I found playing through the campaign is not all that interesting/satisfying the 2nd time. On the other hand, it has really good replay value in another way. It's fun to just pick out a save point at random depending on the area you feel like playing and then completing an objective. The free-roaming sandbox nature of it and realistic graphics are it's strengths.

Crysis definitely deserved its 9.5. I prefer STALKER overall, though.

I personally loved Crysis, probably my favourite FPS of this generation. I didn't really take notice of it at first, just crossed it off as another FPS I'll play once and never touch again. I eventually bought it and instantly regret not trying it on release.

Crysis was decent.It kind of turned into a linear FPS half way through, and the alien gravity level was boring.

The whole turning invisible thing made the game too easy also.

If people are going to criticise Crysis they should at least provide better examples, don't simply state you think X is better; explain why in a manner others can relate to.

This is a good example on explaining why X game is better than X game.

I don't mind people criticising Crysis as long as the criticism is legitimate, not opinionated bashing because it's on a "enemy" platform.

I liked crysis alot and besides the horrible vtol level the game was great

Funny I can play it on HIGH at a steady framerate.... and I think the game isa big piece of **** wrapped in pretty paper with a ribbon tied around it.....

If anything you proved how good Crysis's design is, due to the sheer lack of your ability to come up with a decent reason otherwise.

Fun is subjective, you can have fun with a ball and cup more so than any game created - difference is the ball and cups complexity, design and quality is not near that of a modern video game - remove the subjective 'fun' and then you have a proper objective comparison.

Hell would freeze over before geting an objective argument out of you, so it seems.

So your opinion doesn't count for anything as far as the topic goes.

Because you hating the game isn't making isn't diminishing its quality.

It's making it even better.

Elaborate =/= restate what you just said. You made a point about how Crysis has nothing but good graphics, and still havn't actually explained what it didn't have, which is actually what you were asked to do. It's incredibly annoying when you ask someone to justify their argument and instead they just restate the same points they just made. So far your only justification is that the world isn't entirely destroyable, and considering you never mentioned any other flaws it's quite easy to presume you havn't even played it based on that.

1) All of the guns/equipment as well as weapon attachments make 140 possible combination (using every single attachment on every single gun 1 time each)... then you factor in the fact that 1: Not all guns take attachments (which removes a few from that number) and 2: The fact that you don't have to have all of the attachments on at the same time... you can mix and match which makes 500+ combinations (on the weapons with 4 attachments)...

2) I have been playing Crysis and Warhead since release... Every game I ever join is full... there are always plenty of people on... Most other games I play on PC (besides TF2/CSS) only have 200-300 people on maybe... and games are always underpopulated...

I've own Crysis and I actually enjoyed it. Some of the levels were epic and I love the open environment. I even played it over again many times just to mess around with the AI.

Crysis isn't rubbish. The original was a great game and put the FPS genre in the right direction in terms of its mechanics, but the alien portion was poor, as well as that god awful VTOL level. I also found that the ice portion of the game was very underwhelming since that there was lot of talk about it before release. But all those problems aside it's a very solid title. I also think that Warhead is better than the original. Better alien AI and a better mix of alien and KPA levels. It had a greater focus overall.

I should also add one more thing: For me Crysis isn't most notable for only its design, but it has the best gunplay in any shooter in history. IMO.

Spend enough time on here and you start to think otherwise.

Let's just say I found its visuals to be much better than the gameplay it offered. If you're going to make an FPS game, then you have to give the weapons personality and 'oomph'-factor. The ones in Crysis, for the most part, did not have either of these factors, coming off as generic, uninspired, and weak. Then there's the destruction system. While it's fantastic with trees, with buildings it's a bit of a downer. Everything breaks off into perfect recangular or square segments, even if you hit it with a rocket. That shack simply turns into a pile of rectangular objects. Thirdly, the aliens. I don't know why Crytek seems to think that taking out the human enemies (which you can actually hunt, get reactions from, etc.) and replacing them with dumb monsters/aliens and totally obliterating key components of the gameplay (stealth, intuition) is a good idea. It was unpopular with Far Cry, and it's nupopular with Crysis. We don't want some lame-ass 'plot twist' that takes away the joy of hunting and killing people, dammit. Get a clue. Also, the mountian level. My God, the mountain level. It marked the transition when Crysis went from being a pretty fun game into a cringe-worthy, FPS drop-heavy (seriously, I bet most of you could hear your GPU and CPU cry out in agony when Paradise Lost started) letdown.

Crysis was fun, but it's nowhere near the crown jewel of PC gaming as it was proclaimed to be. A victim of its own hype. I found STALKER to be a better game, overall.

I'd be willing to bet that the majority of people bashing it have never played it. Superb single player and multiplayer. So good that the original Crysis's multiplayer is still played heavily while Crysis Wars has even more players.

People can say what they want but, like CoD, Crysis is a timeless game. It's one of those games you can go back to and still enjoy and play differently than you played the first few times you beat it.

i loved half life 2 and its episodes (only played it on pc), l4d is awesome, but seriously, crysis is one of the most boring fpses i have played. while the graphics were very good, i felt they were uninteresting, games like killzone, half life, mgs and even call of duty 4 i felt were much more visually interesting.
