Given the epic reaction to one game flopping I think that's for the best. Underhype every single game, you'll never end up disappointed.

If the big names have flopped, then I don't think any game has done it.

I'm hyping Tales of the Abyss AA for February. The original version got a 7 I think here on GS.

I dunno, I'd think the enjoyment I get out of it personally is the only thing that matters.

I mean, its Mario Kart. You like it, you buy it. You don't, eh.

No more falling into water, flying sections opening up brand new pathes, customizable karts that drive differently, coins adding to your stock speed, coins unlocking new kart parts, an updateable online system that will block out cheaters/hackers unlike DS/Wii, the best looking online Nintendo title ever, cool and useful looking streetpass support, the blue shell is nerfed a bit since its on the ground now, and some new items.

Its shaping up nice, I won't know for sure until I get to play extensively myself hence why I err, can't really predict what numerical value I may give it in the future, even if it looks very promising IMO.

I really wish most gaming critics would drop this numerical score non-sense. It does nothing but hurt games, often uninformed consumers look for a number without reading anything, and the number really can never tell whether its something a person should look into any better than an actual 1,000 words of actual experience from someone.

But then I suppose a lot of companies (NBC Univeral with G4, and CBS with GameSpot) would be against that since often these numerical scores can driven internet traffic. I guess its paying someone's paycheck, I suppose.

Wow, I just noticed the AAA hype is ahead by only 5 votes of AA hype. Watch as people go nuts on the internet when it gets an 8.0 and fails to meet some odd criteria by a few votes.

Well, the blue shell no longer flies in this game, it stays on the ground and I believe, but haven't seen it yet, that the Tanooki tail item might deflect blue shells.

AAA, IMO the best Mario Kart games always were on the handheld. I loved the console games, and they are great party games, but Super Circuit was the start, DS was the best compared to Wii and 7 looks like it will finally take the series to new lengths compared to before. It just seems to me this series is more fit on a handheld. I mean, I love a good Mario Kart party here and there, but racing a couple of laps here and there, besting my time trials, and so forth are what make up the game for me, and those are best when done in short spurts on a handheld. The streetpass and online features are really going to give this game longevity and life. yoshi_64

Not interested. Nintendo has really been striking out with their games recently. Mario 3d land was pretty dull compared to other mario games. This game looks like a rehash. And Zelda has flopped hard. Hopefully Mario tennis is good and makes meaningful additions to a formula that Nintendo hasnt bled dry yet like most of their other franchises.Androvinus

Gamespot could give this game a 2 and I would still get it.
