as according to rumours, Ubisoft is taking inspiration from it in world design and quests. Let's just see how well it actually does since AC series has become a mix of disappointment and sudden success. Basically Ubisoft throwing shit on the wall and seeing what sticks and just goes along with it lol.

Music is good, characters are good, game is funny, and it's only 10 bucks... those are the redeeming qualities to me. Gameplay isn't bad, but it's not going to define the experience.

Scum saving? Come on now, the only way getting around that is to not give them an option to save that way. It be like discrediting the value of losing squad members in Xcom or a Fire Emblem game because the player can be a pusswagon. Otherwise yes those conversations are absolutely well thought out. You are high.

@ConanTheStoner: so it's pretty much overhyped by most people. I see people requesting let's players on YouTube to play it all the time.

I think I'll wait for a 3DS version or a console version. No rush here.

I have a hard time believing you never save scummed in an RPG. It's one of the biggest flaws in Western RPGs, allowing you to revert choices instantly without penalty. And yeah, more RPGs should force you to stick with your choices without giving them the option to reload. Probably wouldn't work for a game like Planescape, PC games were buggy as **** back then.

XCOM and Fire Emblem is not even remotely related to this. There is a challenge to overcome in those games. Reloading a save isn't a guarantee that a mission will go perfectly. You can still lose characters a second time if you **** up. It's also a huge time commitment, so many are willing to carry on even when they lose major characters. They don't want to keep doing the same tasks over and over. Planescape is literally reloading the last 30 seconds and making a different decision on a dialogue tree. Yes, I know those conversations are well done, but the organic feel is lost when you can revert those decisions in an instant. Just because save scumming isn't justified in the story or game world doesn't mean it isn't a flaw. It's easily accessible by the player at all times. Don't be crazy.
