I found the interesting people find more excitement out of SW than they do GGD, there just isn't as much hype there and its really lax.

It really is, this is what they should have launched to begin with. Also, yeah, that shit gets scratches like bees on honey.

I think the final boss is legitimately genius, but that's the extent of it- it seems to have been a last minute thing.

That said, it has a few good ideas, and I want to see them develop the concept in the sequel.

GGD is a trashy, spammy wasteland these days. The system specific boards are ghost towns too, and ot is message board diarrhea. SW is the last bit of anything worthwhile on GS.

Why play Super Metroid on shitty 3DS hardware when you can play it on Wii U?

Well, the big reason is that if I have a choice, I'll always play something on a handheld. Not too into stationary console gaming anymore.

Plus, the New 3DS XL is hardly shitty hardware- it's really good, I personally think it's the best handheld hardware Nintendo have ever put out (though I hear the regular New 3DS is even better). I like playing on it, personally feel it is at least as good feeling as Vita 2000 feels in my hands (though of course, the Vita 2000 still has a better screen).

I probably will- though any purchase has to wait till pay day at the end of the month.

Right now I'm going back and forth between it and Ratchet.

Why I decided to give FFX HD a try while I'm already buried in games, I'll never know.

But I've realized two things about this game.

1. I have to be incredibly fucking stoned to enjoy it. In that sense it's becoming a costly game to play. Nah, seriously though, I'm in the meat of the game now and it's all good, but I needed motivation for that opening stretch.

2. I would have much rather played a game about Braska, Jecht, and Auron on their pilgrimage. Braska seems like a cool dude with a good sense of humor. Jecht is just way the **** cooler than Tidus, even with his douchebag tendencies. Hell, that stuff just adds to his character anyways. And a young uptight Auron getting butthurt over Jechts actions would be more interesting than old grizzled Auron guiding the way.

Apparently the new "thing" in Splatoon is to just stop playing mid-match when things don't go your way in ranked matches.

The opposing side gets the initial 20-30 point lead? They've won. Clearly. I'll just sit at the base and do nothing until they finish their win. Because there's just NO WAY we can ever push back and win in the end. Screw the rest of my teammates who are still struggling hard to make a comeback.

I'd rather they just disconnect and screw us all out of points in that case.

Can't really say I'm surprised; before it used to be just straight up disconnects. It sucked just as bad but at least everyone got screwed over in that case, us and them.

But I also can't say it doesn't upset me enough to make me want to stop playing almost immediately. People are shit heads, just like you said. That's what makes me play single player games over multiplayer, and why a preference for multiplayer baffles me personally.

A good multiplayer experience is the pinnacle of gaming. But a bad one is also the worst of gaming. Multiplayer games have higher highs, and lower lows.

That's the trade-off. You will never be as challenged in terms of raw skill as you are in a game like Counter Strike, or Dota, and if that's what you crave it can be worth the risk that the occasional game sucks dirty, sweaty, smelly, doodoo diapers.

In Dota 2 they stopped this by having a queue pool for people who disconnect often. It is called low priority so they have a pool of a bunch of losers + people with bad connection and then a pool of people with potential disconnecters but as many because the rest are in low priority.

I forgot that my 3DS still has a copy of A Link Between Worlds in it... School is killing me. I'm behind on Xbone, PS4, PC, and now 3DS games.

Not every thread, LTO can still make fun threads, but yeah in general, especially the PC frauds that make threads.

I've been tossing up the idea of making threads about why game storytelling doesn't have to suck dirty duke, and a thread seeking to get people to question how they actually came to hold the perspectives they hold on what games are good or not. Not necessarily what their favorite games are, but rather what their favorite brands and developers are. Seems appropriate for this forum, and it's something I've thought about myself in regards to some comments I've made recently.

Only problem is the they seem like either a lot of work, or that the message won't come across clearly, so I have held off.

This forum sucks for any elaborate game discussion, that isn't a random hijack here and there. Neogaf, that thread would get some traction. System Wars reads a Carolyn Pettit wank on how douchebags can't love, and bitches "OMG TLOU IS MUSTARDPIECE, THAT ************************************************"

Neogaf, actually questions not just if that's a valid criticism, but then breaks down into sub discussions on what separates anti-heroes (Tony Soprano) from assholes (Shane from The Walking Dead), and all this other jazz.

Not saying there aren't good posters here, but the threads that get traction here need to

A: Be short and so neutered of any nuance, because anything that is mildly complicated, will go right the **** over their heads
B: Once again short. A paragraph on this forum is a wall of text, I'm self aware of the novels I've written while forum posting, trust me it's a character defect I'm aware of, but if you look at multiple paragraphs as a wall of text, you're an idiot. Like, objectively. Be less stupid.

Prince was great. It's terrible to hear he has passed away, and so young too (at least in the modern age of health and medicine). The worst part is it sounds like he died of something that was either from negligence by the medical staff or something that was easily curable. Regardless, my thoughts and prayers go to his family and fans. :(

Well, I'm not into the multiplayer experience to challenge my skill. I'm in it for fun, which I can't have because they are in it for prestige. Which I don't think even exists but in their heads it does?

Last night was just a really poor session of Splatoon but I have since calmed down. But it did get me to go back to DKC Tropical Freeze, which I hadn't even touched past the first level. So I'll just balance them (and Bayonetta 2 which I have yet to finish as well).

Prince was great at playing basketball too. He had a lot of talent.

Does anyone know the best file type to save as for avatars on gamespot? I've been trying to upload different avatars but they always end up blurry and LQ. Its kind of annoying actually.

I usually just roll with 8-bit PNG (compression set to none/fast when you save out). Best to have minimal compression on your end since Gamespot compresses upon upload anyways.
