The number 1 RPG game you played?

Just curious, what is the number 1 or the top RPG game you played since the time u started playing games till now??.. lets keep it to only 1 game.. only 1 epic RPG till now

ok to start first personally so far no game was better than Final Fantasy X.. i think this game was the best RPG i have ever played in my life even tho i played tons of RPG's and of course i like them all tho the only one that will always stay on top for me would be Final Fantasy X!

Xenogears on Playstation 1 that game changed my life. It was one of the only mature storylines in RPG history

Somewhere between Fallout 3 and TES4 Oblivion, i'd like to be able put Demon's on that list as well, but the lack of tutorial and poorly explained story is what keeps it

No one loves Final Fantasy 6. but I love Final Fantasy 6 because it's Final Fantasy 6.funsohng

I sure played FF6 but to be honest i kinda stopped playing the game in the middle.. maybe because i got to play it really late but i sure hope SE do a re-make of the game

I think the one RPG I've played that I was scary addicted to was Dungeon Seige. I played that game non-stop from start to finish because it was so awesome. Then I got the expansion and did the same. However, after about 17 hours of play through the expansion my old Dell crashed, and it was all gone. I didn't save my game once :P I had continuously played for 17 hours :D That really bummed me out, and I didn't ever finish the game :(

THat was like 7-8 years ago though? I tried playing again earlier this year, and omg it was the most confusing game I've ever played in my life :P WHat I could understand when I was 11-12 years old I can no longer comprehend at the age of 19 :P

BTW it was this incident with my Dell that made me switch to custom gaming PCs.

I am going to go with Suikoden; is it really the best? No, but it was the first RPG that really hooked me.

This is always a toss up for me but I'll go with Final Fantasy IV. I've played that game at least once a year for the past 10 years or so.mythrol

Oh yeah. Draogn Age: Origins. I forgot it was so close to release.

I rarely play RPG's... just not an RPG fan.

But the one RPG series I HAVE to play is Pokemon. Whether it is Blue/Gold/Sapphire/Diamond I'm going to be playing it :P

Also at the moment I am playing Mario and Luigi Partners in Time. Very fun :D

It's a tie between Xenogears (PSX) and PlaneScape Torment (PC)

Cant pick only one. Suikoden 2, FFIX and Persona 4 are all fantastic.

This is my fifth favorite JRPG. It's been way too long since I've played it though. I need to play again.

I'm not a big RPG junkie but I'll go with Fallout 3 until I get to buy the Role Playing Shooter Borderlands!

If I had to choose one it would have to be Final Fantasy 7. I don't really care what anyone says. I love this game.

Dragon age will probably take that spot though.

My top 5

1. FFX (this will change when theFF13 games come out probably)

2. FF12 they actually did do things better on a technical aspect than FFX,but the characters and the world in FF12 (an ancient FF universe) werent better though. Plus I dont like it when you go back to a previous place, (it takes some of the "fantasy" out of it.)

3. Demon Souls

4. FF7 (even though I never played this game, I heard that it pioneered many aspects of RPG gaming)

5. Fallout 3 (I guess)

Knights of the Old Republic and Mass Effect

Tales of Symphonia. It was difficult to choose between Tales of Symphonia and Dark Cloud 2. But the combat was more fun in ToS and it had multiplayer.

baldur's gate 2

Enjoyed it more than the other final fantasies. I don't know why. Maybe because it was the first 3D FF to bring back the series to a non-future era.

Yeah thats funny becuase ff IV is also my #1 Final Fantasy game. I just Love the characters the best the Love triangle between Kain (Dragoon) Cicel the (Pallidin) and Rosa (white mage) was just really awesome. The Twins with the Twin magic was really great, Edge was a bomb Ninja, and of course it was the start of the Bard Class with Edward the coward. And the Summoner in that game Rydia is So great it is wild.

That game did it right becuase unlike many of the other FF games every character was different and they cannot be equipped to be similar to other characters. Your summoner is the only one that can use those spells and she has 1/4 of the hit points and the tank characters! alot of character do not have mp at all and it makes the game feel really more like it might actually be.

I hate how in later final fantsy games (6+) everyone can learn almost everything by equipping materia in 7 or moving on a similar path on a node grid like in 10. That is silly.

I have played Final fantasy 11 online and I realize that alot of that game comes from what Started in Final Fantasy 4. If you have not played it you owe it to yourself to play it it really is the first "Great" final fantasy game.
