There's a definition of insanity; Doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result each time.AdobeArtistThing is, what does the definition become when you do the same thing over and over, and the result does actually differ?

Blind luck. Like all the nuts who are constantly claiming the world is going to end. Eventually, one of them will be right.
Phenomenal , incredible , huge , amazing , unretainable and monstrous powerz will be unleashed !

Yeah, the end of the world doesn't require a prophesy to happen. It's a basic precept of the universe that all things eventually decay and come to their demise. It's a known fact that stars eventually collapse. That would be like saying "the sun will rise" or "The weather will change and we will see a thunder storm someday" is somehow prophetic.
But getting back to my own statement, well really my quote of someone else's statement, you (HuusAsking) clearly didn't get the meaning of the adage. If repeated attempts always lead to failure, one must change their approach to attain the desired results. That's just some basic logic right there. And so far sonyfans here have learned nothing - they repeatedly predict the demise of the 360 (within this generation, not talking after this one ends), some kind of super surge in sales for the PS3 that is not supported by any reasonable market observation, just their wishful thinking. It doesn't happen and... lo and behold, a few months later we see the cycle repeat.
What was supposed to happen in 06, was then supposed to happen in 07, then in 08 and now the "prophesy" will supposedly happen in 2009.... and then 2010.... then 2011...
But how the saying applies here is a bit different. The sonyfans want to see PS3 overtake 360. What they keep repeating is that all the Topics, rants, chants, and overall approach of making loose predictions expecting to somehow prove themselves right. What should be learned here is that all that doesn't work, it won't have any effect on reality, so what they should have learned is to just stop saying how things are going to happen before they happen.

Well there is always Hannukah or asking Santa Claus to make their wishes come true.
If the PS3 hasn't peaked, neither has the Xbox 360. It's that simple.
Cows said Gears 1 was it's peak ... Gears 2 looks miles better/
Uncharted is all you have now, and don't say MGS4, it looks horrible compared to the aforementioned games.
Call me when the PS3 goes SSJ2, looks like:
and produces unbelievable powah!
With the reputation of previous GoW games, I have to admit that I'm expecting GoW3 to look f-tabulously GREAT. People say KZ2 looks amazing, GoW3 MUST look 10x better! :)
[QUOTE="ronvalencia"][QUOTE="HuusAsking"]Then let's see the 360 do the OctoCamo. As I recall, Kojima had needed the resources of an entire SPE just for that, on top of what he had cooking everywhere else. HuusAskingGeforce 7 based RSX would need the support from SPEs for vertex, geometry and some pixel shading. Thing is, could the Xenon and Xenos replicate this feat without choking elsewhere? IIRC, the Xenos, while superior to the RSX, is far from the number-crunching beast of the GF8's. Otherwise, why wasn't a F@H client developed for it? The Xenon is Power-based like the Cell, so they could use the PS3 code. Meanwhile, they have all their work with the ATI GPU clients to help build for the Xenos. And the 360 has better market penetration than the PS3, so they'll get more clients on board. So why don't they?
Xenos's secondary GPU handles some of pixel shading work e.g. HDR, thus reducing the workload on the unified shaders. ATI Radeon X1xx0 Fold@Home GPU1 client has been decommissioned.
Fold@Home GPU2 scores for ATI Radeon HD 3670' is around 1100 PPD. Xenos doesn't have AMD/ATI CAL thus no Fold@Home GPU2 client. Let's see if OpenCL/ DX compute shaders gets ported Xbox360.
There's a difference between power and selling well . The Wii and DS are selling like hotcakes . The PS3 isn't . reason ? The price . Period . PS3 has incredible games, just as 360 has beautiful games . Yes, there's much coming to the PS3 next year (or the year after...) but saying that the 360 has reached its limit with Gears 2 is a little too harsh . Tekken 6 and Resi5 prove that the 360 has much up its sleeve, graphically wise .

I agree. People in this thread tend to forget that there are also lots of big games coming to the 360 in 2009.
The biggest reason why the X360 will have problems in the end is it's DVD capacity. Look at Far Cry 2, or listen to it. The sound sucks worse than PSone games and just listen to it when they are talking, they have speeded it all up to make the samples shorter...LOL. And don't ask me where they found the sound effects.
The funny thing is, this is'nt the first multiplatform game that has these problems. Not only those the exclusives on the PS3 have better or equal graphics, they also have waaay better sound. Not even PC games have as good sound. It takes up a lot of bandwidth, where consoles have the edge. But the PS3 also has the edge since it has Blu Ray. I think we will keep on seeing improvements in how developers gets more power out of the PS3 for years, while the X360 developers has to improve the existing game engines, like they have done with the Unreal Engine 3 over several years now.
Its quite obvious that both systems are very good choices in terms of games.
But at the end of the day, it comes down to the developer of the games, not the system. We all know that good games can be on all platforms and likewise with
the not so great games. Both sony and Microsoft have amazing studios backing them, so, its all up to them!
Congradulations to Gears 2 for winning Best Shooter at the VGA's!

Like...? And do we have confirmations on these games?Yay but the thing is, if not 2009, we can count on a thread next year at this time saying: 2010 will be the year. :PSecretPoliceNot really, because 2010 will be the year the next console generation looms near. Any one of the three could release in 2010 to get a jump on the competition. So to anyone who says, "Just wait." Reply with, "Now or never."
[QUOTE="cuddlesofwar"][QUOTE="Gameslave_"] i think the 360 totally peaked with gears 2 when killzone 2, uncharted 2, heavy rain, god of war 3, and gran turismo 5 comes out, nothing on 360 can compare. jakaraiYou THINK. Nice proof. It's one engine ... one multi-platform engine. Killzone uncharted, GT5 and GOW all have PS3 exclusive engines built from the ground up for the PS3, hence, they'll yield better results. It's not rocket science ... If MS had some half decent first party support, or made games themselves, you'd see some REAL graphical powerhouses emerge from MS' corner. Especially with all the backing MS can give. You mean like Halo 3? The Halo 3 engine is an updated Halo 2 engine, built for the Original Xbox. The Killzone 2 engine is an engine builst specifically for the PS3. Ground up, from scratch. Halo 3 re used many things from previous Halo games.
When hell freezes over the Ps3 will be king. Thats why Xbox 360 is king becuase thats just fact.gcfreak898
Someone forgot the Wii.
