Its because its in the mode were you can upgrade your gun, thats why hes holding it funny, everything but the gun is blurred so the gun stands out more.

You would be wrong. Most of us have already upgraded are rigs to run crysis at max in DX10. Getting a Q6600, P35 mobo, and eithera 8800GTS/HD2900XT. Just got my sweet sweet monitor today. Your just jealous you have nothing coming that is even comparible with crysis.

Thats not point. I could play it the way its intended. But not everyone will be able. so to bring the hype is kinda shallow because its not going to be everyones experience.

Gaming PC play games with everything on. Most PC won't.

that's the problem with having loyalty towards one platform - you miss out on the good games for the platform(s) you're too stupid to consider buying. i think pc's suffer from this condition more than consoles because they also have to deal with needing to be constantly upgraded to keep up with the increasing complexity of games. that's what scares me - and persumeably many others - off pc gaming. that and i'm not an fps or strategy (let's face it, the pc is drowning in these titles)game fan so feel there's no point in trying to get into pc gaming as the games i want to play are available on the much more straightforward consoles

whether it's correct or not i think that's the common (mis)conception and what makes people avoid pcs for gaming unless you know what you're doing and are able to open up a pc, take stuff out andput newer stuff in with confidence. as for pc game selection, personally i enjoy racing, football (soccer if you're american), japanesestyle rpgs and adventure games. now correct me if i'm wrong but the last time i checked there were many many more of these types of games available for consoles and the one's available for pc were ports of the console games (prince of persia, gta, final fantasy, pro evolution soccer).

i think the reason why there's so many fps's, strategy and mmorpgs for pc is because they're better to control using a keyboard and mous.

Crysis reminds me that Far Cry from 3+ years ago looks better than many 360 games today. Pity.

EDIT: And it's obvious that the PC has the largest user-base too because of its online community. PC is the definitive gaming machine. If you pick an online game from 10 years ago up to now, I guarentee there are people playing it online. Hell, even a lot of the demos have lots of people playing. There's a load of baron 360 games with absolutely no one playing online.

i have no idea what that means. i don't want to and also don't feel i could make my own 'gaming rig' and am perfectly happy spending £300 every 5 years on a new console that plugs straight into the back of my telly. i'm not saying pc gaming is wrong and consoles are better. consoles just suit my needs better and if you know and are prepared to open up your pc to put new stuff in to keep it up to date then good for you.

Two reasons I imagine.

Firstly, until we actually play the game it's very hard to quantify how good it's gameplay will be, images are much easier to process and discuss rather than speculation about gameplay.

Secondly, people don't just hype it's graphics. Lots of Hermits talk about Crysis open endedness, it's fully destructible environments, the suit and weapon customisation, the non-linear gameplay, the AI and physics, the consequential gameplay and the MP. It's just that since it looks this good, fanboys tend to attack it for being light on the gameplay, since they've got to have an angle to attack it (ie, the Wii's graphics suck, the 360 breaks all the time, the PS3 costs an arm and a leg).

honestly the information about Crysis - SP, and MP sounds bloody amazing.

There have been loads of hype threads with tons of info. People find it easier to look at screens :P
