The Official April NPD Thread - Come laugh at the PS3

Difficult to know one way or the other. Were people holding of on buying a 360 for the whole of April and just waiting for an elite? Or was the elite just a complete non invent? I suspect next months figures will be more revealing in that regard.

It just doesn't have any good games out yet, once it does the sales will improve.Lavagasm

Here is a list of the trends, they're based on the NPD sales data. Remember that March is 5 weeks while April is only 4 weeks of data.

Wow things arent looking good for Sony.

Things however are looking great for Nintendo. 

 Personally I'm laughing at that one fanboy who predicted the 360 would surpass the Wii in monthly sales soon (greg splicer I think?). ROFL. Yes, it's so close to doing that, it's selling almost half as much!!! :lol:TNT_Slug

The Wii had the third best selling game last month..... 

Did anyone else notice that ZERO PS3 games made the top 10?  Not only is nobody buying the PS3, but nobody is buying its games, either.  :lol:  THAT will be the nail in Sony's coffin.

Sony said that they could sell 5 million PS3s without any games.  Well, they've done that!

I did say last month that the 360 would come close to selling as much as the Wii, due to the Elite being released.  I was wrong.  Ouch.  I know the Nintendy did bump up the production of the Wii and that the Elite didn't sell as well as we had thought.  Those 2 things combined to give us what the NPD numbers show us.

But it's doing better than the PS3... 

The DS sells like mad in Japan because those people have such small homes that fitting a HD and a bulk of consoles is awkward, so they buy a handheld which can be played much more cheaply and it can be played on their way to work, it's social convenience.85070537783
