The 360 controller is so much better than the PS3's, it's not even funny.

I'm just making this post because I'm quite honestly sick of Sony's BS. Their controller sucks. Face it, it sucks. I powered on my PS3 today, feeling up to playing some UC 2 and Heavy Rain. What am I greeted with instead? A dead controller. Great. I haven't used my system in a while, so I'm going to have wait two hours for it to charge, unless I want to sit two feet away from the PS3 while playing as it's connected to the USB cable. With my 360, I have two rechargeable paks so one is always available should the other die.

This isn't even mentioning the overall design of the controllers. The PS3's is THREE. GENERATIONS. OLD. Their stubborn insistence on using such an archaic and outdated interface drives me up the wall. I do not have tiny Japanese hands, I have big fat manly American ones. The L1, L2, R1, and R2 buttons are terrible. The PS3's analog's concurve shape makes slip ups more common than the 360's concave nubs. The 360 fits more comfortably in the hands. It has a decent heft, and the triggers are better.

EVERYTHING about it is more competently designed and thought out than Sony's offering. Someone point out to me something the Dualshock does better, because I sure can't see it. The 360's is so much better, in fact, that whenever a multi-plat game comes out, I'll always grab the 360 version first, even if the PS3 is superior or has some exclusive DLC. The controller is 50% of what makes any console enjoyable to use, and Sony really dropped the ball in this aspect. Anyone else agree?

/Rant.

Really? 50%? From a piece of plastic with buttons and analog sticks?

The PS3 controller is so much better than the 360's fat, heavy controller

in other words, everyone have their own opinions and they all stink. LOCKED

The 360's is certainly better from an ergonomic standpoint. As for you charging issue, simply buy a longer cord or charge it whilst not using it - it's annoying, but not hard to fix.

To each their own. I prefer the 360 controller but it's not like the PS3's is bad. By the way to answer your question about what the PS3's controller does better, the D-pad.

It's almost exactly the same as the 360's controller.

Even if you prefer the 360 controller it's not that much better. Back in my day (ok so bakc in everyones day!) handling the N64 controller was nothing!

What do you expect? PS3 controller was designed for the PS1 generation. MS actually changed their controller so were able to improve it. But hey, at least PS3 has better d-pad.

If you find one controller better than another, you are trying to hard to not like one of the controllers or you suck at videogames.

I don't know why you're complaining about the controller having a built-in rechargeable battery.

If you have a wireless 360 controller you have to either keep replacing batteries, buy a play'n'charge kit, probably multiple since the cords always seem to die, or buy a wired controller, all cost more money.

I don't own a PS3 but I'm pretty sure the port on the controller is just a mini-usb cord, so if you have a longer mini-usb cord you can use it for your PS3 and other stuff. Where Microsoft sells you proprietary crap that only works with XBAWX.

Absolutely, if not more. If a controller's uncomfortable to use and is not suited well to its purpose, playing a game becomes unenjoyable.

OK, I'll grant you that one. The 360's is pretty terrible, although the new controller remedies this somewhat.

No, controllers are different and depending on certain factors there will be things you like and things you don't. I'm pretty good at video games and I've used dozens of different controllers and I have my preferences.

ur opinion is invalid cause i disagree with u... the 360 controller is awful compared to the dualshock 3.. not only does the dpad suck but it weighs double the ps3 controller (my wrist was actually hurting yesterday because i was playing the 360 for a few hours straight...never done that with the dualshock) Also the sticks are far more loose so its easier to aim and its light but not to light and it feels better in my hand then the 360 one..\ /counter rant

Sure it costs more, but what's the alternative? OK, I suppose I could plug in my PS3 controller to my PC's USB port while not playing, but as I don't play it much at all, and it would always require the controller to be on. I could also buy another PS3 contoller to have charging, but that costs just as much and seems unecessary.

Understatement of the century. I hadn't charged it in so long I forgot where I put my cord (I play like 10 hours a week generally, and hadn't charged it for like 3 months). Took me like a week to find it. And you can still get at least 6 hours of game time even when the lowbattery signal turns on. First hand experience. xD

Lol at Americans being = to manly. What the PS3 controller does better: - D-Pad works. - Face buttons are much better. - R1/L1 are far superior to the bumpers on the 360 - light weight - built in charger (I have two controllers so I never have to worry about both being flat) What the 360 controller does better: - Concave sticks/triggers. Triggers can be fixed on PS3 by using real trigger attachments that cost $5

I don't think it's a terrible controller, just see the 360 as vastly superior. It needs to evolve, and I really hope they do something new for the PS4.

I like the 360's more for FPS games. I don't really care one way or the other when it comes to everything else. I do like how I can just plug my DS3 into my PS3 to charge. I voted 360 though because I prefer it with more games.

I disagree. I find the Ps3 controller to be much more comfortable. It doesn't have that stupid off set analog stick configuration which didn't even make sense in the first place, it fits my hands perfectly, and the joysticks are much more precise and feel better.

Fully disagree. The PS3 controller is miles better, especially in terms of the d-pad and the L1/R1 buttons. The only thing I like the 360 controller better for is FPS, but then it's competing with keyboard and mouse...
