It's mid-Thursday and there is STILL no professional reviews. Like WTF man?
Again I am not talking about individual scores, they are just as reliable as any paid "proffessional" reviewer, what I am actually talking about is the overall user score. If the majority of people liked the game, then the overall user score will end up being mostly positive.
I'd say for a game that comes from a totally unknown dev or one that doesn't have a huge fanbase or group of haters then yea, a couple months after release, the aggregate user score should be a ok reflection of general public opinion.
For a Ubisoft game a couple of days after launch? No way. Too many people like you who will bias user scores without even playing the game (not saying you are writing user reviews but many are). There are several sites/people I'd trust to give a more reasonable opinion.

Of course I dont solely put my trust on the overall user score alone, but it indicates that something is wrong.
I hate this current trend for games which is just "if we put levelling up in it and make people grind they'll love it!", like, mate I'm not playing fucking Runescape give me some meaningful content.

They got the game along with the public, so it'll take a couple of days...i'm expecting them being released on Saturday-Sunday.
That is pretty fucked man. I always take it as a bad sign when things aren't shown to reviewers prior to release...
Not like I am gonna buy this game to begin with, but I am curious to see how it scores.

Well, you're kinda right but the flipside is that the reviews will be more realistic, i mean they're experiencing the same exact thing.
I am expecting the game to score a 7 or 8 on most sites. It is a good game.
Same here.
Another game that I was excited for letting me down. SF5, division, Hitman.....all a bust
7-8 scores ain't reflect "let down" ...it means they're pretty good games.
Lets be real, if the reviews from big game sites are good some of you guys talking crap will sing a different tune.
@mjorh: I hear what you are saying, but I did not enjoy these games when I played them. I rarely bother with reviews, but I did not enjoy these games when I played them. Im not the typical SW poster, just going off the opinion of strangers.

Dunno why that would be, I played the beta and hated it, so no so-called professional could change my opinion about the game because in the end it will always be a bro op online shooter. I had my fill of those with Destiny.

Well, in that case you shouldn't buy them. i haven't played any of them yet , but planning to get Hitman once it's complete and maybe The Division.
i have played about 8 hours in two days and i can already tell the game will not have very long legs.. all of the missions are practically the same same as Destiny.. press this console, defend, repeat 70 times.
basically a running simulator and shoot two unsuspecting dudes, run some more..
i was really looking forward to it when it was announced.. all the delays and then watched some beta footage and turned me off.. instincts = correct
@WeepsForFools:
I think you just helped with my decision. I thought Destiny was the most boring game I had ever played.
How is the game multi player, but with strangers?
Pretty good. The organic transitions into multiplayer zones is probably the highlight of it for me. I know I'm always online but sometimes I forget when I'm on my own without chatting with others.
As for the gameplay itself, it's pretty clear having run missions co-op and solo that co-op is where it's balanced best. As far as I've seen from repeating 1 mission, enemy numbers don't change, just their hit points and damage, so it seems a lot easier to get flanked and overwhlemed when going in alone. Matchmaking works quickly and I haven't had issues with my connection outside maintenance, although it doesn't really care about your skills compared to another player, so you could end up with a party with no medic skills, no techie skills, or no security skills, all of which have their uses.
The in-game voice IP is really good. Too good honestly. People don't usually voice chat with non-friends, but you're still going to get morons with a loud open mic and open speakers right next to it, giving you heavy breathing, duplicate game sound, and other shit. I actually got matched up with someone with a japanese version once, and got to hear their voiceover, it was kind of hilarious.
Overall it's still going to be a much, much better experience with friends, especially with the friend trolling opportunities in the dark zone. But I think if you play alone and do matchmaking, you'll still enjoy it more than if you just go alone the entire game.
Complaints complaints complaints. Ladies and gentlemen get the wiiu CO sole and this problem you all have will be rectified.

Good to hear, I may the game up tomorrow, I personally had fun in the beta.

It's an MMO. Sort of. You never see a review for those at launch. Ubisoft said that they wanted reviewers actually have full experience and I agree with them. If you have a problem with that, nothing forces you to buy the game at launch. Also, it had an open "beta" (more like a demo) prior to release, so you could see it for yourself. And that's why I was confident enough to get the game at release.

That is what i have been saying and that's only from playing the beta. When you have spent over 60 minutes with an Ubisoft game, its the same as if you've spent 15h+. All their shit is so similar that there's almost no need of playing the actual game. All it takes is watch a trailer and you'll be 80% accurate of how the game's gonna be. Its sad really. This game was lacking and it became apparent since 2014. Worth a 7/10 tops but more like a 6/10.
@silversix_: then why are you still so interested in talking about it?
Because its a gaming forum bish.
What sort of content are people really looking for in a shooter? Especially an MMO shooter? MMOs have always needed time to be mature so I find it bizzare that everyone seem so disappointed every time a newly launched MMO are a little bare bones in stuffs to do. People haven't learn a thing. If you are wary, lay off any MMO purchase for at least 2-3 months (personally Ive waited up to 6 months) unless you really want the excitement of being there at the start (then its your choice and you are responsible for everything).
Especially reviews, I mean really are people that daft? You expect reviews on a new MMO on LAUNCH DAY? or even before? Not only it makes zero business sense but even from a gamer POV, you need to spend more time with a MMO to come up with a review unlike smaller scope games. OTOH, a review will quickly become obsolete since MMOs by its nature are always ever-changing. A MMO can be unplayable one day but the next it can be a complete 180. Tweaks, nerfs, stability etc etc all can change in a single patch. Myself, I gauge whether a MMO is worth my time and money at how I perceive the developers are dedicated to commit to their product(obviously the game has to first capture my attention). MMO really is a long term entertainment package but most gamers are really tourists so they always end up disappointed.
@TheEroica: Most people will with any big game being released by any AAA studio. With such a hype wagon behind this game before it was released it's hardly surprising giving Ubisofts track record that people were going to be sceptical and take to the reviews to decide for themselves rather than actually trying it for themselves.
@gunmason: sure, but it doesn't change the fact that it's a day 1 sampling of a game, it's launch window and user scores and reviews on day 1 are littered with twitch reactions ranging anywhere from, "the server is down ", hence the game sux" to "major downgrade confirmed!". . Shouldn't people play the game a little while before taking to a user review?
@TheEroica: Well with Twitch and youtube gaining more and more users aswell as these sort of review sites , it's much easier for anyone that's interested in the game to simply watch it on Twitch or a game review site and make their decision based on what they see. If this happens to be bad then of course they won't waste their time even trying it and will even share their bad views with other people without ever playing the game themselves, which is bad for any game.
