Due to the fact that I am not so interested in Half-Life 2: Episode 3, mostly because I have not played any game that is connected to the Half-Life series and I am afraid that the plot will make no sense. :?

I played HL2 before HL1 and it was OK.

People can have preferences.

I don't understand why people try to put down the 60 players in Resistance 2, I know it's being hyped a lot but so is the co-op campaign and it's obviously because there's something good insomniac is working off.

Put it this way, my best online experience is BF2 on PC with 64 players, Strike on Karkand. Madness. But so fun, lagless of course... This is PC gaming we're talking about. But it was only fun, because all the features worked together.

So it's down to preference.

Then again, if Gears 2 has bullet lag still and massive host advantage then I'll be very annoyed.

RESISTANCE 2 FTW. Gears is for more slow paced action , while R2 is for more heart beating faster shooters

haze was medicore, resistance was great not medicore, but gears has better graphics, short story and little mutiplayer, where resistance had long story and big mutiplayer, but tbh y compare a 1st and 3rd person? all these fanboy comments make me laugh

Gears of War was something different while Resistance felt like another Halo-esque shooter back in 2006. This probably accounted for the critical victory of Gears.

Even still, Gears was overrated. It had a short campaign and lack of multiplayer options. The improvements in Gears 2 look decent but honestly I can't see it making the game significantly better.

Resistance 2 on the other hand definitely has some cool elements (60 player online and the huge scale) but again, it doesn't really look very innovative.

Overall, both games will be touted by ps3 and 360 fanboys while neither game will advance the fps genre in any significant way.

am happy i'll get to play both games.... am equally hyped about both and counting on devs that they deliver a better overall experience in these sequels...

Graphically Geow2 might have the edg, but seeing a gameplay vid (beta version) for Resistance2, I personally think its looking great visually...

Apart from a better SP modes, am sure both games will keep me busy playing online :)
