meh. boring
Winter from The Last of Us is still one of my favorite segments from a video game. The trailer for #2 was compelling
Man Sony teases games way too early... This won't be out for years. Now every time they have a conference, they have to show something from it or people will be disappointed. Just like Death Stranding. Should only start showing something once you have actual gameplay of it IMO.
Lol! Sony just made Microsoft their bitch. This year PlayStation got VR, Uncharted 4, PS Pro, The Last Guardian, the best console version of all multiplats with the best controller and God of War 4, Horizon, Death Stranding, FF7 and The Last of Us 2 all coming out 2017/18. Meanwhile Lemmings are left out in the cold with their puny pricks in their hand getting duked up the butt playing multiplats in STANDARD DEFINITION, Staring at some stat sheet for some overpriced turd with no exclusives, no class a no chance in hell while Microsoft invests 25 Billion into some bullshit website. At this point if you're an Xbone fanboy you're either subhuman intelligence level or a total masochist. No if ands or buts about it.

Yeah and you can bet on them doing so next E3 to try and match Microsoft's revealing of the most powerful console ever made.

i can't wait for the big xbox exclusives built for project scorpio. like halo 6, forza, and, uhh... drawin a blank here
i do hope they don't downgrade the AI this time around .....AI wasn't satisfying and ND showed sth else in the trailers.
So... How many times do we have to push Ellie on a raft in this one? Also, do we get to lift some beams and other obstacles that you can clearly get past like in Uncharted?
lol , i hated those parts ... i think they were there ONLY for the sake of story and narrative ...they didn't contribute anything to the gameplay

Hey turd fanboy you seem to forget that Microsoft is the one doing well recently. Xbox One S sells are doing great in North America and UK. In fact they have outsold the PS4 for four straight months in America. Next year the Xbox Scorpio the most powerful console ever made is going to have real 4k games. All the multiplats are going to run better on it since it's more powerful than the PS4 Pro. Oh and Xbox does have console games to play so unless you are stupid which I am guessing you fanboys are you should really stop saying that. Because a game is on the PC too doesn't make that game stop existing for console gamers. So enjoy the years of trailers for these games.

The worst thing is they keep recycling those elements. I don't mind pushing her on a raft one time, but they need to mix up the puzzle elements. Ever since Druckmann and Straley started leading projects, the puzzles have gone down hill at Naughty Dog. I like their story telling expertise, but they need to make sure that all aspects of the game are given proper attention.

Their are no exclusives built for Scorpio like they are none for the PS4 pro either.

Lol.
I loved the first games storyline and the fighting zombies but I felt there were too many battles with psychotic humans for my taste. Still at good 8/10 game for me and I am looking forward to the game.
I have feeling that Joel is actually dead and he was in her imagination.
Someone needs to make them sit in a room and play The Division and Gears 4 to learn how to do responsive third person controls properly
let the fanboy circle jerk begin
The Division? GTFO. TLOU and Uncharted are just fine. Moving from cover to cover like a robot with little other movement is not what I would call good controls.

He's right tho, granted it's more realistic in TLOU, but it's more fun in Gears 4 and The Division
Let's be honest here. This is now the most anticipated exclusive and will be the best-selling exclusive of the generation if ND delivers similar to the first game. No if, and or buts. Sony dropped their trump card today.

i agree with that part but not sure about its sales

I hated the controls in the division. And now the gameplay was not fun. Let's shoot a normal human to 5 because bullets sponge is the mechanic we know. Plus let's not forget the joke that the wannabee strikes/raids were in The Division. Gears sure I'll them credit for being good although still too mechanical for me. The Division is shit mechanically coming from someone who played a ton of Destiny.
I knew it was coming. Sony's Naughty Dog is not a hit it and quit it developer. Since the PS1, they create a universe and they explore it. They were NEVER going to abandon TLOU's universe in one shake.
Naughty Dog's last five games all hit 90+ metascores, so this game should please the majority of gamers. Of course, the minority of detractors don't care, and that's fine as TLOU did incredible in sales and scores even with the the detractors lack of support.
If ND felt this is what they wanted to do, then great. I am behind them 100% on whatever releases they grace us with.
I said a year ago in another thread begging for ND to not live up to their nature and explore their universes they create with a few sequels:
ND is unlike many other developers in that they are allowed to follow their creative passion.
If that ND drive and passion leads to a TLOU2, then I want it. I want whatever the team conjures up.
This is why I follow developers and not franchises. It's like asking Bioware to stop making Mass Effect after the trilogy.
People don't know what they want, until they see it. People didn't know they wanted to play Crash Bandicoot, Jak & Daxter, Uncharted, or The Last of Us until after Naughty Dog created those games. I trust them and I don't like the idea of telling a fantastic studio something is off limits when Sony gives them a lot of slack. Uncharted wouldn't even exist as they were making Jak 4, but ND was allowed the freedom to explore that concept and we got a new IP out of it.
I say let Naughty Dog do what they want to do, as their products are high points for the industry (90+ metascoring developer).
There a lot of stories in the TLOU universe that have nothing to do with Joel and Ellie, although I don't mind seeing them again either. That said, I would take a new IP or Jak game from them as well. Whatever they end up creating, I'm down.
I have confidence in the studio and I believe others should as well.

