To everyone who says that sony going blu-ray was a bad idea, fail to realize these 2 major things:

1. Blu-ray was actually losing to HD-DVD up until the ps3 came out. After the ps3 came out, HD-DVD sales got trampled by blu-ray sales almost every month, even when Transformers came out exclusively to HD-DVD, it still got outsold by blu-ray sales. So in essence, the ps3 having a blu-ray player in it helped the sony format from seeing another pitiful death like Betamax, UMD, and mimi cd's.

2 I can pull up plenty of dev stating that sony did the right thing by incorporating the blu-ray format this gen. In fact, many dev praised the 360 for being so powerful and easy to develope on, but also bashed m$ for keeping the dvd-9 format this gen. Sony went the right direction with the blu-ray format, they just executed the idea very poorly.

Uncharted, GOW all look pretty but are nothing revolutionary and aren't going to sell consoles. They've lost Final Fantasy as well as MG at this point. I can play gears on the 360 which is just as good as uncharted. Halo is just as good as killzone and more fun. Yay Ratchet. Mass Effect, Alan Wake, Splinter Cell, Forza. Heavy Rain is overhyped and lacks gameplay elements and is another showpiece of a game that doesnt do anything that interesting. MAG another shooter that just jams mroe people running around not knwoing what they are doing into a game that isn't going to work. There really is nothing on the ps3 that is saying to me this is a game i have to have this console for. So i'm supposed to pay $400 for Uncharted which never was that good game to begin with, and GOW?

This is coming from someone that doesn't even own a 360. I have a PS3 but, play mostly games on my comp.

1. Actually, the fight wasn't with DVD, but HD-DVD. The blu-ray format isn't and wasn't suppose to compete with DVD. HD-DVD was made to compete with blu-ray and lost. DVD is winning a battle that really wasn't suppose to be because of it being on the market for like 7 years+ before blu-ray ever was created, and that new releases are like 10-15 bucks cheaper on dvd than blu-ray

2. Most of the games that you stated besides GTA4, isn't really resources constraining. Halo 3 is a total joke compared to most of the ps3 exclusive titles on a visual and technical side of things, and while CoD: MW looks great, that game isn't really a strenuous game to run either. I wonder why Kojima allowed the MGS series to go multiplat this gen, but let one of the most successful MGS title (MGS4) too stay exclusive to the ps3?;)

Blu-ray isn't needed, but it have blatant advantages, but like i stated before, SONY EXECUTED THE MOVE HORRIBLY!!!!!!

This isnt exclusive to PS3. I bought my 360 nearly a year before PS3 came out and I feel 360 was the over-hyped box. I think they both are great systems. The PS3 has a lot of potential based on the features and how good 1rst party titles show. I think the graphical expectation needs to be put in context. Screen grabs do not show the physics or the fidelity in motion.

Do you how much hate the PS3 still got one year after its launch? There were sooooo many fanboys from the Xbox 360's hgue fanbase that kept saying, "the PS3 has no games, it's too expensive, etc." when clearly, the big developers were still at work on what would be AAA games.
