The greatest PS3 innovations:

- $599
- RIIIIDGE RACER!
- Losing Final Fantasy XIII, Tekken 6, GTAIV, Assassin's Creed, Ace Combat, Katamari Damacy, Guitar Hero, WWE vs. RAW, Virtua Fighter, Devil May Cry, etc. etc. as exclusives
- Getting owned in sales
- Mandatory installations

AHUGECAT

The greatest360 innovations:

- RROD
- losing games like Lost planet 2, Mass effect + conviction to the PC. And many more.
- getting owned by the Wii in sales
- online fee

Now ya seewhat happened there?

- Warranty covers that
- All those games were on the 360 first and Splinter Cell isn't even on the PS3
- Wii is in a different market
- Online is worth the money

What market is the Wii covering for? I taught it was a console... I guess I was wrong.

Oh yeah, you should give X360 innotivative feature of $60 a year to unlock online features.

Bebi_vegeta

XBOX LIVE is worth the money.

Right... that's why it's free for the PC.

Online is free for the Wii.

Online is free for the PS3.

Yes, it's really something innovative for the X360.

Yeah, and Wii online and PSN sucks, so I'd rather pay.

So basically free food at the cafeteria is better than paid food at a nice restaurant, right?

AHUGECAT

Lol you're comparing two entirely different things regarding taste. Obviously the paid food is better.

My point is that the play station network can do almost all the stuff the 360 does, and yet you treat it as something from last generation.

Please kid, if you're gonna say something, say something that actually has something to be argued against.

PSN is like the cafeteria food. Yeah, it gets the job done but you can pay for a better thing. PSN takes forever to load, you download more than play, installing demoes is hella annoying. Lack of features, no Netflix. And Xbox Live overall has a larger community. Plus PSN doesn't have Halo 3 or Gears of War or Left 4 Dead.

You obviously fail to see that the whole point of Live is to nickel and dime MORE money from your wallet. Microsoft has put more time and effort into the online service than actually making awesome games, where Sony puts more money into it's developers. Within a year or two, you will see the results. Xbox will be a dried up platform selling Halo and Gears of War mini games.

SO YOU're TELLING ME THAT you pLAY WITH ABOUT A MILLION PEOPLEAT THE SAME TIME, IN EACH GAME? LOl you must be joking. If psn doesnt have the same number of people, or even if it has 1/100000 (example) of the people, i bet you it would be the same experience because you dont play with a million people online. That point about a larger community is hopeless. Plus xbox 360 doesnt have GOW3, warhawk, KZ2, REsistance1+ 2, Uncharrted 1, 2, MAG (256 players online).

You see what im doing there, im just proving you wrong and making ps3 sound better with what your arguing about.

I like the 360, its not a system to hate. But seriously, you argue as if the ps3 is somethign of two generations ago and doesnt even compete with the 360.

Atleast I don't have to pay more to Microsoft for unlocking my multiplayer features.

Not an HD console. If it appeals to the same gamers as the PS3/360, then it would get most of the multiplats, and the multiplats would sell well. Madden, for example, absolutely flopped on the Wii.

Sony is in last place because they were the most expensive, but they are by far the most impressive. You can't deny the awesome lineup of games Sony has coming within the next year and so on, the investment is going to pay off. Microsoft and Nintendo have already peaked and they are on the decline, we still have 5+ years left before next gen consoles.

Again you fail to see my point of the arguement. How much better is the XBL compared to the free psn. NOt much ofa diff. I get to play online, talk with friends, thats all i need. Plus i get free upgrades every once a whle for psn. Its just that you cant admit that the psn is as good as the 360s, and can you answer one thing.

you know how you made the arguement of a larger community.
- who cares:

YOU ARE NOT GONNA PLAY WITH 2 MILLION PEOPLE AT THE SAME TIME.
Both online experiences are the same.

People buy the Wii because it's more fun for them... a console is all about having fun, entertaining them... and the Wii does that perfect for the average gamer.

Trophy syncing takes too long, loading up message box takes too long (should be instant), everything takes so long to load. Installing demoes takes much longer than a minute, and is unnecessary.

Trust me when I say us Xbox 360 owners don't care about Warhawk, Killzone 2, Resistance 2, Uncharted 2 or MAG. This is why we still don't get a PS3 when our Xbox 360 red rings. It's a testament of just how people do not care about the PS3 is when their Xbox 360 breaks down for the 5th time and they still just get a new 360.

Okay, well compare this. Halo 3 has 170,000 people playing online right now, for a 2 year old game. That's more than Killzone 2 has ever seen. That's why Xbox Live is $50 a year.

Downloading things on the 360 is an easy and relaxing experience. With the PS3, it's mandatory, long, unnecessary... Home is the worst offender of this.