TLOU sold over 7 million on PS3 and likely over 10 million when including the PS4 remaster. Don't see any other game beating it out. I don't think does Zelda really does huge numbers and not sure a remaster of Splatoon, Smash Bros or Mario Kart will push major units either, but those are only ones I see possibly competing.

I was referring more to the aiming and overall responsiveness, I actually prefer non-sticky cover like what TLOU had. It just felt really sluggish overall, like the entire game took place underwater
No one but the most hardcore lems really cares about Halo 5 anymore, it was released and forgotten about as soon as it came out. People everywhere care about TLOU 2 for a reason, it's the sequel to one of the best games of last gen. TLOU is know for its gripping story, memorable characters, and solid gameplay. No amount of salt from you will change this fact.
Nope.
A bit disappointed. Was expecting a new IP from ND. At least there is Horizon and Days Gone to look forward to. The rest is sequel and sequel.

The Last of Us: Part 2 is gonna be pretty big though. First game was a huge success as a new IP. I can already see it being huge with lets plays. The Last of Us as a franchise has far more potential than Uncharted ever did, which started out relatively small.
If you thought the gameplay was top notch in Halo 5 I can't think of a single FPS you wouldn't describe as 'top notch'. It was dull as **** not just because they thrashed the idea of explaining the characters and story but because the entire thing was geared towards MP. I can't think of a more boring FPS I have played there must be one but nothing springs to mind. Truly terrible game.
You are entitled to your opinion of TLOU, I thought the gameplay was excellent, better than most Uncharted games apart from 2 and about 5 billion trillion times better than Halo 5 and you seem to have no problem with 353 insulting people's intelligence by completely omitting plot and narrative and delivering the most plain by the numbers drivel imaginable for one of the biggest FPS franchises of all time.
In other words, you hate Sony and love MS. Everything you post is based purely on that. One of the most popular games of last gen (and to an extent this one) and you want to shit on it because it didn't come from Microsoft while at the same thing bigging up absolute drivel from MS. That's kind of pathetic dude.
It's 2016. Nobody plays Halo for its story any more. Turned into a mess after Halo 2. Stopped caring after Halo 3.
I already knew this was getting a sequel anyways ever since Nolan North talk about ND was working on TLOU2, we just had to wait for Naughty Dogs official announcement.
*Also about this trailer, this is all my observation* I think Joel is dead and Ellie is hallucinating. He enters the scene through an all white glowing "paradise-like" door. He is there to confirm (in Ellie's head) the reason as to why she is on a killing spree (because someone/the fireflies killed Joel). Hence, he says "you sure you are going through with this kiddo?". Ellie responds "I will find and kill every last one of them" What would make her so mad and frustrated?

To us PC gamers? yeah. but overall, no.
So... How many times do we have to push Ellie on a raft in this one? Also, do we get to lift some beams and other obstacles that you can clearly get past like in Uncharted?
Yeah... because that was literally all you did in the game. You are absolutely spot on once again, just like when you said FFXV was 'not worthy of reviewing' and sold faster than any FF game in history to the many millions of people who love FF.
You're a clueless tool. Go play some shit indie game with SNES-like graphics on your amazing PC in 60fps.

That's only because Halo no longer has a story and is just a lunchtime break shoot-out. I liked Halo 4 and expected at least that level of competency from 343 with 5 but they ditched the whole thing and went full-on MP. I saw an interview with a 343 'designer' who looked all of 16 years old and had a baseball cap on backwards presumably to announce how cool he is to everyone and couldn't string a single intelligible sentence together then Halo 5 happened and I said 'yeah, that all adds up'.

Yeah that could do it. Never bet against Pokemon incredible staying/selling power, but it depends on how well the Switch sells.

You may actually be pushing Joel on this one, lol.
"Earlier in the panel, Druckmann also revealed that players will take control of Ellie in The Last of Us: Part 2. In the first game Joel was playable character, and this reversal extends into the underpinning theme of hate."
Very pleased. Love to wake up to good news.
One thing: I hope they don't strip Ellie of her humanity and turn her into some one-dimensional killing machine cliche. Obviously, the Fireflies are still involved. Potential future spoilers ahead: Joel killed Marlene whom Ellie cared greatly for, then lied to Ellie about it. Ellie says she's going to murder everyone of them (which leads me to believe she's referring to the Fireflies considering the spray painted sign and numerous corpses around her), who Joel probably framed them killing Marlene, and now Ellie's seeking revenge on them not knowing that Marlene's murderer has been alongside her all this time.
I can't help but think the lie told at the end of the first game is going to play a huge role front and center in the sequel. This plot line would also allow for a lot of flexibility and drama in being able to not only present a impetus for driving their character arcs forward while also allowing for potential lethal conflict between Ellie and Joel for the climax. If I were to bet money, I'd be putting it on this general plot direction.

I like Ellie. I don't mind having her as the main playable character. She can definitely hold her own after all that she has been through.

Agreed. Even as a kid, it was great to play as her in Left Behind.
I mean, i could say that this game is better than anything coming out on the Xbone but at this point and time, even Knack 2 is better than Bone exclusives lmao. Sell your Xbones, its not too late.
I'm quite excite about this. I wonder what they are going to do with the encounter system. I liked how dynamic and thoughtful the gameplay could get in the first game.
