In response to a query from gamesindustry.biz, a Microsoft spokesperson noted that "regularly updating console components is commonplace within the industry and is a standard aspect of the business for a variety of reasons including cost reduction, improved manufacturability and improved performance." So yeah, they dodged the question. Furthermore, the representative refused to directly confirm or deny the new heatsinks, saying that Microsoft does not provide information regarding hardware updates. Uh huh, and we're sure that Microsoft won't be trumpeting the new 65nm GPUs either. Sure ....

Our translation: there are new heatsinks in refurbished Xbox 360s, but admitting that would be tantamount to admitting that the 360 has a systemic flaw, something Microsoft is not keen to do.

I only know one person that has had a problem with there 360 and i know a lot of people that have them considering i work at gamestop and i have plenty of friends that i play online with.Ive never had a problem with mine either and i bought it at launch.Im not saying that people out there arent having problems here and there,its just i believe a lot of this stuff u read on messege boards about red lights comes from fans of other consoles but to say there all fake would be a lie.I dont care what type of electronic device it is someone will get a lemon here and there.I just find it strange that i only know one person thats had a problem with there 360 out of maybe 30 people that i know that has them,not to mension regular customers that come in the store and chat about games.Maybe my home town got all the good ones.loudharley

Just like one "user" tried to convince me that i needed to be worried about my launch 360 because it was doomed to fail. Of the 3 people that I personally know that have a 360, only one has failed. That one failed because the guy preferred to sit his cold beers on the damn 360 itself. We came to the conclusion that some water or condensation got into the electronics and fried something..... :shock:

Mate, you can't say that! Many people have had serious problems with their 360's, lets face it! The console is problematic! Even Microsoft has extended people's warranties! I had the experience where I got error and then the three red lights! Before this it was scratching the hell out of Gears of War! I rang Microsoft and they said "Sorry sir, you must have been jumping around your console causing vibration, because vibrations will **** it up" I said no, the console has been sitting vertically and I have not been jumping around etc, and they kept saying "sorry sir we will not replace your game and its your fault" Its such a problem console its **** I had 2 new 360's both ****ed up within the first 1-2 weeks!

SO ITS NOT FAKED SOME PEOPLE ARE EXTREMELY LUCKY AND GET CONSOLES THAT WORK PROBLEM FREE, WHILST OTHERS SUFFER THE THREE RINGS!!!!!! SO ITS NOT 90% OF PEOPLE FAKING, ALMOST ALL OF THEM WOULD BE TELLING THE TRUTH!! TAKE UR FAN BOY GLASSES OFF AND SEE THE CONSOLE FOR WHAT IT IS! Hopefully Microsoft has screwed themselves here. There is no other reason to add a bloody heatsink than to more effectively get rid of heat. And why would that be necessary, eh? I'm getting increasingly pissed off by Microsoft's dishonesty.

I will say though that I like how everything seems to be accumulating. Hopefully it'll all blow up in Microsoft's stupid, lying face soon.
