The Friends of Nintendo bundle is pretty good for $13. I went ahead and got it.

I finished Axiom Verge. It was good.

I got my invite to the Pokemon: GO field test today. Gonna have a play around with it at lunch and after work. Nintendo picked a wonderful candidate as Pokemon happens to be my favorite Anime, Monopoly theme and there was this cocktail at this Japanese restaurant called "POKEBALL" and it was legit, pretty sure it increased my Special DEF IRL after drinking it.

I'll totally not post my super thorough impressions of this western made Pokemon JRPG where you have to go outside and stuff because NDAs are wonderful.

Ni-oh alpha demo is amazing. I was such a bad player then I learned how to play and I'm kicking ass at the moment. Just incredible third person sword combat. It's so fucking hard too.

Splatoon ranked matches is not good for my health.

Also, that SNES thread. I participated at least but it pretty much felt like a pointless participation.

I honestly think that he has some good points about nostalgic gaming in that thread. The title of the thread? Don't think it connects to what he put in the OP but I agree with some of it and some of it I'm not interested in.

The problem is he refuses to engage in any actual discussion, and that his points are predicated on subjective bias about the perceived worth of two completely schools of game design, and that he refuses to accept or admit any opposing viewpoint.

If Square-Enix could deliver Kingdom Hearts 3 next year, I'd say 2017 would be year of the Zassimick with both the new Zelda and the finale to the Kingdom Hearts series.

But who am I kidding? This industry and these practices I won't get Kingdom Hearts 3 until 2019.

@Zassimick: after FFXV I think Square won't allow such thing to be repeated. The Whole KH3 early announcement did remind me of Vs XIII though lol ( early Gen hype to get people to buy PS3's) .I think late 2017 is feasible.

@charizard1605: I'm playing Super Metroid for the first time right now. It's a good game and I'm enjoying it. Won't say much about my experience until I'm done with it though. All I know is that I missed the Charge Beam, but I just got the Varia Suit and continuing on through Norfair.

If it does 2017, I will be so thrilled. I'm holding onto my 2019 statement though. :P This industry sucks balls; delays are too common for me to believe it to hit as early as 2017. I see them revealing a 2018 release date with delays ending up to push it back to 2019.

@Zassimick: The charge beam is exceptionally easy to get. Just take the doors on the left in Norfair!

There's three when you fall down the elevator shaft. I think the middle one or the bottom one (can't be sure) takes you to the charge beam.

@charizard1605: I remember those doors but don't remember why I didn't go in them. One of them was that hallway you have to sprint down, but I kept getting stopped by the second door so I imagine there was something to figure out there. Don't remember the other doors.

No, not that one- that's the middle one. The one below it is a seeming dead end, and is where the charge beam is.

Having a blast with it, but good god its brutal. Only auto saves (so no reloads) combined with perma death and injuries, not much margin for error. Bye bye the guy you've spent 40 hrs building ...

Gotta say I was surprised by the NX delay to March. Quite the risky move, IMO.

Makes me wonder what they have up their sleeves for a Holiday release. Zelda off the table, likely they'll hold all the major IPs for launch day/window NX releases... what's left? A minor IP making a surprise comeback?

It is the 30th Anniversary of Metroid this year. Federation Force being the only release feels like a slap to the face but Metroid has always gotten the short end of the stick. Not quite as much as poor F-Zero, but yeah.

Wow dude I restarted the whole ni oh demo and I died two times reaching the first boss and pretty much owned every enemy the game threw at me. I played so much that it became so natural. So much depth and fun in this game it's crazy. This is officially my most hyped action RPG of 2016. Seriously it's been a while since I sat and played a game and this demo comes in and gets me to commit to it again. Ni oh is one of the primary reasons to why I love gaming. Souls too absolutely,

Nah, I just remember you saying it was underwhelming, which is understandable, especially given the never ending hype behind it. I still maintain that it's one of the best, if not the best JRPG I've played. At the very least I'd say it has all the qualities that make the genre enjoyable, but without all the bloat that typically drags the genre down.

Did you ever get around to FFVI?
