PS3 release.

Another ND game, so i expect every weirdo who bows and licks the feet of SONY to do their worst and forget humans have a brain.

Emotional? no

Graphically amazing? sure if you have not played anything else before or after.

Amazing game play and game? yeah a shame about those AI bugs, like being able to glitch the AI so they can't even attack you, very smart AI, on top of this it's an easy as all hell game to play, easily torn apart from it's pseudo world it tries to be.

Just as over hyped as almost every ND game? yes.

I'm beginning to regret getting a PS3 7 months ago.

Sell your PS 3 , sell TLOU copy all all PS 3 games you bought. Never buy a PS 4. Get over with it :)

I was disappointed with it after readying all the hype on here but it's still an amazing game.

I can understand the Uncharted games being in the high 80's and 90's but this game, I will never for the life of me understand why it got rated so highly...

You like Ryse and The Order so you wouldn't know a great game if it hit you in the face.

Overhyped would be something like Quantum Break. People expecting a 90+ rated caliber game and ended up with a AA title.

TLoU exceeded expectations scoring better than Uncharted 2. It delivered on the hype surrounding it. 95 on metacritics? Yeah. It's universally enjoyed.

CSGO is a great game, has no story, it's a competitive shooter which requires master degree of skill to get good at.

Planetary Annihilation is a great game.

DMC and Bioshock Infinite are miles ahead of TLOU and they released the same year.

I don't find it to be all that "great", you can and that's just fine, but I'm not you. It's a good game, but the critical acclaim it garnered is absurd, especially with some of the worst AI seen in a modern mainstream game. It's a game entirely about captivating immersion in the game world and you're constantly pulled out of it by horrible coding.

The Last of Us is a great game- it's actually one of the rare instances of a game living up to the hype.

TC, you will find that your estimation of the game will improve with time, as you look back on it and reflect upon the experience.

TLOU is one of those games that you either hate it or love it. I'm one of the guys who love the game. It is not everybody's cup of tea but it is sure as heck the cup of tea for a lot of people.

Well see that's the issue, the critical acclaim doesn't reflect this, everyone seem to be aware that you either like it or you don't yet one look at the reviews and you'd think it's not possible to dislike the game or think lesser of it.

There didn't seem to be any dissenting opinion's in the reviews, which I found quite odd, especially with the amount of people who have expressed it not being for them.

I don't think TLOU is a love it or hate it game. It's universally beloved and the people that hate it are just weird. A better example of a love it or hate it game would be something like Resident Evil 6.

It is definitely not one of the games that is love it or hate it. I can't think of anyone who has actively hated the game.

Illiteracy seems to be a contagious disease around these parts, where did I say it wasn't a success or I couldn't comprehend it being one? I said I do not understand the level of acclaim it received, big difference...

Stay in school.

People who have not played many other games? bad taste? love broken games? love when a game is a walk over then tell everyone how hard it is?

The only ones that hate it are the ones who can't stand games or things in general that are popular, it some how splinters their ego, wanting to feel different and go against it....and be the "rebel" so to speak, It makes them feel better. Overall they know deep down the quality of the games like Last of us is there, they just won't admit it.

That's an odd game to choose, most people disliked Resident Evil 6, this includes not only the reviewers but the community as well. What the reviewers said directly translated to the community's reaction to the game.

lol yeah. I get called out as a lem pretty regularly even though I own a PS4, PC and a WiiU, don't own an Xbone, and haven't owned a 360 since 2008.

The broken AI is literally the most documented problem with the game, you're not getting out of this one.

I see.

Well, I am sorry you did not enjoy your time with the game- I honestly really think The Last of Us is one of the best examples of interactive storytelling, as well as the rare instance of a game that actually meets the hype. I think it is a game with something meaningful to say, and that it says it well. I think it never lets its storytelling ambition hinder its gameplay.

Generally speaking, I am apathetic towards Naughty Dog at best, and outright contemptuous of them at worst (I don't like Crash Bandicoot, Jak and Daxter, or any Uncharted game except for Among Thieves, and it's not secret that I'm not looking forward to Uncharted 4 at all). I definitely think they are an overrated studio. And yet I really, really enjoyed The Last of Us. I legitimately thought it was a great game, and it being a Naughty Dog title had nothing to do with that. That said, you played the game, you did not enjoy it. I respect your opinion, and I respect the fact you gave the game a fair shot before forming any opinion on it.

I loved Crash Bandicoot games, ND just seem to have sagged with the 7th? generation games, i hope they really go to town on PS4 with UC4 for you guys who like it, i really do, i won't be buying it though as it's like a bad coffee.

I used to enjoy COD and it got continually worse.. that coffee taste again.

Nope i didn't, the guy's implying that the A.I is stupid, sure it doesn't perform as realistically...and yes ND aimed for such realism (target render)...but you know down the line in developement things get scaled down to improve otherthings, etc. This isn't uncommon. Also, it could have been a selling point, where it was deliberately made better to get people more impressed by it, etc. Otherwise on GROUNDED the game is very hard.....regardless on how the A.I performs. This compensates for the lack of realism intelligence. Anyways, Last of us 2 will no doubt adopt all this with better hardware, etc.

What was the last CoD you enjoyed?

Selll your PS 3 , sell TLOU. Never buy PS 4. Get over with it :)

And obligatory video before people say i'm full of it.

If grounded is hard then you would not stand 2 minutes on RE2's Expert mode or RE1 HD Remake's Real Survival mode.

RE2 expert mode is only on the PC/DC release so most won't know about it but it's real as i shall prove with my own video.

@rekonmeister: I liked the game alot. Definitely one of the best experience I have had in games. My experience was terrific mature story, terrific characters intense combat. AI could have been better but never experienced highlight reel level of buggy AI shown on that youtube clip. I think critics experienced more along the same way as I did. I don't expect games like this to have DMC level of combat or Counter Strike. SW is known for dumb shitty opinions but an opinion is an opinion. This game I will defend to death lol. A fantastic experience that I can never forget. Deserves all the credits on my book. ND character interaction dialogue during gameplay is perfected with this game.

And by the way as a fan of Gran turismo. GT6 was a disappointment.

@dynamitecop: Well, of course. Average is average. Grade C isn't as good as Grade B.

Original black ops though that was close to a write off at the beginning on PC, but it was patched.

@rekonmeister: I've played through TLOU several times and never saw anything like what's in that video happen. Video is so obviously biased and had to be on the easiest game setting.

Last of Us is one of those rare titles that offers an exceptional single player experience as well as an incredibly unique and addicting multiplayer. No other MP is like it.

People said this with Gran Turismo 5.

That thing was hideous at release, my dad had it...

Yeah, that's also where I lost interest in the series haha. Black Ops was incredible- everything after that? Not so much.

@rekonmeister: TLOU mp is completely skill based (except the shotgun is retarded) and requires tactical teamwork. It has some of the best map designs in a multiplayer game ever, with multiple ways to utilize flanks, cover and key map points. It has a steep learning curve because it is so tactical and team based- not many games only have you starting the match with 7 or 8 bullets like this one. Every shot counts

I have this on Dreamcast, unless you can do no damage runs it's impossible to beat, I'll never beat this mode, I've tried.

Yeah i got COD GHOSTS... played it a bit, never again.

It's absolute garbage and uses the console system to match players which does not work the best, though MW2 perfected it.

Even with way more PC horsepower than the game needed lag was a major issue and it just ate everything you threw at it for no reason.
