I never expect anything from Microsoft when it comes to pcgaming and yet somehow they still manage to always dissapoint me :D

Gamescom is a trade show where pcgames dominate everything else, held in germany, a country where pc is the most popular platform. And Microsoft comes there with words of so much support for pcgaming and all they do is "announce" games we’ve known about for months. Bassicaly just boasting "We’ll have them on our app store tooo…and OMG! XBOX ONE!XBOX ONE! XBOX ONE!. Dear PCgamers.did you see XBOX ONE?!!!!!"

THe only new thing was Halo Wars 2 and it doesn't seem all that exciting. It will probably be nice on console, but a RTS designed with consoles in mind probably won't work all that well on PC. In fact..multiplat RTS, Creative Assembly's B-Team, SF setting...I guess this is the second coming of Stormrise? :D

I guess you never played Max Payne. And there wont be no cover option in QB. Its going to play like Max Payne which I am excited for.

I like Mafia 1, and not in a "oh it was a PC exclusive" sort of way, but more so in, it was actually very well done sort of way. Mafia 2 is a shit barrel that has no defense for any of its short comings. Anyone digging that story will tolerate the most generic mobster flick ever if that entertained them.

So in theory they can only get better than Mafia 2, they can't get worse. That's not possible.

Read the feedback forums. Halo wars 2 is massively called for and was a positively received game no matter your assessment of a console RTS. Game is over 80/100 on Meta. Its a meh for me even if BfME2 and Halo Wars are the only RTS games I have finished because I love the source material. Just not my thing I guess.

Well, seemed like a nice opportunity to reveal the game today but they said, they'll reveal it on 5th of August.

Now I see why they're bringing Keyboard and Mouse support for the Xbox One, definitely to give Xbox One owners an even playing field against the PC gamers.

Maybe its because it's such a early build but damn Scalebound looks rough.

I'm not saying it isn't qualified, like I said it's Halo, it'll draw it's money on Xbox.

But as a game it was RTS lite, like real lite. Speaking from what would end up making a more satisfying RTS, the PC has that edge by virtue of that interface. More so than any other type of genre. FPS is one thing, being lite with that can work, but a strategy game that needs to move relatively quickly is a bit of a hassle. Even the mouse and keyboard in the grand scheme isn't a perfect interface for a lot of these type of games, I usually end up changing a lot of my keys to make it work.

As a turn based game ala XCom however, I think you make a compromise that shouldn't really piss anyone off. You get the Halo story which the Halo fanbase liked about that game because they liked that crew and that stuff with harvest, while making a gameplay style that actually works perfectly fine for a gamepad.

Allegedly there is a mouse and keyboard thing being built for the Xbox One, but on some level the game is still going to be tied to a gamepad, I don't think they can take that bet that their fanbase will chalk up for Halo Wars and the mouse and keyboard add on. Especially if Microsoft does the Microsoft thing where they overcharge it.

Fantastic conference. MS absolutely killed it! I was seriously deliberating on whether I should get the PS4 or Xbox One. With it's current library & features, up coming amazing games and features and Xbox Live, I would be a complete moron not to get the Xbox One. I was worried about the power difference between the two consoles, but after viewing today's conference, I am not worried at all. The Xbox One is fully capable of producing equal (or close enough) visual to the PS4. I'm off to order an Xbox One. :)

@jg4xchamp: Oh I agree with you whole heartedly. The fanbase that has clamored for a Halo Wars 2 obviously liked the first a lot and therefore the gamepad control scheme. It will be targeted to wards those people and really, why wouldn't it be? Why wouldn't you make the game for the fans asking for it? That's what I have been saying since E3 regarding MS. They are really listening to and pleasing the fans that use the feedback forums. What could be wrong with that?

My penis will remain standing for the next 5 days having watched Scalebound. Only thing that bothers me is how slow your character attacks. Maybe it's something that will feel better in conjunction as to how slow your dragon is.

One thing's for sure, the soundtrack and boss bottles are gonna rock.

Scalebound looked amazing. the only thing that bothered me was the FPS and movement, other than that the game looked good.

I doubt that is the final speed of the sword combat for some reason. I doubt the devs aren't reading stuff in regards to it. I want to see the riding your dragon gameplay he mentioned. The game looks incredible, is still 16 months away so it will only get better. Man, I cant wait for it.

@chikenfriedrice: I just ordered one on Amazon. I'm super stoked! I'm so glad I decided to watch this conference..... I was so close to making a huge mistake and ordering a PS4. MS has officially won me over.

Mafia 2 was a great game despite its flaws. It's not a bad game, especially 1/10 bad game, lol no. I agree with Gamespot score (8.5). Can't wait for the third one.

Yup. Some polishing definitely needs to happen, but it's not coming soon, so it should be good enough.

it was a cool conference. quantum break, scalebound , just cause 3, dark souls 3 and arc (dinosaur game) were the best games of the show.

a little let down with all the rest. indie games were ehh and rise of the tomb raider demo looked like it was ripped straight from tomb raider definitive edition. i'm pretty sure its going to be a good / decent game, but their 2 demo's were underwhelming.

i must say this xb1/pc & ps4/pc games are not exclusive but it bugs me that they keep mentioning it like they are.

I have a PS4 and I wouldn't call it a mistake ( some good exclusives, eventually ) but yeah I use my X1 a lot more....you won't be disappointed.
