It was after TR3 (still on PS1) that the series went into decline. Angel of Darkness in the last generation was the real lowpoint, but then when Crystal Dynamics took it over, Legend started taking the series back in the right direction. Though they seemed to also inherit the faulty camera of the old Core days, I sure hope they overhauled that with this new game.

Don't get all the excitement over TR games as of late.

Even in the PS1 glory area Lara was not really known for her skills, but curves.

hmm, I think it was after Last Revelation that they started to decline, I loved Last Revelation :P

Looks like Tomb Raider meets The Descent movie + Silent Hill or something like that. :P

Looks like it actually may be good. Instead of another boring platformer.

The Tomb Raider games and the Uncharted games have a different focus. TR places heavier emphasis on the exploration and acrobatic platforming, Uncharted leans more towards hollywood action.

Just look at UC2, so many scenes that look straight out of a Michael Bay movie, and they're built around a scripted corridor design. In TR games, Lara has a wider repertoir of moves to navigate her environments and much more puzzle solving in figuring out how to traverse the complex labrynthine settings. Combat is secondary to the puzzle solving platforming nature of the TR games.

One really andearing quality in the Uncharted games is how Drake takes a lot more punishment in the game and you get a sense of his mortality. He suffers and must endure arduous conitions. And from what we've seen in the sneak peek images of the reboot, it looks like Lara will be much more humanized and vulnerable in similar fashion. The danger will have a much stronger sense of actual danger, creating that atmosphere of tangible consequences.

I enjoyed Legends but UC1 had me more hooked however. The combat (albeit annoying towards the end) was more satisfying but Legends had better platforming.:)

Underworld on the other hand pissed me off.:x I really didn't enjoy Underworld, it felt completely rushed and it just disappointed me.:(

EDIT: However I have a soft spot for Lara and the game wasn't "ALL" bad. I gave it a 7.0 and I stand by it.:) Lara looked sexier than ever and that's a serious plus in my book.:)

I ment to say U1 was only spectacular compared to the recent Tomb raiders.

Compared to the other good games of that year it was meh.

i'm with you on this one, but propably because Tomb Raider is a bigger brand, so they hope to make decent profits...

Finally... a decent looking Lara. Definitely interested now.
