gears multiplayer is way overrated. an actual reason to stay alive? god what doesnt have that. and yes ppl will stay in those squads to complete their objectives because thats the only way to earn points. and honestly, please tell who online with mics talks with other ppl(not just with their friends) about strategy. nobody.

and i dunno, socom is coming out around the same time too, and there is a bundle with a mic in it, and since that is a really popular game with a huge fanbase, a lot of ppl who get the bundle will be able to use those

Gears 1 barely has a story. What is there is mediocre, and in all honesty it makes absolutely no sense. They go all the way to find this thing then they go back to this guys house and I was like WTF the entire time. Really, who cares about the story in a game liek Gears. It's so short, so they didn't need a story to flesh it out and keep it moving. Look at RE4, it is extremely long, so if it didn't have a story or variety it would get boring. Gears lacked the variety of other shooters, but because it was so short, this wasn't a problem.

Resistance is on a different level, really. It's story is much deeper and the insane weapons and the tactical possibilities of them really gave the game a huge sense of variety. Example: The Auger lets you fire through walls and erect temporary shields. This can effectively nullify any cover tactics your enemies use. The catch, you don't have alot of it. there is a huge variety of enemies, all requiring different tactics to defeat, and I'd be lying to you if I said this wasn't the most punishing AI I have seen in a video game since FEAR.

I would never waste so much as a dollar on gears of war2... The games are so over the top. They're just plain stupid.kingyotoX

Probably because you've never played GeoW for more than a minute... and you don't even have a 360. You have no room to say anything. But I think GeoW2 will get a 9.5, and R2 will get a 9. GeoW was just alot bigger than resistance, I think it's going to be the same this time around too. I think Zelda TP wasn't any good on the Wii either, does that make me a fanboy... no because I have a Wii, see how that goes.

No. I think you're forgetting games such as Stalker: Clear Sky, Far Cry 2, Left 4 Dead and Project Origin. These are all better quality shooters that will more than likely trump Gow2 and while in the ones listed Stalker: Clear Sky is the only exclusive to PC, everyone knows that the PC counterparts of Multiplatforms are always of much higher quality.
