Wii has the following games that you won't get anywhere else:

Zack n Wiki, MP3, Nights, SMG, SPM, WarioWare, MP8, Mario Striker. These are Wii exclusives that are worth purchasing.

PS3: Uncharted, R&C, Heavenly Sword, Lair

360: Halo 3, Forza 2, and Mass Effect, Dead Rising, Perfect Dark Zero, Kameo,Crackdown,Blue Dragon, PGR 3 n 4, DOA4

Rest of the stuff are multiplats. Don't like the Wii don't buy it. That's all.

Fixed 360 > wii, dont try to make it look bad please.

I know man. Wii will be a bigger failure than Gamecube.

Sheep:"Oh look at me wave my hand around like an idiot and knock out everything in the room just to move the character.

dragon_master11

you have to be kidding me...how much of a retard do you have to be to beleive that you actually break stuff with the wii. You realise the chance of throwing a wireless controller by accident is higher then a wii mote with you hand through the strap. Most accidents are caused in really small spaces like appartments which isnt the wii's fault. Also moving a character like that is more fun and unique then lets say what moving your thumb in a circle over knob. YOU SIR FAIL.

Wii is my worst console as well, hope Fire Emblem makes up for how crap it has been for me so far, at last a proper RPG that does not use the idiotic controls

saolin323

See, that's the problem. It sucks that sometimes we want games that don't go with the wiimote control scheme, because if you take away the wiimote, what's the Wii? An gamecube on steroids with built-in wifi and the virtual console? It would've been nice if they at least put in HD output...

My brother is playing the new Fire Emblem, and he says that it's like the gamecube one, except brutally difficult.

Well few consoles really start picking up until about a year or two after its release. Compare the early PS2 launch titles like The Bouncer and Oni to some of the later ones like Metal Gear Solid 2.

I can definately see boundless potential in the Wiimote and as far as this generation goes, the Wii is by far the most versatile console on the market. True backwards compatability with the entire Gamecube catalogue, as well as downloadable retro games, and the ability to use the Gamecube or Classic controller if you're not up to handling the Wiimote.

The major downside is the actual Wii library but that is due to the fact that games cannot simply be ported over like PS3/360 games can. Downgrading the graphics and fine tuning the controls so they don't suck a donkeys left scrotal takes a lot of finess but is often reduced to random stick shaking.

AirGuitarist87
ps2? The first year it had gt3, mgs2, klnoa 2, ico, gta 3, dmc, jak, Final Fantasy 10, ssx, silent hill 2, frequency, soul rever 2, sky odyssey, and twisted metal black. It had argurably the greatest year ever.

[QUOTE="CyanX73"]I said it before and I'll say it again, if you bought a Wii expecting great 3rd party support and stellar games not made by Nintendo then you weren't paying attention to Nintendo's history. X_Evo

Guess you weren't either huh? You seem to forget a lot of the popular franchises like Final Fantasy,Castlevania,Megaman,

and what not started on a Nintendo console.

Final Fantasy? Whoaaa there. I'm talking recent history and consoles. Not handhelds.

Yes I know the system outlasted the console in Japan. My cousin owned both and yes it did have some nice games. Things are different for you in Europe but the SMS and TG16 didn't last long or do much here in the states. Near zero impact. I did love Double Dragon for the SMS though. My brother and cousin would always beat me up with the bat to get the glory and save the girl at the end :(

I can understand not liking the N64. hell, I was more of a playstation guy that gen myself and did not even own an N64 but why would you say something as close-minded as that? I mean it had Super Mario 64, Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of time, Perfect Dark, Golden Eye, Super Smash Brothers, Banjo Kazooie, Banjo Tooie, Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask, Mario Kart 64, Conker's Bad Fur Day, Star Fox 64, Paper Mario, Wave Race 64, and Ogre Battle 64. Maybe those games are not your cup of tie but that's your personal opinion and not a definitive measure of quality. For example I don't like JRPG's but I wouldn't go around calling Final Fantasy terrible.

Why do you take offense to someone putting down the Master System and then go out of your way to call the Nintendo 64 terrible, I would say that the Nintendo 64 easily had more ground-breaking and critically acclaimed games then the Sega Master System. Alex Kidd and Phantasy Star might have been fun but they are not on the level of Super Mario 64 and Ocarina of Time.

