Right off the bat, let's start with the fact that I am a PS3 owner, sooo...take my comment or leave it - up to you.
I have 2 friends who have 360's. My co-worker bought his in November and had to send his back earlier this year. Rings of Death or whatever you want to call it - it just didn't stopped working.
My best guy friend had a launch and sent his back twice. Same Rings of death dealie. Now, it's scratching his discs. From his mouth - He's playing Oblivion and all of a sudden, he can't load the next area. He shuts down and checks the disc - a very noticeable scratch. It wasn't there before but it's there now. He didn't move it, he didn't jump up and down, it just got scratched. (He did say if he gets the rings again, he's going to buy a PS3 but that's beside the point)
I know that this may seem like a re-hash of what everyone's talking about and there's a reason for that - because it's true. I have no reason to make this up. As a gamer, I felt really bad for my co-worker because he'd been trying to beat this one part of Gears of War and he was utterly frustrated. Even though I own the competitions system, I do play the 360 when at my friend's place without a problem. DOA, anyone???
Even though 100% of the people I know who have 360's have had to have them repaired, am I going to say that 100% or even 50% of the overall 360-owners have had to send theirs back? No. I'm just going by what I see.
The truth of the matter is that if everyone who has had problems contacts the BBB, it will get resolved. Trust me, MS does not want a bad rating on the BBB.
