nevertheless, it still got 10 in graphics didnt it ? personally by looking at the pics and videos i dont think that it should get more than 9 in graphics , but from what ive heard , you should play it to apreciate it

i am speaking in terms of what Cows use to judge graphics in a traditional sense here in SW. they're the first to bring up Jaggies, HD resolutions, pixel counts, etc. and MGS4 pixel counted is 1024x768, a sub-HD resolution. it looks beautiful in movement in parts, but in terms of what Cows use to attack sheep and lemmings (which is what we must use) this is absolutely hilarious.

personally i think gameplay trumps graphics, and that's why MGS4 is where it is in terms of ratings. I just find it mind-blowingly ironic and hilarious that some cows try to say it's a beauty pageant winner when it isn't by any stretch of the imagination when compared to other titles this gen, PC or console.

MGS4 has the best character models by far, but some of the environments could have looked better

gears character models are FAR more detailed, there is a comparison thread somewhere. it's not even close, gears models look like they have twice as many polygons.

Its weird that we are wondering who is console graphics king and the 360 side talks Gears only while on the ps3 side we talk GTP, Drakes Fortune and MGS4. 1 game by a over rated game engine (unreal engine) and 3 games all running on their own game engine, not to mention KZ2 will have their own engine. So on the ps3 side yall just wait til they start sharing or leasing out those engines for ps3 developers.

To this day the only game on the 360 that you can cheer about is Gears with the unreal engine. Now tell me what direction that is for the future of the 360. So right now and in the future the ps3 is going to rule with an inferior graphics card lol. On the pc side I could run 2 generations back with a nvidia card and look the same as an up to date ati card, hence ati has always been behind nvidia.

PC is the graphics king.

PS3 is the runner-up with 360 not far behind.

Wii is in a distant last place though...

They don't talk about it becuase it isn't the best, and that is what this thread it about. Opening sequence of Halo, a marine appears to be wearing a triangle, when it turns out to be his hat. Halo has good textures, but not so good polygon counts.

As for MGS4 not having as many polygons as Gears models, I wouldn't belive that until I saw an actual polygon count from each developer.

I would have to say that the PS3 in a short time will have better graphics and stuff. It really is the technology enhanced console, but no console game will ever come close to Gears of War. I mean it looked the best for its time and no game will ever look better for its time! I believe it was the first next-gen graphics game to come out.

When did that happen? It wasn't called HD over a decade ago.

Seriously though the whole "HD" resolution thing is a joke among PC gamers. 1280x1024 has been used in PC gaming for so many years it is considered a mainstream res, imagine what it was like one day to have console users walk up and say PC no longer had a resolution advantage because they have "720p high definition".

We laughed, then we realized they were being serious...

This thread is as pointless as it gets.

Uncharted, MGS4, Mass Effect and Gears - all look mighty spectacular without a doubt.

Untill someone proffesional comes and tells us something the n00b eye cant distinguish, this is really irrelevent.