The N64 had the worst library diversity, worst third party support and worst amount of quality releases. You have to be really closed minded to not have seen that, hell even the Saturn got more than double the amount of games that the N64 got, and lets not forget that alot of the bulk of the N64 library were yearly releases of sports games.

And it's not like those games you mentioned came one after another, the N64 went into long stretches of gaming droughts while the other systems were constantly getting more and more games, and in the end you would only get 1 or 2 Nintendo or Rare games. The N64 was all about FPS and Platformers, if you didn't dig that you were out of luck on the system. What did devs like Konami or Capcom did on the N64? Nothing, it was all about Nintendo and Rare games, lets not kid ourselves.

So I think I can very well say along Ninja-Vox that the N64 was one of the worst systems I've owned.

The N64 didn't had a third party blockade like the one Nintendo put on the Master System, it was lackluster on it's own. The Master System for it's time did ok until the Mega Drive came out even with Nintendo's dirty tricks.

Regardless of which the N64 had more and better games then both the Sega Master System and the TG-16. To even praise the SMS or TG-16 while calling the N64 terrible is just laughable.

The SMS and TG-16 has literally zero impact over in the states. Nintendo owned the 8-bit generation (literally). The TG-16 had no effect here as well due to the Genesis which was really good and the NES which was still kicking. Both were pretty much dead on arrival here.

They were both huge failures while on the other hand the N64 while not being an amazing console lived a full life and had a good amount of good games to play.

Those two systems aren't as good as the succeeding consoles they tried to compete with, and especially to the later consoles. Sure the Master System had the God-Like Phantasy Star series, but outside of that Shinobi, and Wonderboy I didn't see too much to talk about. As for TG-16, I would put it above the Master System but compared to the SNES and Mega-Drive it really couldn't hold it's own too much.

Yet I see you own a Dreamcast and a Sega Saturn?

I hope you mean the Western SEGA Saturn.

Guess that early support Sega had with the Xbox with Panzer Dragoon Saga, JSRF, ect didn't sway you too much to the xbox side then huh.

Eh. I'm probably the minority, but the only reason I'm keeping the wii is because of Supe Smash Brothers Brawl. And I feel like it is going to suck on a wii controller.

Then use the gamecube controller!

The Master System owned, and the TG-16? so many ****cs like Splatterhouse, Military Madness, Devil's Crush, Soldier Blade, Air Zonk, Download, Bomberman '94, Gunhead etc. you know the system outlasted the Famicom in Japan by a great, great margin?Gunraidan

Those two systems were an embrassment compared to the NES, and especially to the later consoles.

Yet I see you own a Dreamcast and a Sega Saturn?

Blackbond

I hope you mean the Western SEGA Saturn.

Well I don't live in the East lol.

[QUOTE="Ninja-Vox"]The N64 was the worst console i ever owned. I'm not at all happy with the Wii, but i wouldnt' go that far...Blackbond

Yeah, the N64 was terrible.

I'm staying far away from the Wii.

And it's not like those games you mentioned came one after another, the N64 went into long stretches of gaming droughts while the other systems and in the end you would only get 1 or 2 Nintendo or Rare games.

Like I just said, Nintendo had a third party blockade at the time, third party companies couldn't make games for the SMS if they wanted, and that also heavily delayed the release of the TG-16 outside of Japan.

In Japan, the TG-16 got more third party support than the famicom.

In the N64 case, devs just don't wanted to make games for it.

The worst console I've ever owned was the Xbox, hands down.

Blackbond

Yet I see you own a Dreamcast and a Sega Saturn?

Yes, SEGA was my favourite developer at the time.

Guess that early support Sega had with the Xbox with Panzer Dragoon Saga, JSRF, ect didn't sway you too much to the xbox side then huh.

That's what brought me in the first place. It didn't really get interesting after that.

It's still a tragedy those games bombed so much. SEGA backed the console like none other, just so that the fanbase would spit in their face. Oh well that's what you get when you do little to no advertising for your games and have them on the wrong platform. And least Xbox fans are being more courtious to Capcom.

Panzer_Zwei

Are you referring when the TG-16 went head to head with the NES or in their established life-times?

