It's not getting 2 years of live for free. You pay $99 for the console, and you only get that deal if you sign a contract on the spot to also get 2 years of live, at $15 per month. You're getting nothing for free, you're getting a "discounted" console because you're committing to spend even more than regular retail price over the next 2 years on the service. This "deal' is $459 total, includes Xbox 360 4GB and 2 years of Xbox Live. If you were to purchase the system and xbox live separately, you would save $180. I think its a rip off (especially since it costs more in the long run then simply buying one, and you only get the crappiest of the crap with the Arcade model), but I guess its a consumer experiment more then anything.
