As technology evolves, everything based on technology will be held to a higher standard, but games are continually made to low standards.

I personally think the problem lies with a customer base that is generally ignorant and a lack of creative talent in the industry. I think more creative people try to go into film making or something while gaming gets all the washouts.

For action games.. sure... But for the most part last generation had way more variety, and imagination. We get racers, shooters, wrpgs, rhytm for a breif period.. and some open world games, and thats pretty much it. last generation had several great games from every genre you could possibly imagine. especially on the ps2.

especially when developers completely seem to lack the slightest effort in innovation, and Im looking at EA, Microsoft , Nintendo and Activision when I say that.

Sonys first party developers and a few third parties are the last standing bulwark of honest thrive for creativity and innovation.

I feel the same way. Game developers sugar coat their games with super realistic graphics and special effects to cover up the mundane gameplay. It's becoming the same repetitive story with most games and I'm sick of it.

Whenever I play these games, everything is so predictable and I find absolutely no amusement because everything is so scripted and linear.