Because one's kinda a no brainer and one I have a very hard time believing. Especially in terms of serious third party support.

That's what brought me in the first place. It didn't really get interesting after that.

Cristallis

Agreed. Those were definately the Xbox's high days. After that the whole shooter stereotype started to come thru.

Hell call me crazy but I still think the Xbox in this point of the 360's time is much more appealing to me solely due to SEGA's support (when they were still good).

Well, all those systems lived a full life didn't they? They kept releasing HuCards and Super CD-ROMS even as far as 1995, and the world is not only about the states. It's understandable that it's important for you, but it doesn't mean much for me or for the Japanese really, they aren't our regions. (and you shouldn't be limitated by regions in the first place)

But to save us some grief in here, lets leave the SMS and TG-16 on the terrible level as you put them originally, but lets add the N64 how's that?

Because the question back at you, if the SMS and TG-16 were terrible, how's the N64 not?

So what? I refuse to think that the SMS and TG-16/TD were terrible, what are you going to do about it?

I could also post a bunch of the great games the other consoles had so what? And you seriously care about popularity? do you think it was somehow better because it sold more? What's funny about the N64 is that even though it sold ok, that wasn't even enough for it to get more support. The Saturn in it's demise got 10x times the third party support than the N64. Almost all of those games you listed are by Nintendo/Rare.

Well I don't live in the East lol.

Blackbond

To my eyes the SEGA Saturn was a testament to traditional gaming.

Back when companies were going for 3D, CG, movie-like gameplay, etc. The Saturn stuck to the old way of gaming and expanded on it solely to the hardcore.

The System pushed 2D Gaming to the Limit at the Time

(This was a launch game)

The console pushed 2D Gaming's gameplay and evolved it.

(DragonForce a game so good it's on Gamespot's "Hall of Fame Game's List or Whatever it's Called" and blended RPG with RTS along with other elements)

The system also appealed widly to the arcade gamer, thus the system had a RAM expansion (or something similar) to increase the systems power and resolution so that games that were literally arcade perfect.

Street Fighter vs. Xmen (on bottom) was the game to premier this, people were amazed how there was literally no slowdown. Street Fighter Alpha 3 (on top) to this day remains the most arcade perfect home console port, and yes that is including the PS2 version.....so what does that tell you.

The Saturn was, no is light years ahead of anything on the market. The SEGA Saturn provided the perfect experience of what it was emulating and did it with a sole point. Can you say this with the PS3 and Xbox 360? Can they match the PC? They fail in every aspect imaginiable. Compared to PC's they have gimped online, low resolution, clunkyer controls, and just over-all inferior ports, while dumbing down the PC's games. Not only that but their additions are just worthless, why do I need a bigger hard-drive? Why does it matter if it goes in higher resolution if it still can't match with what I want it to match? The Saturn didn't joke around it matched what it was trying to acheive, can't say that about the other two platforms.

2D Games are another thing. The Saturn evolved 2D games by not just make bigger worlds or better graphics, but changing their gameplay. DragonForce, Princess Crown, Grandia, Guardian Heroes, etc. all these games evolved the genres they are currently in. Do any 2D games do that now? I mean the only game that truly has done that as of late was the recently release Aquaria

(that everyone needs to buy now)

Most 2D Games are nothing but rehases. The Nintendo DS is currently King in the gaming market but most games on it that are 2D are rehashes of SNES games with low production values. Xbox Live Arcade and PSN has low down arcade games that feel more like downloaded flash games. The Saturn on the other hand has 2D games that are superior to pretty much any games on these platforms.

So it's like I said before, in the West the Saturn was pathetic, in Japan it was amazing.

Just how people in this thread refuse to reconize how the Wii has quality games and instead dismiss it for crap.

I think it's really a matter of opinion. Because I'm a sucker for Mario and the old games that I've missed (my NES died long ago...), it's like my wet dream. Super Mario Galaxy is one of my favorite games... ever, and I really enjoyed Zelda. Medal of Honor: Heroes 2 is incredible, and... yeah.

Listen, the reason you'd own a Wii is for next month -- Super Smash Bros. Brawl comes out. And you can't deny that you want it. :P

Anyways... for the Wii bashers out there, I simply say one thing... my grandma played it. I win. :D
