This is true. Skyward Sword absolutely deserved a 10. The game is absolutely brilliant.

McShea just likes to be controversial so that GameSpot will get more ad revenue.

It wouldn't surprise me if the higher-ups at CBS gave McShea a bonus for reviewing Skyward Sword the way he did.

Super Mario Galaxy 2 wasn't "radically different" from Super Mario Galaxy...and that still got a 10?

The whole point of sequels is to utilize the foundations set by the predecessor and make a new experience out of that.

If it was "radically different" it wouldn't be called Zelda anymore.

Regardless, McShea will score Mario Kart either 6.5 or 7.

GameSpot really has been ragging on Nintendo franchises all through this year...for no good reason.

Some of the game decisions are baffling. I can't see this game getting higher than AA since all the stupid design choices retro decided to make. No versus mode. Gimped Online system. I was in awe over the gameplay but some of these design choices where you have to play the grand prix to play one level again is stupid. Huge disappointment

The lack of SP Vs Mode I agree is stupid, but gimped online system, lol what? And didn't Retro just only make a couple tracks in this game?

After reading a few previews/information -

Comments:
1. Only 6 Battle Stages, I wish they add some more.
2. R.O.B. and Dry Bones are no longer playable. I likeusing R.O.B. in theDS game.
3. Mission Mode seems to be gone.
4. Boo and Fake item Boxare missing from the items list. And I likeusing Fake Item Box :(
5. Shine Runners has been replaced by Coin Battle
6. There seems to be more Karts on the original DS (not including wheels customization)

I think its still gonna be a solid 8.5-9.0.

What no Mission Mode too (then again I probably shouldn't be surprise since SP Vs mode is supposedly not in and it wasn't in MKWii)? I really hope the online is going to be great, but of course I want content for SP, but it looks like they fixed Battle Mode a bit after it was stripped down in MKWii. Honestly I have a feeling that the lack of these will hurt the game a bit so I can't see it getting AAA for sure now.

Well, snaking (iMO) ruined the online of MK DS. I hope Ninty didsomething to fix it.

Liking what I've heard about this game so far. Wish they'd remove the Blooper, too, as it's one of the most worthless weapons in the game. Nice to hear the game is less chaotic and more skill-focused, although I think limiting the blue shell so that it never appears after, say, at least one person has started the last lap (to avoid all those last-second losses due to a blue shell right before the finish line) would have been nice. Courses look nice, too, but what else would you expect from Retro?

I thought Mission Mode was a nice new feature plus I enjoyed making an Emblem for my kart but hopefully the game will have enough to nail a 9.

Depth is alright but when the entire race becomes a snake fest, it just simply isn't fun.

The online structure and hacking are what ruined it, not the snaking. I can understand the frustration with those that never bothered to really put any effort into the depth of the game, but for people like myself it was a very very rewarding experience. In fact, the blue shell didn't even matter when because the die-hard players would be neck and neck a lot of the times that using the blue shell would be using it on yourself, as well. There was a learning aspect as well. When you fell behind, you could witness how the racer in front cut some time off of the lap. Great game.

What would have helped the situation for everybody is if you were matched with people with similar lap times. This way the snakers would get grouped with other snakers.

I think it stands a great chance of toppling Mario 3DS Land though.

As opposed to...the racing itself? It was refreshing having such a die hard Nintendo game. It reminded me of the 16bit days.

Meh after seeing a video of FP view while going through Rainbow Road (which looks great BTW) I sticking to TP.
