Strategy game of the year. Move over Starcraft 2. :twisted:Stevo_the_gamerSouth Korea says GTFO. Not literally :P
Everyone's too busy playing Civ IV in anticipation.
The lack of posts and excitement for this game is sad

[QUOTE="Stevo_the_gamer"]Strategy game of the year. Move over Starcraft 2. :twisted:NAPK1NSNO. This game will be great but StarCraft will reign! No. Impossible. There's only one strategy king, and it's Civ 5. No I haven't played it, but it doesn't matter. I'm not wrong. :D

strategy games dont count on SW, you all know that. Rule number 647b. Games or genre's not abundant on consoles are immediately dismissed as trash and should not be hyped or spoken of unless accompanied by the words "it is only a_______"

Nice attempt at trying to be funny, but let's get serious for a moment. Hermits hyped StarCraft II like there was no tomorrow. Don't blame consolites for the lack of hype for this game. SW Hermits just don't care for what SHOULD BE the best Strategy game of this generation.

Some people take SW way too seriously, :P

How dare you!!!!!!!
RTS not only requires you to use strategy, but to do so quickly. Anyone can come up with a master plan when they can just pause the game and think, but only a true general can outwit his opponent in the midst of a Zerg Rush.[QUOTE="Frozzik"][QUOTE="Head_of_games"] RTS > TBSHead_of_games

I love RTS too though. CoH and DoW series are up there with my all time Favourite games.
TBS are great for someone like me, play at my own pace, go make a cuppa between turns, sort the kids out and so on

Total War games >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> RTS then cos you have to do both!IGN's review is up! :D
EDIT: I expected a little higher, honestly.

they don't really do 0.1 increments anymore do they?

I know. I'm no fun. :(Game will unlock in around 16 hours, can't wait. Civ 5 will be my game of the year.
System Requirements Lab says I can't run the game on minimum settings because I don't have a 1.8GHz Dual Core CPU, despite the fact I have a 3.22GHz Dual Core...
I'm going to take what they say with a grain of salt.
hypoty
Same here, it only sees that I have a 3.22GHz. It might be the type of processor.
It is coming so soon, and I cant wait. For Swedish gamers steam is a rip off, with some retailers selling hard copies for almost 10 EURO less (I see retailers going as low as 375 SEK which is around 40 Euro).
By the way, I mentioned earlier about forums complaining about lack of some multiplayer options (Simultanious Turns and only autosaves), after reading the manual I can confirm that the options are in the game thankfully as my generally impatient younger brother will have enough patience to play the game with me.
I see user scores on a few sites in the 7-8 range. They better be trolling. Still looks like an AAA (9.5) game to me.

The game does not have enough explosions or quick time events for my taste. Hell my scores are based on EPM (explosions per minute) :P.
That's because you don't PC game. :)Oh, it comes out in less than a day. I had no idea.

This may be my first strategy game for PC. They've always seemed daunting to me, especially the online. But it seems accesible enough for me to get into it, and if I enjoy it, I'll get in to the genre is a whole.

They seem to come and go for me.
Like when I was younger I played so much C&C: Red Alert, and WC2. Hours upon hours. I ate it for breakfast (without any milk), lunch, and dinner.
The next one I recall playing a ton of was Tiberian Sun, then Empire Earth 2, and then Civ IV, but I can tell you there have been tons of high quality ones within that time period.
Something changed in me I'm sure because I don't play strategy games like a maniac as I did with those mentioned games, and I don't anticipate many upcoming strategy games either.

For me, I basically don't have the time again, it's why I shy away from most RTS these days.

That's one of the factors for me, but I mainly don't have time becuase I spend it all playing TF2 or lurking these and other forums when I'm not at uni. :P
Trying to cut back though. It was 20 hours per week I was playing TF2, and now it's 10 hours, so.... :P
