But 4k max settings at 60fps for $500 guys!
Yeah, the X1X is a sweet machine for the price, no doubt. But it is a bit funny how easily duped some of these guys were. Was almost like PS3 + teh cell all over again.
Level headed people called this a long time ago, but some people just got caught up in the hype. Really didn't help with Ron dumping misinformation in every thread for months.
Would be cool if this were a lesson learned, but this shit never ends. Expect to see another round of unrealistic dreams being crushed with the PS5 and NextBox as well.
I can't find anything in that review that the xbox one x1 doesn't achieve 1070 performance though, they don't even mention what pc they're using. Heck, the pc version probably doesn't even have hdr.
The framerate and the graphical details answers that question. Take note of those and go watch videos showing a how an actual GTX 1070 performs in NATIVE 4k (no dynamic resolution bs) at near ultra settings.
And if you are interested, there is also a video by santiago-santiago showing the game's performance at 4k using a GTX 1060. Granted that some graphical details had to be toned down a little more than the Xbox ONE X version but you should also consider that it was running on native 4k, if going down a res between 4k and 1440p were possible you could easily achieve the same performance as the Xbox ONE X with similar settings with a GTX 1060. Bottom line is, the Xbox ONE X is no where near a GTX 1070 in performance, anybody with a clue about PC gaming could have told you that. Ron shot himself in the foot with this one. (and Xplode_games and the other guy with the Yoda avatar)
Using a gtx 1070 and an I7 is not a good comparison with the xboxone x when you're comparing framerates. Certain people have said (including myself) that the xboxone x is close to gtx 1070 performance, we didn't say the cpu is the power of an i7.
There's isn't a face off in detail settings here either. A little bit less there, a litte bit less here, but you have to use a looking glass to see the difference with the pc. This is a lot of guesswork, and concluding that the xboxone x doesn't have gtx 1070 performance here is ridiculous. They mention the resolution is already 40 -70 percent higher than the ps4 pro.
There is no hdr on the pc as well, I doubt that comes for free in terms of performance. Heck even if it's just a feature, the pc doesn't have it and you don't need a looking glass to see that difference.
Who cares if its not a fair comparison? do I have to pair a freakin AMD-Athlon II X4 to make the comparison "fair"? why would a PC gamer be obligated to do that? if I can fit an i5 or even an i7 in a $500 biuld then why shouldn't i do it? the lems boasted so much about how the Xbox ONE X is gonna perform on par with high end machines (meaning machines above the $500 mark) with high end GPUs, thats all that matters.
In dreamland someone would pair an Athlon II with a GTX 1070, but here in reality, No bloody PC gamer with a super weak and out dated CPU will pair it with a GTX 1070, anybody with a CPU thats weaker than an i5 2500 would NEVER consider getting a GTX 1070 due to bottleneck. maybe MS shouldn't have picked such a weak CPU in the first place? sure MAYBE the Xbox ONE X's GPU alone is on par with a GTX 1070, but its not alone, its not even a GPU or CPU combo, its an APU, and the benchmark shows what its capable of, simple as that, so whats there to discuss? talking about CPUs and GPUs is purely hypothetical talk, and I already told Ron, I'm only interested in REAL WORLD results, theoretical benchmarks means NOTHING to me, and more importantly, it means nothing to the one buying the product.
MS decided to use an APU setup where the CPU limits the GPU, so whats done is done, and the lems blabbed their mouths when they shouldn't have, so now its open season. Fact is, The frame rates have been shown, Xbox ONE X barely holds non native 4k at 30fps, while a PC with a GTX 1070 can do native 4k at similar settings at 40fps. If anything the Xbobx ONE X is on par with a build that includes a GTX 1060 (which i do very carefully recall telling Ron, but he started blabbering rubbish with his charts after that, as usual) and now the day of reckoning has come, so apologize already Ron, you and the other lemmings.
As for the DF video, they actually mentions that the resolution hovers between 1600p and 1800p, none of which are native 4k (2160p). The details can be compared if you watch other videos, heer is a video by XPLANE 787 show casing the different graphical settings:
If you watch the videos closely and compare it with the DF video (special attention to the shadow) you can deduce that the Xbox ONE X's settings hovers between medium and high. and given how the game is taxing on the CPU I'm willing to bet that its mostly on the medium settings, not that it matters, even if its on High, a GTX 1070 can do 30fps at native 4k at settings hovering between High and Ultra, that should give you a clear idea of the Xbox ONE X's claim of having near GTX 1070 performance (that is to say, no where near at all).
