One reason why Gran Turismo 3 is my favorite game of all time was because of its amazing production value/visual fidelity/major ammounts of style. From the looks of things GT5 looks to be keeping on that same pace. Forza Motorsport 2 played good and is very feature rich but it lacked the style and that 'high quality' feel that you get from Gran Turismo. Forza 2 seemed to rely to heavily on its texture modding and damage modeling rather than the 'perfect summer day drive.'

Gran Turismo has always been about the mood and sty-le and have always been able to deliver that like no other driving game so thats why I think Polyphony and Kazunori are geniuses.

Online play will help dramatically. I just can't play a bumper-car sim racer with no custom soundtracks. I played GT HD on my old PS3 for about an hour and haven't played it since. In fact, I haven't even re-downloaded GT HD on my new PS3.

There is no jaggies because it's concept cgi art. Looks nice though. This could be done easily and even better on a PC. Actually, this probably was done on the PC.

Go what all the videos again and you will see its not CGI. When you see the scene in the garage you can tell its not CGI because its the same scene for every car. Same camera angle, same crew members, just a different car and different textures on the suits. Its all realtime.

Only downside is the jaggies, even tho it will be 1080p the jaggiesw might bother some. Then again bioshock 1680x1050 doesnt bother me with jaggies, because it just runs so fast. So is GT5 a real game or a download? jwdracolich666

GT5 will be a real game. What we are seeing is its prologue. Kinda like a beta. Just a little something way before the real deal.

Yeah, and with good reason. I have friends that can now recognize foreign cars thanks to GT3. People who I wouldn't have normally expected to have this game, had this game. And I also think its the highest rated racing sim with a 9.4..Forza what?:P Oh, and did I mention this was the main reason I'm buying a PS3:D.

The GT series is just now getting basic features that were done in the original Forza, which will be 3 years old by the time GT5 comes out. Since when do champs play catch up?

The idea that Kazonori Yamauchi had behind GT is the feeling you get from driving your car on a perfect sunny day:) It sets a mood in which no other driving sim has been able to do. With that said..Neither Forza or GT are perfect, they both could learn a thing or two from each other. The way FM was presented bored the hell out of me and it lacked photo realism but it did have loads to do. I credit GT for being immersive setting a mood or tone but it could have more things to do.

Edit: Prolouge will be out in October and the full game is supposed to be out in the Spring.

Obviously those pics from the cars in the garage are pre-rendered, maybe using the engine, maybe not, but still the track side is alot more detailed than i thought and the cars are highly detailed, its got an awesome draw distance as well.
