Have you played Star Ocean?

I mean Star Ocean the first game which actually did come out on SNES.

If you did play the game, you would know why that game is often on the list of one of the best RPGs of all time. It was quite revolutionary at that time with the presentation and battle system with unique decision making that allows you to recruit different characters.

Your a hugh shin megami tensei fan ^_^ Unfortunately no matter how many times these lists are created everyone is different, my list would be entirely a psone lineup considering I think modern rpgs are lifeless.Zenkuso

All this time I really hated Enix and I forgot they made Star Ocean 1 and 2 loljasonharris48

Have you played Star Ocean?

I mean Star Ocean the first game which actually did come out on SNES.

If you did play the game, you would know why that game is often on the list of one of the best RPGs of all time. It was quite revolutionary at that time with the presentation and battle system with unique decision making that allows you to recruit different characters.

I know all that and it was very mehhhh at best even until the end... Second Story is even worst, your skills are useless in comparaison of the first one. You could wander around and be buying the same swords in shops, but in the original, you were forging secret weapons.

In my book, Star Ocean is by far not what you are saying. I got Second Story here, got far enought to not want to continu... (about 40 hours)

As for Final Fantasy 8, I'll be ok with you putting that in top 10 as long as you consider first disc was the only disc that was ever released.

Yeah, I consider them a team under Enix so I just bundle them as Enix as long as Enix publishes them :P

I would put in Chrono Trigger over FFIX, and FFVIII over FFIX as well. FFIX's development system was just not nearly as innovative or malleable as draw/junction. The story in FFVIII also seems better than the nostalgic throw back. They ruined the limit break system with trance. And Triple Triad trumps Tetra Master imho.

How do you guys feel about the Tales of..series I've most of the U.S releases but I was only able to get into the gamecube title Tales of Symphonia which was only decent to me IMO.jasonharris48

except for the SNES ones, I really hate them.

I hate the combat system because it is just an half arsed combat system but seems unique just because it is used in RPG title, and very often the story falls flat.

I would say most are good, albeit I would not recommend Tales of Legendia, which would be one of the worst I've ever played.

So3 was alright, but I got to the end when my memory card went missing. I'm sorry I couldn't stand FFX-2. Rehased world, pore pacing and polish, and just too cartoony for my tastes.

I was let down by the rehashing of the world, but in all honesty it's supposed to be a follow up to a game we've already experienced. If it was too different it would have felt odd too.

The pacing was different since you could essentially go anywhere, but that's kind of what I enjoyed was the change in pacing. PlusI enjoyed the development system.

It was a sarcastic post, full of games that many JRPG fanswould stick their noses up to.

I've played and enjoyed most of them though, despite their flaws. And3 of those are ones I would put in my top lists of JRPGs for the PS2.

People expected too much from Final Fantasy X-2

It was fan service. The game tried so hard to be not taken so seriously but people still take it too seriously.

I loved X-2 because it provided exactly what it promised. Light hearted quirky fun with plenty of fan service using dress sphere. Moe element to the max.

I disagree 100%.

I considerFFIV to be one of the worst FF titles (not that it's bad). No other FF leads you by the hand like IV. No other FF shoe horns you into cookie cutter development system (that lacks any choices), that is actually just a back ground development system for almost allthe rest of the FF franchise.

Sorry but the jump in plot telling just isn't enough for me with that title (which was it's only star feature over the past iterations).