The 360 is probably the least innovated main console of all time.

This is HD generation??? Console hardlly even do 1080p...

Let's go with 720p and call this HD era!

So again, we define console generaiton by it's resolution now?

How many of those 170k people do you play at a time. 100000? or something. It seems as if you do.

Now what if i say that us ps3 owners dowt care about your halo's and gears of war. You see, your arguements are all opinions. Sorry. Its ok if you are trapped in your little bubble and cant wait an extra 20 seconds for something. Thats sad, atleast i dont have to pay for online fees, which should really be free since we pay for internet anyways. :P. WMahha you cant win.

Installing demoes takes much longer than a minute, and is unnecessary.

AHUGECAT

Oooooh, I get it.

Downloading things on the 360 is an easy and relaxing experience. With the PS3, it's mandatory, long, unnecessary... Home is the worst offender of this.

That is the most bizarre statement I have ever read on the internet.

Not an HD console. If it appeals to the same gamers as the PS3/360, then it would get most of the multiplats, and the multiplats would sell well. Madden, for example, absolutely flopped on the Wii.

Ribnarak

Oh so now we define a console generation by it's resolution? LOL!!!!!!!!!!

People buy the Wii because it's more fun for them... a console is all about having fun, entertaining them... and the Wii does that perfect for the average gamer.

just dont reply to his arguement about wii not being a part of this gen.

hes being dellusional right now, and i think hes trapped in his own little bubble of halo 3 and pay to pay xbl. He will never realize the reality of things.
No point in replying to hugecat, cough*, the stubborn kid.

Bah, i'll just make him run and run...

This is the HD generation and the Wii is not part of it. Even Nintendo has said this.

This is HD generation??? Console hardlly even do 1080p...

Let's go with 720p and call this HD era!

So again, we define console generaiton by it's resolution now?

Yes.

[QUOTE="-GeordiLaForge-"]The video card is definitely the most innovative in a console, and it's development led to DX10 and DX11 video cards. That alone is quite an accomplishment...ShadowriverUB

Remember that DirectX is only lib, it's nothing hardware related. DX9 card can use some DX11 features. By saying that card support X version of DirectX (Direct3D) it means that everything needed to fully use that version of DirectX and lower, mostly the shader model version support deside that.

It actually is hardware related. Take the advanced tessellation features of DX11 cards for instance. The 3 new pipeline stages are required for the DX11 tessellation features.

A few console innovations because of the Xbox 360:

- Achievements. Gaming without achievements is no longer the same. Yes, they are good
- Wireless controller standard No game system would have ever had it if it weren't for the 360. NOT. I had a wireless controller for my PS2
- Guide button Lol
- Detachable hard drive Once again, other consoles would have done it aswell. Xbox360 just got released first
- Free three year warranty RROD
- RTS, WRPGs and FPS that actually work on a console (incredible) 2 words. Golden. Eye. Not to mention Time Splitters 1 and 2 on the PS2 which was amazing.
- Best controller ever No. Im mainly a PC guy. The Playstation Controller is the best controller ever made. Why do you think it has the same design as the PS1 from the mid 90's? Also ever tried playing a fighting game with the 360's D-Pad?
- Project Natal.... best non-controller ever Okay, i have't heard of that.
- Xbox Live Arcade Okay i'm gonna cover all 5 of the last ones here. Xbox live is made to suck more money out of you. Can't you see that? Yeah it's innovative charging people money to play the games they already paid for online.
- Netflix
- Xbox Live Primetime (ie 1vs100)
- NXE
- XNA
and so much more

Sony keeps trying to catch up but just looks a poor imitation (their triggers for their DS3 are garbage compared to 360's, PSN is a joke compared to LIVE, Resistance and Killzone 2 are nothing compared to Gears/Halo 3, trophies aren't as good as achievements, etc. etc.).

A lot of people like the SNES and PS2... but those weren't really innovative consoles. PS2 especially. PS2 was so outdated it even only included 2 controller ports AND had no ethernet/hard drive!

Your sig is also hilarious. True fanboy. Probably American also. No offensive to other American's, but comeon.

In that case, the original XBox is from this generation, since it was an HD console.

Wii is part of the Xbox generation.

"Miyamoto: We started work on the Wii around the time the GameCube went on sale in 2001. lol seriously hugecat, you believe that since a game has many players on makes xboxlive worth it. Thats just sad since, i dont ever recall playing with a million people at the same time, yet alone 64 on the 360. None of your arguements make sense.

if you believe something is a fact doesn't really make it a fact. You see theres two places, reality which is with the external environment and your thoughts - which occur in your mind.

great to know you have an opinion, but it will never convince anyone with the arguements your making :)

Development of the PS3 started when the PS2 was released. That doesn't make it a console from last generation...
