The GTAIV Kickass Hype/Discussion Thread (56k) - KEEP IT HERE OR BE SUSPENDED!

I hate the Grand Theft Auto series, but I would look into getting Grand Theft Auto IV if I did get a 360 or PS3.

It's weird saying that I don't care about a 10 out of 10 game, the first console one since 1999, but I just don't. *Shrugs.* Banjo Kazooie 3, and pretty much every other game on 360 and PS3 excites me more.

And we just got Okami Wii, so I have more than enough to hold me. Mario Kart Wii, too. Have fun with GTA IV. Just don't expect everyone to care about, because I really don't. If it got any other score, I wouldn't even bother looking into it.

Imagine this scenario...it could happen...

PS3 verion gets a 10 on GameSpot. Xbox 360 version gets a 9.5. Even though no-one would technically be owned (since the hype is AAA), lemmings would never hear the end of it from cows. And this MIGHT happen. GameSpot has given multiplat games 0.5 score higher on a platform that plays slightly better. So, yeah...PS3 version could get a 10, and 360 a 9.5. System wars would explode.

The thing is at IGN they got both EXACTLY the same score, not even .1 different. So it's pretty unlikely GS will find reason for a whole .5.

Most of my friends have the 360 version

lol. I'm not a cow. I'm a shemming. I don't even own a PS3, so I'm getting the 360 version. But, I read IGN's review, and if everything they said is true, then I can see GameSpot being nitpicky and scoring the PS3 version higher. I'm not saying this is likely to happen...I'm just saying there is an outside chance and it could happen.

yeah, i would go with the 360 version. from what i've read the graphical differences weren't big enough to keep the 360 version from getting a 10 on ign and you also have the choice to get the dlc if it's that good.

I only own a PS3, but if I had a 360, I would definitely go with that version.

To reject the opportunity for DLC because of a small graphical difference in just crazy IMO.

GameSpot's Review = Doesn't Matter! IGN called it first and that's that... GTAIV (a.k.a. Potential GOTY) is clearly what NEXT GEN is all about! thefjk

Im just more hype for MGS4 than GTA4. Its just a personal taste. This game will fulfill my gaming needs till MGS4 comes out. I just can't get hype for this game as some people are.

I will be standing in line for my copy of GTA4 at midnight I hope. Already paid for also, so all I have to do is sweep in and leave. I will also pick up a DS3 while Im at it also.

I doubt that would happen, look at madden 08, the 360 version ran at 60FPS, while the PS3 ran at 30FPS and was choppy. IMO that is a bigger difference than this case, but they both scored 8.5

Same..GTA IV with multiplayer is going to be awesome and the graphics for this game are alright...I am happy with the graphics because so far what I seen, they have passed my expectations.

When I first saw the stills of the game I was a little skeptical, however the game looks rediculously good in motion. The video review completely changed my mind.
