I was going to vote CT but then I saw the salt and voted for TW3.
Lol this is going to be fun
I hope that Amiibo thread doesn't harm my Twilight Princess HD hype thread. I have big things being set in motion for that.
Z I wouldn't worry about it, you got a loooong time for Zelda Wii U to be release and that thread about Amiibos will be forgotten by the time Legend of Zelda Wii U release like around 3Q/4Q 2016 is my best guess. TBH, I find QuietRaven's thread to be a interesting discussion.
@Blabadon, what version of Chrono Trigger did you play again?
Please don't let it have been the PSN/PS1 version.

He's not talking about Zelda U, though, he's talking about Twilight Princess.
@davillain-: I'm less worried about the hype thread itself and more about the backlash seen with the Wolf/Midna Amiibo that you may need to unlock a new, extra dungeon in Twilight Princess HD.
This is a special hype thread and I can't have weenies ruining it. >_<
Random Nintendo fan musing:
Out of curiosity, I did a quick check on the file sizes for some WiiU games (and by some I mean most of them).
Bayonetta 2 = 15 GB
Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker = 2 GB
Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze = 11 GB
Hyrule Warriors = 8 GB
Mario Kart 8 = 5 GB
New Super Mario Bros. U & New Super Luigi U = 14 GB
Pikmin 3 = 5 GB
Splatoon = 2 GB
Super Mario 3D World = 2 GB
Super Mario Maker = 1 GB
Super Smash Bros. for Wii U = 16 GB
The Wonderful 101 = 13 GB
Xenoblade Chronicles X = 21 GB
Yoshi's Wooly World = 8 GB
------------
123 GB across 14 games
Note 1: Heavy rounding involved.
Note 2: DLC unfactored.
My findings? If you wanted to, you could -almost- fit everything worth a damn into a single 120GB SSD going for $60 CAD. Well, if the WiiU accepted internal hard drives anyway. Brings me to the NX and what Nintendo might do for that. Figure they're crazy enough to think about making SSDs standard. Could be the next "Goddamnit, Nintendo" move as you'd be lucky to fit two games from other developers into the same space these days.
Still, if you're willing to compress the ever-living shit out of a game, can make great use of partial installs, or just make relatively small games, you could get sub-second load times for the average theoretical NX game, sub-second load times being the most amazing thing ever next to G-Sync or so I'm told.
As a side benefit, forced small game sizes would benefit anyone wanting to go all-digital but has to deal with data caps. Worth not putting $60 CAD into stronger hardware and going with a standard HDD on top of potentially alienating everyone for the umpteenth time, maybe?
MGS4 is still awesome. Each act was pretty awesome to play whenever you were given control over it. Act 1 and 2 provided some of the best gameplay in the series and I still go back to play those parts. Those two acts are what I wanted from MGS4 and the rest of the game to be. Loved the amount of gameplay you could do there but unfortunately it didn't do that. MGS4 just didn't have enough gameplay. Act 3 was awful on repeated playthroughs and I just disliked the tail mission then Eva long ass cutscene. Then a terrible boss fight. I liked ocelot character in that scene. Totally different than the calm collected smug ocelot from MGSV lol. Then comes act 4 and the return to shadow Moses in a modern graphics was a beautiful sight to see. Loved the robot focused level and totally stealthing that part felt great too. Vamp boss fight was what I expected but funny thing is I got stuck then figured it out after killing him over 100 times lol. Blame my English at the time I couldn't comprehend what otacon was telling me to do lol. Then the fight with Ray was pure mech awesomeness and the cutscene afterwards was just so well done no matter how stupid it looked when raiden blocked that ship. Then comes act 5 which I thought was pretty good. Enemies corner you and you have to show what you have learned and either hide and sneak behind through or stand ground and end them. It was great with a sniper rifle. Then a load of cutscenes and then the most pure fan service moment of awesomeness ever. That fist fight with MGS themes playing and the graphics and everything was just amazing. Goosebumps all over man. The ending was about an hour and half long lol but it was great seeing an end to the metal gear story line.
I think people are too harsh on it despite all the valid criticism I still love this game and enjoy it a lot and it's better MGS game than V will ever be. I enjoy all the cheesy stuff and nano machines and all that crap lol. MGS4 is certainly not a 10 too.
MGSV as a game is way better no question but I still appreciate IV and enjoy it and will replay it anytime and still enjoy it. Except for act 3.
Also I just ordered TP HD and Chrono Trigger as well. I won't play them this year probably lol.
Also I still can't find FE Fates special edition.
I feel like I'm on acid. The bad part.
Feel like your whole body, particularly your back, neck and abs, got hit by an 18 wheeler and are now going through rigormortis?
Feel like every time you blink, you're watching a polaroid image come into focus in fast forward?
Feel like all food tastes like plastic?
Feel like your mouth is an ash tray?
Grinding your teeth?
Focusing on all the negative aspects of life, periodically snapping out of it in fits of paranoia?

