Ryse, easily, especially on PC. The Order would have incredible graphics if it didn't have post processing Vaseline smeared all over it.

Nailed it. The Blur 1886 has great art direction no doubt, but otherwise looks very poor compared to games that go for a more "realistic" approach like Ryse.

Lol! You telling me that i'm a fanboy. What are you then?

Sorry, blur effect where has its purpose for me is not the blurry game. Blurry image caused by low resolution and bad AA, that's a blurry game like the most games on Xbone caused by low res and bad AA.

So, an image that is blurry for a purpose other than low resolution, is not defined as blurry in your eyes? That is the most idiotic reasoning I have ever read. Blurry is blurry, whether it looks good doing it, or like complete shite... The Order tends to straddle that line.

So, according to your logic, every game that has blur ( even in small amount ) is a blurry game. Fine! Damn, blur in Witcher 3 appears when you spinning camera. Game is so blurry!

When I played The Order I had the natural inclination to squint constantly because the amount of blur and immersion in the game was confusing my brain into thinking there was something wrong with my vision. I use a VGA to 720p HDMI upscaler for my Dreamcast, games rendering at 480p being upscaled to 720 do not even look like this, they're clear and defined for what they are and for their low resolution, this shit is just ridiculous.

Let's not get stupid here. lundy and others in the thread are clearly arguing that The Order has an excessive amount of blur. The Witcher comparison is asinine and you should feel bad about it.

Why you're expending so much energy defending this mediocre and clearly blurry game is beyond me.

Yes. It's the definition of the fucking word. Still, The Order is excessively blurry. Now, again, i'm not calling The Order a bad looking game, but the overall blur detracts from the actual quality. There should be no debate, but clearly you're having trouble.

That is the fucking stupidest comparison i've read/heard/had the privilege of laughing at. You're comparing motion blur to a general low-quality post-processing blur, in order to make assets appear to be higher quality. What... The... ****?

This logical comparison schtick clearly isn't your forte.

LOL! Guys, despite your arguments that The Order is blurry, game has one of the best image quality around. Your problem if you don't see it.

Both games look good graphically. Both games are a kinda graphic showcase for their respective systems. Both games are somewhat brief and missing in depth gameplay. But they were meant to show what each system could do graphically, So both are kinda, a over hyped tech demo. But these games are good at showcasing their consoles graphic potential. While it may not have been a good idea to buy Ryse or The Order 1866 for $69.99 at launch. Getting these games for $19.99 and enjoying them, however brief they end up. Is fine. That's what I did and I liked both games even if they were shallow. But graphically pleasant. Tech demo's

There is no argument, it's blurry, that's your problem, you think we're arguing with you.

Also you don't seem to understand that this blur detracts from image quality...

Translation: I can't actually back up my disastrous argument, so I'll just double down on my opinion (which nobody really cares about).

At least you decided not to continue with that weird Witcher 3 comparison.

@imt558: Who said that the game doesn't look good? I think everyone appreciates that the game is a looker... That doesn't excuse the awkward blurriness of the game. I think it would have looked much better without the blur, even with the assets they were trying to hide.

You seem to have trouble conveying your own arguments, and understanding others, which just makes for a whole mess of a conversation.

They made it that blurry because the world textures are shit and the game doesn't look good at all during actual gameplay (HUD) when they aren't showing only faces.

This is why Cows exclusively only show cutscene or photomode grabs. Anyone calling it gfx king are pretty much confirming they are just blind sony fanboys.

Now I had a PS4 for xmas and got The Order with it..... DAMN impressed with it, looks AMAZING most of the time..... Has it's flaws but still looks amazing.

I've also played Ryse on my PC at 1440p maxed out and The Order EASILY holds up to it.

It also has the best image quality of any console game I've seen.

All I've seen are shitty images of The Order 1886. Aren't there any good user images? I would think its fans would have posted them by now.

The Order's graphics is unrivaled not till UC4 comes.

Ryse

Ryse looks gameish next to the CGI esque The Order.

Ryse over all looks better. Ryse has better image quality and doesn't cut 25% of the screen out in order to achieve it's visuals. Both games look great but putting black bars on the top and bottom of the screen is a bigger cheat than using low res textures. What's next for devs?? Cutting out 50% of the screen with black bars in order to spice up visuals even more??? It's an unacceptable practice for devs to put black bars on the screen, especially when people are spending major money on big screen TV's.

This again... both are realistic and blah blah but Ryse has a much more interesting colour palette to look at. I'd rather a colourful game that attracts me visually than a grey and brown muddle any day.

ryse looks almost the damned same on pc as xbone. ryse is still an amazing looking game, just not as good as the order.

@m3dude1: the Pc version looks better than the Xbone by a wide margin. Also, Ryse features much more complexity than the Order does in most of it's very short campaign.

Neither of these games were good, and about the only thing worth mentioning in terms of differences is that Ryse offered a longer campaign. However, I'm not sure this is really any sort of a plus. At least you only had to suffer though the order's mediocrity for 4 hours.

@imt558: Not so much as being hypocritical but more like you having problems interpreting my sentence. How does "more - awkwardly - loyal to the brand" means that "Xboners are such an angels"? Fanboys are idiots, it just happens that at the present moment there is so much people with PS4s that is only natural that there are more Sony idiots than MS idiots around the web.

Well, if you are arguing about art direction I wont argue with you. As IMO both games have a good art direction, it's just a matter of taste. But technically... if you played Ryse on PC on "way more higher settings than Xbone version" and you still consider the Order's graphics technically superior to the PC version of Ryse, you are either blind or a fanboy, or even worst: a blind fanboy.

You don't know who are Tim Dog, MrX, marcberry and others? Xboners are waaay more louder on the net. It's natural, cuz they can't stand that their lovely Xbone is losing on every front.

I'd honstley like to know how the Order would/could look on a high-end PC...

That said I'd take Ryse on max settings on PC.

No, we can't. I loved Ryse's simplistic gameplay. It was just satisfying and the arena mode in co-op is pure visceral fun imo.

At least you only had to suffer though the order's mediocrity for 4 hours.

no it really doesnt

Uhm, full native resolution (I played at 1440p), better AA, way better AF, a much improved LOD, and higher resolution shadow maps.... all from your own cite, fer christ sake.

Not to forget more than 30 FPS... ;)

@LordCrash88: Yep, which did wonders for the gameplay... unfortunately that game needed more than wonders to improve it's gameplay... it needed Jesus, Thor, and Osiris to resuscitate it.

The Order has superior models, particles, lighting, PBR, post processing and shaders.

What's with all these shitposters like Robocop and PrayToMe posting low res pictures of The Order/Ryse? No one will actually believe that these games look that bad, so stop wasting your time in Photoshop.
