I'm pretty everyone knows he's wrong, but your source isn't accurate. They even have Halo 3 as a 1080p game when It's not even 720p.

i can produce plenty of other sources if you like, that was just the first on the list when i googled it

Going by THIS list, the 360 has 5 1080p games. ^^ Sounds about right.

AC2 on 360 in 1080p.....

I don't have anything else to say......

Panosola

It's 720p... I just proved that to you :?

Wow.

Just PS3 fanboys opinions.

I have buy the game on the 360 and the different between 720p and 1080p is big.The game look a lot better in 1080p on my SAMSUNG 46'' LCD TV.

Hmmm? Are you calling DigitalFoundry PS3 fanboys?

Wow, that's hilarious considering they said the 360 version of Assassin's Creed 2 runs better.

Cool, you have a TV. I care about the model, why?

That's funny since it's almost impossible to tell the different between 1080p and 720p on a tv that size. It's not native 1080p.

Im sorry, but where are the mods. If someone proves you wrong at least 3 times and yet you presist that your upscaled 1080p is impressive, you should be perma-banned. I feel like this place is made for Wii players ie 2 year olds. i should really move on.

fanboy vid is old. both consoles can produce a true 1080p image. doesnt matter though since the nly 1080p games are arcade and sports.

washd123

true 1080p on the consoles with there outdated graphics cards in a game with intense texture, ai, animation rendering...sounds like a screen tearing good time.

Yeah, but at bigger tv sizes, it is harder to differentiate between 720p and 1080p. note, 'on a tv that size' People's reading skills here are poor, you may as well be illiterate.

maybe if you compare upscaled console games of course you wont notice a difference since its technically the same resolution but sitting 3-4 feet away from a 40" 1080p and 40" 720p hdtv side by side with the same game one at 720p and one at 1080p from my pc and theres a huge difference. like i mean huge. if you cant notice it you need glasses, not meaning that in an insulting way but seriously it would mean there was something wrong with your eyes.

How can it be less obvious if its the same. Its either the same, or its not. If its the same, regardles what size TV your viewing on, its going to be the same.

Who sits 3-4 ft away from a 40" screen? Im talking about normal viewing experiences. Put 2 40" tv next to each other. one is 720p, the other 1080p. Not everyone will be able to tell one from the other if sat at the appropriate distance.

Yes, because they have bad eye sight.

This is pretty simple. 720p at 22" is the same as 720p at 70". 1080p at 22" is the same as 1080p at 70". The difference between 720p and 1080p at 22" is the same as it is at 70". Resolution is fixed, it doesnt change. What needs to change is viewing distance.

The bigger the tv the bigger the difference. Unless you are sitting directly in front of the tv, you really won't see much of a difference if any at all on tvs less than 50"

LOL milk shot out my nose i laughed so hard at the last 2 posts. Seriously you consolites need to do some research into the "true" capabilities of your favorate console. I think that it would be quiet the rude awakening.

Panosola

I'm not a consolite, i'm a PC gamer, first of all.

Link to Ridge Racer 7 being true 1080p.

This is a DigitalFoundry analysis.

The Ridge Racer 7 graphics are very poor.I don't see any big different at 1080p.Again at 1080p the game look poor and ugly.

I remember being amazed by them when I first got my PS3. :(

Well duh! Differentiate is a word that implies subjectivity though. Of course the difference is the same, why wouldn't it be, im say that the difference is less ovbious on the bigger screen.

Chutebox

How can it be less obvious if its the same. Its either the same, or its not. If its the same, regardles what size TV your viewing on, its going to be the same.

The bigger the tv the bigger the difference. Unless you are sitting directly in front of the tv, you really won't see much of a difference if any at all on tvs less than 50"

Crap, i just realised i was arguing the wrong way round. What i meant to say is that 720p adn 1080p is harder to differentiate at anything BELOW 36"

False. Resolution is fixed, it does not change. 1080p is 1080p and will always be 1080p, which is 1920 x 1080 and will always be 1920 x 1080. This does not change due to screen size, be it 22" or 70", its the same amount of pixels. 1080p at 22" will look exactly the same as 1080p at 70", you just need to alter your viewing difference. It doesnt become less obviosu or whatever you want to say, it cant, its the same.

Who sits 3-4 ft away from a 40" screen? Im talking about normal viewing experiences. Put 2 40" tv next to each other. one is 720p, the other 1080p. Not everyone will be able to tell one from the other if sat at the appropriate distance.

tirralirra

then however many feet away. its irrelevant. people can tell if the game is the same and the native resolution matches the tv. if youre comparing 2 native 720p games to eachother while one is upscaled then maybe not. but compare 2 same game one 1080p one 720p and theres a huge noticeable difference, if you do that and cant notice a difference there is something wrong with your eyes.

Im telling you that the difference is the same. If people cant see it, then thats a problem with their eyes. You cant change true facts wether some people can see it or not.

just saying, almost all videos made by Wipeout and Elpreasador tend to be untrue, if your looking for accurate facts that do support the PS3 I recommend you just stick with Blackbustercritic, hes the only PS3 fan Ive found on youtube that doesnt spurt out blatant lies.

dragonfly110
The video doesn't fabricate anything he's doing, BUT the 360 CAN run 1080p video/renders. The thing is though, this video shows the dashboard DOES NOT run in 1080p, but in fact 720p, and upscales to 1080p.

And wow! Ridge Racer 7 is in 1080p... Get back to me when games like Crysis render in 1080p natively on a console, Shoot even Source games struggle with being rendered at decent resolutions on consoles. And quiet franky thats pretty sad.

Oh sure, they may be able to output 1080p signals but they cant render games at 1080p. The tech in consoles is not strong enough! 512mb of system RAM is no where near enough!

Your eyes have certain limitations, just because something is theoretically better doesn't mean your eyes will be able to pick up on it, just like when games reach a certain FPS your eyes can no longer notice the difference. Almost all sites comparing 720p vs 1080p bring up the fact that you will not notice much difference when taking into account smaller TV's and the distance you sit away from the TV.

Cnet:

Bottom line: It's almost always very difficult to see any difference--especially from farther than 8 feet away on a 50-inch TV.

The Best plasma TV:

In order to get the extra detail from 1080p, the screen size must be big enough and the distance short enough for your eyes to actually see the extra detail. Basically, unless you have a very short distance between you and the TV, you will need a larger screen with 1080p than with 720p. That means in order to actually benefit from 1080p you pay not just for the extra resolution but also for the extra screen size.

They already do. However the games are nothing TOO intensive. For example racing games/sports games.

What. Both the PS3 and 360 can display true 1080p, they just don't for the vast majority of games because neither console has the fill rate to do it at a playable framerate unless we're talking something technically simple like Wipeout HD or Geometry Wars, where there are very few polygons to throw around. And even Wipeout HD will knock itself down from 1080p when there's too much on screen. If 1080p is really a big deal to someone (and it shouldn't be, given how far most people sit from their monitor/TV) they should just buy a PC so they can play everything at native 1080p without upscaling.

Just anecdotal evidence from working at blockbuster.

yep, and he's not funny, either.
