[QUOTE="ActicEdge"]False, not even the best game on the SNES.ZevianderTruth. Although my SNES Holy Trinity is: 1. Super Metroid 2. Yoshi's Island 3. A Link to the Past
Chrono Trigger edges out LttP for me and I would swap 1 & 2 but overall, we have similar taste :P
I'm pretty sure there's a difference between highest rated game of all time and greatest game of all time. meetroid8
especially considering they were reviewed by different people.
Hey, I was just asking a question. No need to get so butthurt.[QUOTE="Michael0134567"][QUOTE="ShadowMoses900"]
In both.
Now go LOL at me elsewhere, I don't care if you like my opinion or not. It's just my opinion.
ShadowMoses900
Not butthurth. Just a bit iritated, but not angry. I'm tired of people patronizing me over a difference of opinion.
You haven't played the best 2D platformer of the gen, Super Meat Boy. I don't really get how you can say LBP has good platforming though. It's so floaty.I mean comparing this to this is just laughable.
Wii games have lower standards. Can't compare games between platforms.Sushiglutton
nope. its a close 2nd but its not better.[QUOTE="mems_1224"][QUOTE="ActicEdge"]
Super Metroid > LttP
ActicEdge
Disagree, Yoshi's Island > Super Metroid (which depedning on the day) > Chrono Trigger > LttP
i never got to play yoshi's island :( i've played chrono trigger but never beaten it. its a good game but growing up i was never big on rpgs until i played knights of the old republic on xbox. that was kind of a turning point for me. plus growing up i had to rely on whatever games my brother bought for all our consoles since my parents never bought me games.[QUOTE="Sushiglutton"]Wii games have lower standards. I think Chrono Trigger is more something that you either love or just enjoy. I really love the game for what it brings to the table but for one not heavily into RPGs its nothing special I have to admit.

i started playing it when i got my 3ds and its a great game, i just started getting distracted by other games. the music was pretty awesome though.[QUOTE="BPoole96"]
I will still consider OoT to be the best game of all time.
DJ-Lafleur
But majora's mask exists...
I loved Majora's Mask but the 3 day time reset made things kind of tedious. The dungeons in OoT were much more enjoyable for me. Finally figuring out the Water Temple or best scared sh1tless by the redeads and slimy hand guys that were in the Shadow Temple and Bottom of the Well in the Village. Majora's Mask did not have any memorable dungeons or bosses. I played OoT when I was 9 and vividly remember just about everything about the game. I think I was 12 or 13 when I played Majora's Mask and barely remember anything.[QUOTE="Sushiglutton"]Wii games have lower standards. Can't compare games between platforms.g0ddyX

Just a terrible troll with a terrible taste. His opinion is worthless. Leave it at that.
*lists FF7* *talks about nostalgia* g0ddy, no one can take you seriously on anything you say about Nintendo. Like, ever.[QUOTE="charizard1605"][QUOTE="g0ddyX"]
This. Can't really dispute it.
Majority of gamers would have had better gaming experiences elsewhere, offline and online.
Like, Team Fortress 2, Uncharted, Half Life 2, FF7, Gears, Mass Effect, Halo, MGS, Kotor, Portal, Resident Evil, Assassains Creed, Batman, COD, Max Payne etc etc.
Not to mention Mods, fan created and other viral stuff.
Nostalgia at its best, perhaps.ActicEdge
Just a terrible troll with a terrible taste. His opinion is worthless. Leave it at that.
I wouldn't say his tastes are terrible, but that's hypocrisy at it's finest.1. Pretty sure that the game industry cares more about MetaCritic than GameRankings.
2. Ocarina of Time is still the greatest game ever made (especially for it's time) regardless of a number.
3. The way GameRankings lets some reviews go after certain conditions are met is stupid.
4. Super Mario Galaxy 2 is better than the original anyway.
DarkLink77
It shouldn't. Metacritic is a weighted review agrigation site. They give more value to certain sites than others. Seems unreliable for that reason.
Not when it comes to RANKING games. Metacritic is reliable when it comes to aggregate scores, but people always use GameRankings for... rankings.1. Pretty sure that the game industry cares more about MetaCritic than GameRankings.

All this bickering and arguing for games that are pathetic. This is The Greatest Game Of All Time. With an awesome F'king OST.

If you weren't there to see Ocarina of Time when it did things people couldn't imagine resulting in a major impact on the industry, you have no right to comment. This game was a marvel and way ahead of its time. Nothing as impressive relative to its time has happened since as far as I know.

I played through it on 3DS and while the overall scale of the game felt small after playing Twilight Princess and Wind Waker, it still felt very modern (considering the series hasn't really changed that much, it should).

Right...
And this is coming from someone who played it for the first time 2 years ago... AND not a huge fan of Zelda games.

I can't agree with that. Though a great game, SMG2 feels like an expansion pack most of the time and doesn't have the same punch as the original. I think calling it Super Mario Galaxy: The Lost Levels would have made more sense. It lacks the knew car smell, but the level design, the variety, the challenge, even the boss stuff is better done in Mario Galaxy 2.[QUOTE="DarkLink77"]

I agree... a lot.
It's just impossible to go back to that wussy little sword range. It's just wrong on so many levels. Plus the Oracle Games and LA had plenty of great dungeons that more than go toe to toe with what LTTP had to offer. Great game in 1994, but it's OoT status where enough people don't give enough credit to the clearly superior follow ups.[QUOTE="campzor"][QUOTE="Pikminmaniac"]so its only good because of its impact and not for what it is? gotcha. No, it's a great game regardless. lol:roll:
