Why is everyone exluding Tactical RPGS? They can also be JRPGS

I know I may get hate for these, but some other RPGS from this Gen that I really enjoyed were:

I know most of these are bad games but for me they were stupid fun. Kinda like watching an entertaining B movie.

I HAVE NOT played TONS like a lot of JPRG nuts have

9. Skies of Arcadia (or so I remember :P)

The lack of Vagrant Story mentioning is disturbing. A top 10 without it is highly mediocre.

Human-after-all

People can have differing opinions. I have Vagrant Story and can't even beat it. It's just incredibly boring and dungeon crawling and IMO lack of story (almost all story consists of short flashbacks). Not my style. I will say, however, that it had the best combat system I had ever seen back in the day. Honestly, I still think it rates as one of the best combat systems all time. I can also see where people could like Vagrant Story. It's very gritty and definitely creates an atmosphere unlike most games I've played. Basically, I'm not saying it's a bad game, but it just isn't my cup of tea and was a temendous letdown for me at the time.

For my list, I'm just gonna leave out the obvious series such as FF, Chrono, Pokemon, etc etc.

I'm sure I forgot one or two games that I really like. I guess I could include FFVII too, but I'm not sure I like it that much. As you can see I'm a big fan of the 16-bit RPG's. I hardly ever play RPG's nowadays if it isn't a good oldie. There are also some RPG's on the PS1 I never played and should go back and play, Star Ocean 2 and Xenogears for example, although Xenogears never interested me that much.

Sure I do, whatever little I've played of them. The problem is that I just haven't played them enough to pass any judgement on them yet. This shouldn't really be surprising, considering how niche the Ys series, and Nihon Falcom games in general, are in the Western world.
