[QUOTE="Master_ShakeXXX"]have you actually played and beaten the witcher 2?I vote we go with liquid and take out Witcher 2 so Dark Souls can be in first. That's pretty fair and works out for everybody.

Just gave away my 360 to someone less fortunate.
I was about to buy the slim 360, just for Mass Effect 1 but it will come out on the PS3 soon. Not sure about buying another one, The Witcher 2 might make me buy it but it's just one game.
Opinions system warriors??? Buy or wait for Durango/Orbit?

No, but Dark Souls is better.
play it first then maybe your opinion would actually mean something blind fanboys...Fallout 3 I can see people getting upset, but I can't say that new vegas was a better game... just me.TheEroica
A better game than what? 3 or Mass Effect?
I'll just go off of the assumption you're talking about Fallout NV, and simply put, no, 3 isn't better than New Vegas.
If you want, which you don't, trust me, I can tell you why NV is objectively better than 3. I refrain from doing so because I'll simply get the typical "Well it's my opinion" jargin I'd expect.

I dunno man, The Witcher 2 is necessary gaming, but if you already gave away your system it might not be worth buying another 360. I don't see it going to another platform though. PC/Mac and 360 will likely be it.
I told Goyoshi to play Fallout. I literally asked him to play Fallout. It wasn't a rhetorical. The reason I told him was because he apparently wanted me to explain my sentiments behind my original comment. I took him in good faith and provided him an alternative to a fruitless discussion on System Wars. For some strange reason, you decided to take my suggestion directed at him to heart and turn it into the reckless discussion I was trying to avoid. And you're asking me to get over it? NeonNinja, just drop it. Join the other fruitful discussions concerning Kate Upton, Adobe Artist, and probably something else in the next few pages.[QUOTE="FrozenLiquid"][QUOTE="NeonNinja"]
You're quoting my post out of context with your original post. Compare it to "Go play Fallout and compare it to Skyrim, the difference is night and day" (or whatever you wrote), that's what my post is in reference to. So quit playing the victim and get over it.

No.
My post that you quoted was in no way defamatory towards you. Like I said, get over it. It was an honest critique of your views that said nothing negative beyond "You have a narrow-minded view on what an RPG is."
You only took it as offensive because of my other post that has nothing to do with this conversation.
I don't care. You can think what you want. You can try and avoid what you want. But at the end of the day you got a response from someone who disagrees with your view.
So again: no. And: get over it. And: there was no insult towards you for you to be so offended. So: quit being so sensitive about a discussion regarding videogame.
I still have no true definition for an RPG or what makes an RPG an RPG....but I'm getting a real big kick out of causing such a bickering battle in this thread. :P

If it floats your boat, you can complete the game without touching the combat at all. It's probably not recommended on a first play through, but since you can create characters that would be incompetent at any violent altercations, Black Isle gave a fair bit of leeway to avoid direct confrontation. Kinda funny you say that though. I think the trouble RPGs started having was when the game was being played in real time. I don't think anyone's really figured out how to incorporate the entire sophistication of pen-and-paper RPGs into real time CRPGs yet. Baldur's Gate 1 & 2 were the closest. Everything else has been governed by a player's dexterity rather than character sheets. Funnily enough, a game like Dark Souls uses player dexterity to its advantage.[QUOTE="madsnakehhh"]

God damn it. Too lazy for this. Pulled some old quotes though from this thread
[QUOTE="SPYDER0416"]
The thing is, progress was shown, but out in the West. DC was hit much harder and didn't have the luxury of any organized government, and the Enclave made things worse by deliberately sabotaging any attempts to do so. Fallout 3 makes sense as a wasteland, and the dirty look of things happens when you don't have running water or electricity like they do out in the western USA, so even 200 years later it can make sense for things to be the way they are over in DC.
Plus even discounting the difference in aesthetics of the dirty look in both games, New Vegas just kind of sucks as a place. I loved it, don't get me wrong, but the desert felt blander by comparison with less interesting areas or interiors to explore (aside from the Vaults which were awesome in both games), while I felt the city was tiny and lifeless. Sure there were design limitations, but a supposedly bustling place should have more then a dozen NPC's in one giant space at any time, especially in the Casino where you'd have like two or three people sitting at a table or gambling.
I know if they added more the game would have been more of a crash fest then it already was, but the change in trying to go back to the more refined Western area doesn't work when it ends up feeling lifeless, but without the devastation and explanation that the DC wasteland has.
Slashless
As a location, sure it made "sense". As a game however, FO3 completely f*cked up.
First, and I can let this one go on the account these people are just stupid, why is there a settlement built around a bomb? Not near it, but right smack dab in the middle there is a bomb ready to explode at any time. That was just complete laziness on Bethesda's part, trying to strongly show off the stupid Karma system with that.
Secondly, was Bethesda completely unaware of who the Brotherhood of Steel was? The BoS NEVER cared about the safety of others, Caesar put it best. There technology horders that have no goal. They've always been about protecting themselves, yet somehow the Capital Wasteland division "broke off" from the rest of the group to help the people of the Capital Wasteland. They somehow got that many members to agree to COMPLETELY do a 180 and change goals. That's as if the East division of Caesar's Legion decided to help innocent tribes from slavers. Does it make sense? no. It was just more laziness on Bethseda's part to come up with a protagonist faction for the game, not able to come up with something original, or something that makes sense. That, and why is there a main protagonist factions in this game? It's an RPG. Shouldn't I be able to choose who I want to help. No, I have to help the BoS, who are "saints".
There are many other things that don't make sense in the game (The Enclave's presense for example) but I'm moving on to your other points.
You argue that NV isn't as "busy" as it should be, yet just look at FO3. One of the major settlements consists of 5 people and 4 Traders. The Republic of Dave consists of 5 adults and a sh*t ton of children. Other than Rivet City, Underworld and Megaton, there aren't many non main faction related settlements. At least with NV you have The Strip, Freeside, Goodsprings, Primm(though small), Novac, Hidden Valley, the Fiend Vault (which is friendly), Powder Ganger vault, NCR Correctional Facilities, Red Rock Canyon, Boomers(forgot the name of their settlement), Mormon Fort(along with other Freeside areas), 188 Trading post, and Westside. That's not even including any NCR/Legion related buildigns.
Sure, you can argue that given DC was directly impacted by the bomb it's settlement count is limited, but the fact that New Vegas is as thriving as it is despite being in the middle of a huge war makes that point moot. Sure, FO3 has better landmarks, but it's DC. That's like me praising New Vegas for having better gambling than DC. Plus, Fallout 3's bland color scheme makes the game dull. It's white and grey if you go to the inner city, it's brown if you go anywhere else. That and repetitive tunnel systems make the game stale and boring. It would be better if they all didn't look exactly the same, weren't dark as sh*t, and weren't so plentiful in numbers.
You probably won't read that but eh.
