Replaying Vanquish for the first time since 2010, after 2 acts, really questioning why I don't think higher of this game, it's so fucking badass. Why do even bother with non Platinum Games?
Side note: The president is Hilary Clinton in this game, and the bad guy is basically Putin in a mechsuit. That's fucking amazing.
Shots at the dark:
1. The control scheme. It was just one button too many. We had the game's version of sprinting separate from rolls which, if I recall, was also separate from the cover button. Took getting used to while you're b****ing at how the game doesn't control like Gears of War while playing the game like Gears of War instead of like Vanquish as you're still in "WHY DOESN'T THIS PLAY LIKE GEARS"-mode.
2. I don't know about you, but I hated all the 'non-standard' weapons. <.< Slow-moving projectile weapons that barely out-sped your rocket thrusters and happening to have a low rate of fire all getting exaggerated in slow-mo feels off and doesn't mesh well in a game that's all about speed. In most situations, the ammo-damage ratio was also shit when you could just pick off heads in style with the LMG.
2b. F*** the weapon upgrade system. Absolutely unnecessary.
3. I seem to recall only four bosses, the giant robot being used like fifty times. /exaggeration
4. The last third of the game toned -down- the crazy until the final boss. Absolute heresy for a Platinum Game.
5. Low health is a pace-breaker, and it can happen frequently during the git gud phase. As you're forced to use all your meter, you spend the next five-ten seconds waiting for it to just end another five-ten waiting to cool down as you're unable to do all the fun things you want to do. It's...anti-climactic. Detensifies what's supposed to be a tense situation and drags things out way too long in a game that's normally very fast.
6. That ending. :\

Radiant Dawn is a sequel and often one of the most criticized games in the series, the two versions of Fates are the same fucking game. One is hard mode, the other is a push over. The fanbase is bioware fans level creepy, so I avoid that shit like the plague.
In the event you meet one of those creeps or, better yet, find yourself in a swarm of them, ask them what they think about:
1. Path of Radiance and Radiant Dawn. Formality, really. You know the answer.
2. The differences between Blazing Sword and Sacred Stones.
3a. Awakening being the second-best in the series (according to Techno). Ask this one with anyone, anywhere, anytime! :D
3b. Awakening Hard vs. Awakening Lunatic.
-
4a. Birthright. Take note of how people call it Awakening 2.0.
4b. Revelation. Don't bother taking notes on how people liken it to Radiant Dawn. Tell yourself to never try it. Ever. I will scold you personally if you give IntSys money for it.
4c. Conquest. Take careful note of how nobody likens it to Radiant Dawn or Awakening Lunatic despite being Birthright's "hard mode" and how they'll swear it's more different from Birthright than Blazing Sword ever was from Sacred Stones. Also take note of how many people consider Conquest Lunatic harder than Awakening Lunatic. Lastly, take note of how many people who don't call Awakening one of the best in the series call Conquest one of the best in the series.
-----
After all that, ask yourself just how in the blue hell someone can love "half a game" that's harder than both Radiant Dawn and Awakening Lunatic priced as if it were a full game. From the outside-in, it sounds completely awful.
