The 360 can not display true 1080p

just saying, almost all videos made by Wipeout and Elpreasador tend to be untrue, if your looking for accurate facts that do support the PS3 I recommend you just stick with Blackbustercritic, hes the only PS3 fan Ive found on youtube that doesnt spurt out blatant lies.

fanboy vid is old. both consoles can produce a true 1080p image. doesnt matter though since the nly 1080p games are arcade and sports.

not a big deal for me as my TV only does 720p, and I must play on my monitor to get that high of a res...

Very few games do 1080. Its hardly the deciding factor between the systems when so few games ever take advantage of the feature. In either case, both console are too weak to display 1080 with enough polygon details to create an impressive image. 720 with more objects produces a more impressive image than 1080 with barren landscapes.

Intel integrated graphics can do 1080p, it's what is in that resolution that requires higher performance.

The PS3 can only play CERTAIN games at 1080p. those are the games that look worse than most others. games with better graphics display ONLY at 720p & will not be upscaled. The 360 upscales to 1080p if the game doesnt have native 1080p support. THERE ARE GAMES OUT there for the 360 that support native 1080p aswell. True 1080p refers to the rez. it doesnt matter whether the game has been upscaled or not , as long as the rez is 1080p its true 1080p. Native 1080p is a different story. BOTH PS3 & 360 are capable of NATIVE 1080p the only difference is that 360 can upscale its 720p games to 1080p while the PS3 cannot. Most of the PS3's games are displayed in 720p not 1080p and this is the same with the 360, But unlike the PS3 the 360 can upscale while the PS3 is stuck with 720p ONLY and no upscaling. Im not taking any sides here. the reason the PS3 cant upscale is beause it lacks a good framebuffer chip like the 360's, other than that the hardware is perfectly capable of running a software upscaler. Plz do not spread false information. both ps3 and xbox can display native 1080p content, but due to them being just "weak sauce" of course every "demanding" will be dumbed down to something like 600p and them upscaled by an independent ship, like the 360 does.

And since one of the above posters mentioned about which has the crappier output, well thats the ps3 due to the fact that ati gpu's have better filters.

For a 52inches+ screen the only acceptable resolution should be 2160p if not more.

Lower pixel pitch = sharper and smoother image FTW :)

Honestly who believes this nonsense? PS3 is using a custom 7800GTX with half the bus, simply the G70 design that PC was running years ago. There is nothing about PS3 that is "designed from the ground up" to produce 1080p.
