So far, I'd give it an 8.5. Why? Because the AI isn't exactly the greatest when it should be a lot better. I can count about 5 times where Tess or Ellie ran out and stood in front of enemies about 2 feet away. And I've barely gotten anywhere so far, I still have Tess with me, even.

Also, enemy AI is a little wonky and knows exactly where you are sometimes despite not even seeing or hearing you.

Finally played it. Definitely not he second coming as cows chant, but it's a quality game. King_Dodongo

My issues are plot holes because of game design. Joel and Tess take the job in order to get weapons back. Yet I could've had 100's of weapons if they didn't some how disappear after I killed someone who was JUST SHOOTING at me. And why do I pick up more ammo from infected than military? 8.0-8.5 imo.cainetao11

For me this isn't really an issue. You are not meant to like or love all characters. Sometimes characters like this are needed in a game and imo this fit in well with this game.

The issues I have with the game that are bigger issues imo are the ai issues and how the game drags on at a few spots.

Still an amazing game and up there with Metro Last Light for my GOTY so far.

So he didn't like Joel. Ooookei. I absolutely hate the horrible acting in Twillight, but my lil' female cousin would think i'm crazy as hell. I don't care. It's my thing.

Here i'm trying to wake my ass up with a couple of coffees, and the stupid ass thread starter makes me go down and drown my self in a few other beers to forget what i read.

I understand the psychopath comment was a bit far out there, but Toms reasoning for hating the main character is just rediculous. It's like we didn't play the same game at all.

@TC, he just asks a question about Joel's motivations. The others even say "that's a good question," because it is. I could think his motivation is different from what you thought. Not liking the character is all a matter of opinion, I didn't like Ellie all that much, I connected to Joel way more. Badosh

People sure like to hide behind metacritic, but if it really was the reviewing standard you cared about, this shit would have been dropped a long, long time ago. 

Can't bitch about Tom's review incessantly and then say only metacritic matters. 

Damm, this flop still got some people butthurt!  Ya I'm going to vote this as flop of the year, possibly a runner-up for flop of the generation too, considering how much butthurt it has generated.

After finishing the game, I think Tom is nuts. Joel's goal was very clearly established and the ending was absolutely perfect.
