So they play better than Mario Kart is what you're saying?Asphalt Adrenaline 6 and Real Racing 2 destroy it in the racing game department.

Won't Metal Mario be heavier than other characters, leading to slower movement through water and decreased flight time?Metal Mario is going to be my main. :D Sad for Lubba tho. :(

How many mario games have been released for the past 10 years? and then they blame call of duty :P.. anyways i'll vote for AAAA just for the lulz
Haha, this isn't a Mario game. It's completely different, but it features Mario characters. It's a very fun Kart racer, you should check it out! Anyway, to answer your question, there have been four Mario games in the last ten years (Sunshine, Galaxy, New Super Mario Bros Wii and Galaxy 2) [QUOTE="Shinobishyguy"]does this game really have a AAA hype :? this is why polls are flawed To be fair, AAA hype for this game seems highly reasonable. How many mario games have been released for the past 10 years? and then they blame call of duty :P.. anyways i'll vote for AAAA just for the lulz

not really, not when only one game in the franchise has gotten AAA and this looks like more of the same (regardless of how good it looks)ShinobishyguyI'm sure if GS had been around in the SNES days, they would have rated Super Mario Kart a AAA too. And this game looks just good enough to warrant AAA hype. But we'll see.

Ae. The last Mario Kart had some serious balance issues and wasn't much of an upgrade from Double Dash to boot.
The only "balance" issue, I'd say is sometimes the blue shell is stupid in that last place can get an item that benefits them in no way. However to be honest, Mario Kart is not a game I play "competitively" either. Me and my friends love to trade Ghost Data for time trials, that's fun, but when it comes to just playing this game, who cares about balance? My fun with Mario Kart is having those "Oh Snap!" moments where someone pulls ahead the last second, an unexpected shell hits you and you lose 3 or even 6 positions, and you and your friends just have fun with the game.Ae. Despite the jaggies, as shown on the screenshots, I'd say a good 8.0 to 9.0, I hope there will no cheap AI and they fixed Battle mode(Yes, I'm looking at you Mario Kart Wii!).
Will there be offline mission mode?
Forza 4 score 8.5 here........i don't think MK7 it will score more than 7 here.AtariKidX
What are you trying to compare? Both are different racing games.
I think it will get between 8-8.5 here on GS .. so my prediction is AAE .. nonetheless, it is going to be a must buy for me as any MK game 8)
I dont know why, but for some reason I am far more hyped up for the online changes than the actual game. But my hype level for this is AA.
The community system looks extremely interesting. It doesnt seem as good as servers on PC, but it still looks like a really well done feature. Ten times better than typical matchmaking with no real control over what maps and settings you will use.
I'm guessing AAAE.
Also Charizard I noticed you didn't Mention that Retro Studios was also helping with the development of Mario Kart 7.
I think they are designing some tracks for Mario Kart 7.

.......... Dude the rubberband mechanics BLEW.. Where you could go from first to last place at any time due to the last player always getting extremely powerful items... The old SNES or 64 version never had something like that, that was so blantant.. There is entirely too much luck involved in the game, which makes things worse when the last 3 to 4 drivers get all these ridiculous items every mystery box.. And you don't have to play compeitively to understand how lame those mechanics are.

Yeah, the rubberband was one of the games biggest flaws, if not the biggest.
Mario Kart DS had it to some extent, but in there it was more around the fact that Mystery boxes gave players what would be most benefitial for their position. In other words, the person leading would be getting items to slow down the people behind him, while those last place would get items to help him catch up. The one second place would get items to try to snag the lead, ect. It didnt bother me too much.

Yeah the problem was the Wii had that too but SUPER charged in literally having super powerful buffs guarenteed if you were in last place.. In the classics like the SNES version, even in last place you were lucky to get certain things like the shrink storm.
You're right, they did design one track in the game. I'll add that in to the OP.I'm guessing AAAE.

If they do away with snaking, I shall be very happy. I'm betting on AA.
Calvin079
Dummy down the game? No Way! Perhaps make it a little more difficult to do, but Mario Kart with snaking is far more hardcore than Forza/GT. People really get into it! What I do hope is that they figure out a way to stop the cheating.
Going to go for a AA hype. Glad they change the blue shell a bit which hopefully this and getting rid of a couple other items like the annoying lighting cloud are signs that they're toning down the cheapness that went to the extreme in MKWii. I guessing mission mode is not in or isn't revealed yet if there will be one? Anyway overall I am really impress with alot of the online stuff and I say we should come up with a community here.:)Won't be getting this day one since the release date is pretty close to Xmas so I am going to wait for little bit.
Also meh at the two new characters but I probably end up trying both at least once.

Snaking basically is cheating; it is in essence exploiting the drifting mechanic for your own personal gain.Yeah, I think I'll form the official Gamespot Community once I get the game, unless you want to? Fine, I think I will make the community then. I'll change the thread title to decide on the rules for the community once the game nears release! Please Log In to post.
