Ended up seeing Civil War again, what a fun movie.
God damn DC sucks so much at making movies.
Best Marvel movie so far I think, fixes the one major flaw they have (crap villains), I'm seeing it again soon :)
Yeah DC are very bad in general, V For Vendetta, Watchmen and The Dark Knight movies aside.
@getyeryayasout: @charizard1605:
Yeah, it's good stuff dudes.
You might have already seen it, but I feel this video sums it up perfectly.
SPOILER ALERT: Demons get blown to bits.

The first two movies you mentioned on the DC front, are complete and utter shit. Watchmen exceptionally so.
Captain America: Civil War was fantastic, holy shit! I don't remember being that excited for a superhero movie since The Dark Knight.
Waiting on the general word of mouth, but I'm thinking I might change my birthday gift request from Zelda to Doom. I'd like something that high octane.
@ConanTheStoner: I saw that, lol.
It's funny, because the multiplayer beta got so trashed, and now everyone is gushing about the game. Looks like Bethesda were going about the wrong way promoting the game.

Civil War definitely is awesome. It also has the single greatest action scene in a superhero movie ever.

Best movie is still The Winter Soldier, breh. Also, nah, Zemo sucks. He was built up well and then the third act completely ruins him. Civil War is definitely the second best Marvel movie though.
What? The final act does him just fine, him having a personal motivation actually works, and goes along nicely with the whole movies set up of all the collateral damage the Avengers have caused. He's not as convincing nor as charismatic as the dude who plays Loki, but he's easily a good aspect of that movie. He looks better than he is though, because Marvel's villains in all of these movies (Marvel Studios, not the non marvel movies, because Xmen/Spiderman rogue's gallary is fantastic), outside of Loki have been trash.
@jg4xchamp: There is literally no explanation for how one man with a dead family managed to get an international political and terrorist conspiracy going effectively, and manages to get the world's most powerful men to fight each other. Like, yes, I get it, he was in the intelligence agency of his small ass insignificant country, but that doesn't explain how he manages to be more effective than fucking Ultron.

Bitch, it's a superhero movie, this is the hill you want to die on? Suspsension of disbelief?
Even plot wise it works fine, Ultron tries to out muscle them and fight them, and has Tony's ego problem. Homeboy, benefits from being low-key, and setting up conflict between the avengers, with the added bonus that regardless of the set up, the conflict would be heated enough between the group, that it really didn't matter the source. Tony doesn't give a shit that Bucky was brainwashed for instance, it's not like he doesn't grasp it, he just doesn't give a ****. Likewise Rhodes knows now they were set up, also doesn't change the fact that he's a government cat, a soldier of the modern day, is easily going to go with the accords.
The absurdity of Zemo isn't what was he able to do, or even his low key methods, the larger issue if anything, plot wise is how much the plot is a product of coincidence.

Idk man, i didn't buy it. I don't buy Ultron either, for what it's worth. And in my opinion there is no universe where Zemo is a 'good villain' by any objective standard. Is he a better villain than in other Marvel movies, sure, but that doesn't require much effort, all Marvel villains are shit (and the two that were not shit got turned into anti heroes/semi heroes eventually anyway). He's a 'good villain' inasmuch as he got the plot going, and he is less terrible than every other Marvel villain to date- everything else he did was either frankly unbelievable, or just a product of coincidence, like you pointed out.

What's there to buy? The media and the government already have issues with how much damage The Avengers cause, shit the first movie (avengers 1 that is) even hints at some of this stuff, and homeboy frames Bucky (black panther being there is the coincidence) who it's pretty well known knowledge of who Steve Rogers is in that world, intelligence guy shouldn't have much issue finding out about Bucky, especially since he gets that hydra book, and after that it's just him finding his way in to entry level bullshit.
The he had more success than say some super power robot is really as simple as the Robot didn't even remotely try to match wits with them. Zemo is never even their direct competition, hell if there is a plot issue, it's that Cap won't just pick up a cell phone to explain stuff to Tony before they have to have a big fight.
So again what's really the issue with Zemo? Because even him being a pretty thin character, works for the sake of the movie's plot, because he's not really as central to the main conflict of the movie, as the main heroes are. Ironman is more the central antagonist of this movie than anything.
Ugh I just defended cape shit, I might vomit.
Nathan Drake not liking/knowing anything about video games is fucking lame.
What the **** were ND thinking with that outdated/poorly written segment?

1. What's outdated about a dude who doesn't like, know anything about video games? That's not absurd at all. There are plenty of people who have never played a video game, especially someone in their 30s.
2. My impression of the scene is that it's basically a quaint little thing of them going "remember where we started?" type deal.
It's my birthday today. 25 years old, I'm a fucking old ass man
Oh, happy birthday Char. I'm older than you.

Champ basically already said what I feel but in short:
The main "villains" in the movie are the heroes. Which is awesome. And as far as the "actual villain" Zemo goes, he has a believable motivation and sympathetic cause. Maybe not perfect but does ANY Marvel villain (even the enjoyable Loki) have ANY motivation except "I want money/power LOL"?
It's especially awesome that he doesn't even care about the outcome, particularity. He's started the fight and that will do. I think he could get popped by Iron Man and die with a smile. That's vastly better than "old man who tries to take Tony's company" or "Special Nazis who are somehow more evil than regular Nazis" :P
Happy Birthday Chaz.
On a unrelated note, I saw Zelda a link between worlds for $20 brand new at Best Buy, Heard it was a decent game.
Happy Birthday, Char.
So I got Bayonetta 2 on Friday at Best Buy and began playing it today. I know it's a third party IP (hell, I even call Bayo 2 a third party game more than I do a first/second party because of it, but it's so weird (note: not complaining, just an observation) to hear so many F-bombs in a Nintendo published game.

Game takes place in 2015. Half of the world today are playing video games on their phone, computers, consoles, etc. A man in his 30s still seeing video games as some sort of new invention strikes me as odd and out of place. Him not liking video games is just a personal pet peeve of mine. Having the main character of one of the most popular video games series in recent years not like them just seems pretty dumb.
If this were a real "remember where we started" deal, then they would have 3DO hooked up and be playing Way of the Warrior. That would be funny as hell. Even with that, the couch scene is just another over indulgent segment in a game that sure does love its slow as **** pacing.
(I actually really like V for Vendetta. I found Hugo Weaving to be an absolute delight in that film. Almost on par with his performance in Priscilla Queen of the Desert...)

Well wishes to you, boss. I'm older than you. I never knew this. This is... an odd mixture of feelings. Anywho, hope your day is/was a blast, and many more to follow.
@speedfreak48t5p:
Take it from a not-so-big-fan of the series, it's actually pretty good compared to most of the awful outings that followed Twilight Princess. $20 is a decent price for it.

We will see, but I'm not very confident considering they're better than us in every position (assuming you're from Canada).
Raptors have a better backcourt than the Cavs. They probably have the best backcourt combo that isnt Lillard + McCollum or Stephen Curry + Stephen Curry. It got them to win 56 games, which was just a game back from the Cavs. They're still the 2nd best team in the East, it's just that people were writing them off with how underwhelming the duo has been.
It's just a matter if DeRozen and Lowry can play well or not. They've underperformed in the playoffs up until the last 3 games against the Heat. If they can play like they did in those games, they could probably at least win a home game or two.
I stayed up late to watched the F1 and woke up early to watch the Raptors game, really glad I did. Lowry's performance was clutch. Didnt think he'd handle a game 7 with all that pressure, but he had such a stellar game, one of the best individual performances in this years' playoffs