Sounds like a good time to me! :D
Also I still can't find FE Fates special edition.
It's no wonder, that sold out within an hour online back when they announced it during the Nintendo Direct.
In fact, some pre-orders from Gamestop were cancelled due to popularity and limited quantities.
Are we gonna circlejerk about how people haven't played Planescape
Hey, what r u doin bud.
That's my line.
Edit: Also, you're not supposed to say that c word! You can get modded for it.
I feel like I've napped at Cosby's.
Then it would seem that my post wasn't too far off the mark. Guess I left out sore butts though, sorry.
Don't know if anyone here watches football (or "soccer" as a lot of you plebs would call it) but LOL LIVERPOOL.
So guys anyone did a Big Boss Emblem run in MGS4?
Also the most difficult MGS game imo would have to be MGS2 on European extreme or MGS3.
Now that I'm done with Dark Souls 2 and will be resuming MGSV and after it I decided to go back to MGS4 because of people reminding me of how I liked that game.
Is it shit-on-SW day?

Just out of curiosity, when was the last time you played MGS4?
@khoofia_pika: when the trophy patch came out. I reached act 3 and then just dropped it. Just because I hate act 3 and think it's one of the worst levels ever.
If this is about me playing it long time ago then I should clarify that no matter how many times I replayed MGS4 pre patch, I really enjoyed it. I even liked drebin little stories which I know a lot of people hated the overemphasis in MGS4 but I enjoyed it just because I never really took it seriously to begin with. I'm a more forgiving and less critical about games that I like. I'm one of the people who loved GTA4 too. Although I have become more critical and opinionated person, I still care about enjoying something than nitpicking every little detail and ruin my experience. I used to be a huge fanboy of both these games and wore rose tinted glasses when it came to discussing their negatives but as time passed and better games release, i started to see their faults but I still enjoy playing and appreciate them for what they are and the time they released in.
@a-new-guardian: That is exactly why I was asking lol. But fair enough, it's not like MGS4 is a bad game by any stretch of the imagination. To be honest, I don't dislike MGS4 either. I do think that gameplay-wise it's a really good game (even if the gameplay sections seem criminally underused), and Acts 3 and 4 are hardly where I think the game should have gone after the first two acts, which, as you mentioned, are excellent. Also, that final fight against Liquid at the end is one of my favourite moments in the Metal Gear franchise.
I just think that it is heavily outdone by other games in the series in every aspect- by MGS2 and 3 when it comes to the story and by MGS5 when it comes to the actual gameplay.
Oh, and I really enjoyed GTA4 too. I still really like it, actually. I've grown to like it a lot less than I did when I first played it, but I still think it's a good game.
@khoofia_pika: I 100% agree with you.
I also still enjoy GTA4 mainly for the story and characters now. At the time of release though, I loved everything about it because there was no open world like it with amazing physics and of course new Gen hype and new GTA. Controls still suck ass though lol.
@khoofia_pika: sure but at least the knight enchanter and archers are fast, deal tons of damage and have fun abilities to play around with. The gameplay is super dumbed down and tedious though
Archer is somewhat enjoyable, mostly because it makes the combat slightly more tactical in terms of positioning and stuff.
But, nah, when I think back on DA:I, I can't help but feel disappointed. I liked the game when I was playing it, but when I look back at it now, it just feels like such a disappointment. Like BioWare only put in half the amount of effort into every aspect of the game.
Rise of the Tomb Raider was damn good. I was hooked on it all the way through.
That makes me 2 for 3 on my 2016 resolutions now. Those resolutions are:
Just gotta finish that book and I'm 1/12 of the way through 2016!
*Does not include graphic novels.

What books are you planning on reading?
@khoofia_pika: I don't have the entire year planned out, but my first few months are:
I just don't read enough. I get wrapped up in too many other things whether it's games, TV and movies, hanging out with friends, etc. But I need to read more, hence the goal. ^_^
@Zassimick: The Name of the Wind is a wonderful book. I read it last year, absolutely loved it. I'm planning on reading The Wise Man's Fear (Book 2) sometime this month.
Also, if you're into fantasy, you should really try Brandon Sanderson's books. He somehow manages to play on the expected cliches in the fantasy genre very well, and his books always come together wonderfully in their final acts. He plans each story out so meticulously, when you look back after finishing one of his books and notice all the details, it just makes the ending that much more satisfying. And that's been the case with every book of his I've read so far.
