To all the 360 fanboys-- Would you have baught the console when it came out if they told you there was a 33% that your console would die? Would you accept that from any other console? From any other product? i wouldn't!! So Why do you? Why do let Micro$haft get away with this **** Or is it because most of you are young and had your parents buy you the console and that is what you are stuck with until you get a job?.I would never of baught a Sega Genesis in 1990 if it had 33% death, so why buy a 360 with that failure chance.?

Would you buy a car from a salesman if they told you, oh its a great car, but you know there is a small, cough..33%..cough..chane of the breaks failing when you drive it. I wouldn't touh the car, that type of thing would cause millions of a injuries and lawsuits! Now I realize an xbox is not a car, but still you get my point. Why even bother when there is that chance? It doesn't make any sense. No one would buy anything with that failure rate..which is why ms didn't do a recall which is what any car manufacturer would of done. Instead they let the product ship ,and then just let consumers find out on their, own...does this sound like good business for the customer? No way, it sounds to me like its MS just trying to maximize on profit for a screw up....its horrible business...and any other company would of been linched, and no longer in business.

So why do you let it happen? Would you take that from SEga back in the day, Nintendo, Sony....hell no...so why MS? it can't be because of master cheif? Give me a break...Gear of war? the game ain't that good to buy a product with a failure rating attached. In fact before the 360 no console even had a failure rating...the 360 is the first console to have one. Before this such things would be in accusable. Why do you let ms do this? WHY????

It has the best games and online service for a console. That's why. I can deal with a three year warranty too.

1) I play games that I like. 360 had the most I like.
2) RROD isn't that big of a deal! I've never RROD, none of my friends have, and it only happens to a few consoles once every couple years.
3) BUY A WARRANTY! I always do with electronics. It's a simple matter of taking it to the store, and gettings a new one free in an hour. This 2 weeks thing is BS.

I have both the PS3 and the 360. I have close to 40 games for the 360 and only 6 games for the PS3. A much better lineup is available on the 360 compared to the PS3. There is also a 3 year warranty for the 360, which is unprecedented in the gaming industry. Even the PS2's failure rate never prompted them to have this kind of warranty. Microsoft is standing behind their product, even though most of the Sony fan's swear they are not. The 360 is standing up to the "super computer" that is the PS3, and doing very well. With all the hype about how great the PS3 was going to be, the 360 is not only holding it's own, I have yet to see the PS3 out do the 360 save for MGS4. Even that though, IMO, is a close second to gears!!!! Maybe you should be asking why would any one NOT want to buy a 360, especially this fall when the jasper chip set will be coming out.

P.S. Live just flat out owns PSn!

Yes.

I was late in buying a PS2, and i was fully aware of the DRE problem (a few friends had suffered) but i bought one anyway. Yeah, after a year and a few months, mine did break so i went out and bought another. Great thing with the 360 is that when it did RROD a few months back, i got it replaced free by M$ within around 3 weeks.

why live when ur just gonna die? well, think of it this way. It's not something to do with living. We're talking about a console ffs. I dunno why ppl deny the fact that rrod is unacceptable. Would you want to have your hdtv die on you after a year? Would you want to have your brand new sound system die on you after half a year? Ppl have to agree that the 360's reliability is below these standards.

360 has great games but why are you guys defending a flaw in the design of the actual console?

For a while there, the failure rate on the 360 DID make me incredibly hesitant to buy the system. I eventually did some research, and settled on the Halo 3 edition console believing that the Falcon chip had effectively ended the problem of RROD. From what I understand they haven't completely nullified the problem, but I DO believe, contrary to the belief of many Sony die-hards, that it enjoys a drastically lower failure rate than the normal 360 SKUs.

That being said, it was ultimately the game lineup that swayed me. Failure rate or no, it's a great machine with a better lineup than the competition.

1. 33% failure rate is B.S.
2. Of course if the problem was known when the system was launched things would have been different
3. I would still buy something I wanted as long as the chances of it failing on me were relatively low, and they would fix it for FREE if it did break. Which is the case for 360's

We are not, by any means, denying that RROD happens. But is a few weeks out, for maybe 16% of the consoles, too much to enjoy the best games available for a console. Especially when it costs nothing to send it in to get it fixed for those unlucky enough to have suffered RROD? I have had it once, and my nephew has had it once. We both have had the consoles for almost 3 years now. We both have played countless hours on live, and off Live. There is no way I would exchange the time I have had playing games with my nephew, Who by the way lives over 100 miles away, For a failure that is covered by Microsoft. The real point should be, why do we as gaming enthusiasts have to defend our purchase for a console to people who have never even experienced it, or want to justify thier purchase for another console in thier own minds?

before the 360 no console even had a failure rating? I find this hillarious and shows that you have no idea what you're talking about for a lot of your post. As for the high failure rating, yes It does have one and I originally bought one the day it was released. Since then I've had one die, bought another, and got the original fixed. Only 1 of mine has died thus far and that was the first one.And I bought it because I owned an XBox.

Yeah you know it is annoying when your 360 goes down, its a month sometimes more where you just can't play video games whilst they are fixing it. It happens does happen and happens often. Its a really serious issue i can't believe microsoft simply doesn't change the design of the 360 to fix this

Actually you are right, every 360 has a chance of getting RROD. RROD is a general hardware failure. Any part of the motherboard that fails, because of heat or breaks because of an impact, etc. will cause an RROD. And still its only at 16% according to certain on-line warranty sites. No one except Microsoft knows the real failure rate for a number of possible problems that can happen inside the box. Yet they still cover the problems with a 3 year warranty that costs the consumer nothing but a few weeks out of thier gaming lives. Whats the big deal when it is covered. And it's done in a few weeks compared to the hours and years of gaming. Yes, I will be there when Microsoft releases thier next console, as i will be when Sony releases thiers.

Most fanboy rants about the 360 are based on 2005 information. 360 failure has dropped dramatically. hardware defects still exist, but not as major as complete system death.

Get with the times dude.

I have 2 360's and have never gotten RRoD.

And the chance of it happening now with the newer systems is pretty slim.

So get with the times and stop propagating a stereo type..
