My friend let me borrow the PS2 ver. yesterday. Im getting my Wii in 2 months so do you think i should just hold out till i can get SM Wii? Do the controls feel very natural?

The graphics look AWESOME!!! But one question, why is there smoke behind her when she's running through a hallway? It just annoys me...

How couldn't it be at least a 9.0 as it was of the few established series on the Wii next to Zelda and Mario. Anything less would be a dissapointment for a system that is far and between blockbuster hits normally(SMG2 just came out but before that their was a huge drought).

7 Things I learned From Other M It's funny -- Most people that have played Other M say it's what they expect out of a Metroid game. The people who haven't played the game are the one's that are saying things like 'but teh isolation and solidarity is teh GONES!!!!' I won't say anything until I play it, but I have full faith in the team developing the game. Comic-Con Footage From GameSpot -- My God, the guy from GameSpot didn't even know it was made with Team Ninja. I don't expect them to know everything, but jeez.Haziqonfire

Because the critics aren't exactly the end all be all of our thoughts on a game, and have proven on multiple occaisons that sometimes they just don't get it.

I didn't say they're the end all be all -- They're essentially gamers, too. They definitely will never have the same thoughts as gamers, no one will. All I was saying is that people who played the game have been saying its what they expect out of a Metroid title.

EDIT: Also, don't you find it funny that you mention that critical response isn't the end all be all of our thought's, yet this forum is basically all about games getting X score :?

Yea idk how someone can call it a halo clone. Now thats just going a bit to far. Yea it has a bit more action and characters who actually talk,but that doesint make it a halo clone. It still felt like a MP game to me. Just a bit more actiony.

To add onto that -- I actually feel like all of the games feel 'shootery' -- If you go back and play Prime 1 and Echoes with the Wiimote set up (like in the Trilogy) you notice it more ... because of the controls.

They're easier to use and much tighter, everything goes faster because you're able to do so in a more efficient manner. I've been playing all three prime games recently -- and a whole lot of Metroid -- before Other M .. so I've been noticing these small things as I've been playing, others might not but it's what I see.

Other M's pretty much what I wanted the original Metroid Prime to be, a 3rd person action game. After seeing the first trailer I was a bit disappointed that Prime turned out to be in first person. Did play/complete it though and it's the best one in the Prime trilogy IMO.

I know, but I feel the hate gets ridiculous some times. Sure, you have some expectations, and the game did not live up to those- but it was still a good game, stop making it out as if it was not. I mean, if this forum was the first time I'd heard about Corruption, I wouldn't approach it with a ten foot pole. Ditto GTA 4, MW2, Halo/2/3, Twiligt Princess... and all of those are really good games. You did not find them up to mark, okay, go on, sound off, but stop insinuating that the games are not good, because they're still better than most of the stuff that gets released.
Except for maybe MW2, that one just sucks. :P

Personally, I love God of War for the exact same reason you think it's inferior to others in the genre- it's combat is simple enough for me to master it, but just complex enough to be adequately deep. And I will not argue with Kratos. He showed a lot of promise in God of War 1 (exceptionally well developed, and a nice, fleshed out back story), but he degenerated into the standard, I'm angry, macho and mean, and kill everything I see; I also have a gravelly voice fare.

I don't see the problem with Halo's campaigns, I always liked them. However, I can see Halo 2 as pissing many off.

And No More Heroes... sigh, chuck it, I'm too tired to argue anymore. :P

-Speed upgrades increase the rate of the charge beam.
-The game is mostly gameplay NOT cinematics. As in, an hour or more stretches without a single cutscene.
-That said, there will be small real-time cutscenes (similar to Prime), but these seem to be thinly placed.
-You cannot skip cutscenes.(Not sure about successive play-throughs though)
-You can dodge while in first person.
-Deactivating holographic generators reveals new areas to explore.
-The music seems to be mostly atmospheric, but should include lots of remixes.
-The auto-aim function can hit enemies from very far away, but missiles have a limited range.
-Samus turns slowly in first person.
- One interesting move is a morph ball bomb release after charging the arm cannon. A ring of bombs is laid out
-There will be sequences that can result in instant-death (such as one involving an elevator).

Although i like that theyve gone with this direction, seeing that last screen reminds me of how talented Retro are. A talent that looks to have gone through for DKCR too.

Hm, even though I'm already excited for the game, that write-up didn't heighten my excitement at all.

I think I'm just going to have to play this game before I have an idea how I'm going to feel about it, as none of the hands-on previews I've read have really given me a good grasp on what the game is actually like.

TBH, I am kind of disappointed that Retro is doing this project. I almost seems like waisted talent. The whole point of the game is nostalgia but changes for the modern day. Nintendo even kinda of said that themselves. Retro has nailed that perfectly (from what I can tell that is). DKCR looks amazing for what it does. However, a project based around Nostalgia should be done by someone else. I want something from Retro that is more ambitious like the Prime games. If they made a new Donkey Kong game, I would love something that is a 3D platformer that tries different things, succeeds in what it does, and become something like the Prime games for Donkey Kong.
