Lemme ask you a question.
Where in my original post did I ask people to follow my own criteria for what is an RPG. I'll post my original comment in the thread
Dear Lord,
How many people actually played The Witcher 2? One of the best games of the generation, but seriously, how the f*ck was that a RPG except for the developers claiming it was. Then it hit me: the list of games available this gen, and the ones people are voting for are absolutely revolting. Wasteland 2 and all those PC Kickstarter RPGs cannot come soon enough.DarkLink77
I didn't call out any particular poster. I didn't quote a comment of any particular poster. I didn't shove my opinion down the throats of anyone in the thread. I just made one comment, and it happened to not be in favour of what was happening on here. Apparently it caused the world to burn.
Lemme ask you a second question:
What the f*ck is your problem? I got no beef with you, or your views, or what games you like, or whatever. I suppose if your perrsonal crusade in this thread is therapeutive, I give you my blessing to continue to vilify my comments. If not, just drop it dude. Nothing good is going to come out of it.
Gotta say, this whole "What is an RPG?" thing feels awkward without Adobe.Oh god, don't get him in here. We'l never hear the end of it.
I was recently playing Planescape: Torment. It plays night and day between it and say Mass Effect 2. It doesn't mean that one's an RPG and the other isn't. There are so many types of RPGs out there from action RPGs, to turn-based to strategy and more.
I also played Final Fantasy IV recently and it also plays day and night compared to Planescape: Torment.
I also played Chrono Trigger, which is my favorite RPG of all time. And do you know what plays similarly to Chrono Trigger in many regards? The Witcher 2.
Why should people base their beliefs on what an RPG is based on your criteria here? RPG is a broad genre that's broken up into many smaller groups. I hate to tell you this, but you've got a narrow-minded view on what the genre is.

You're quoting my post out of context with your original post. Compare it to "Go play Fallout and compare it to Skyrim, the difference is night and day" (or whatever you wrote), that's what my post is in reference to. So quit playing the victim and get over it.
I didn't say take it out lol. I was just hoping through natural reason and faith in the people that'd it just drop off. By the way, scored Vanquish for $10 brand new. That's like $5 in greenback. Been playing it and....... Definitely one of the greatest RPGs this gen.I vote we go with liquid and take out Witcher 2 so Dark Souls can be in first. That's pretty fair and works out for everybody.

That actually was really funny considering the turn this conversation took haha.

I concur. The numerous ways how you can upgrade your guns and alter the story is simply mind bending.
If I were to follow the two region rule, Valkyria Chronicles, Resonance of Fate, and Demon's Souls
But if I were to give a more definitive list,
Zero no Kiseki, Final Fantasy Type 0, and ... any of the above three, really. I'll go with Valkyria Chronicles.
Seriously, you need to play Dark Souls right now and have your mind blown. Or Demon's Souls, whichever.

Soon bro. Soon. But I have a massive backlog.
I need to finish my Mass Effect trilogy replay. I told Goyoshi to play Fallout. I literally asked him to play Fallout. It wasn't a rhetorical. The reason I told him was because he apparently wanted me to explain my sentiments behind my original comment. I took him in good faith and provided him an alternative to a fruitless discussion on System Wars. For some strange reason, you decided to take my suggestion directed at him to heart and turn it into the reckless discussion I was trying to avoid. And you're asking me to get over it? NeonNinja, just drop it. No.
My post that you quoted was in no way defamatory towards you. Like I said, get over it. It was an honest critique of your views that said nothing negative beyond "You have a narrow-minded view on what an RPG is."
You only took it as offensive because of my other post that has nothing to do with this conversation.
I don't care. You can think what you want. You can try and avoid what you want. But at the end of the day you got a response from someone who disagrees with your view.
So again: no. And: get over it. And: there was no insult towards you for you to be so offended. So: quit being so sensitive about a discussion regarding videogame.

Mechanically they play the same. But New Vegas is better written with more interesting characters and locales. I felt compelled to explore in New Vegas, with Fallout 3 I was just bored.
That's my reason for preferring New Vegas and I'm sure many people feel the same way.

You can't have two games from the same series. The Witcher 2 as #1? Wow such a hermitspot. Its a good AAA game, in fact its quite amazing, but FAR from the best RPG this gen.
My vote:
1. Skyrim
2. Obivlion
3. Dragon Age: Origins.
Mozelleple112
TW2 might go in my top 5 though
