What about the human reaper looking like a giant Terminator? Can you explain that?

And while you're writting that big wall of text don't you see how contrived and non sensical this game's plot is? If bioware can't find decent writers WHY NOT KEEP THINGS SIMPLE!?

They'll explain that in Mass Effect 3 no doubt. It was there to build hype and excitement, and to segway into the next game. Obviously the Reapers are trying something different.

All this was explained in the game, so i'd say the writing on it is quite sensical.

It seems you got confused, made this thread, and multiple people owned you.

Everything I quoted and wrote makes sense, and is explained within the game.

Regardless that the one on the left has brown lights, and the one on the right blue lights, they all look like giant bugs. So if you expect me to beilve that every dominant species in the galaxy for the last 25 million years were a bug, thats not a real proof.

Revan_911
Thinking about the Asari reproduction methodology is enough to completely demolish your argument. Like the proposed method of Reaper reproduction, the Asari mate with thousands of different types of creatures, and have the ability to look like the creatures from their own perspectives. At the same time, when an Asari mates with another creature they don't necessarily change into that creature. They all share the same bodily structures, despite having different ancestors. Why should we believe that the Reapers are anything different?

Oh my god. It just doesn't end. Their a space only species. In high low gravity areas their body shape is the most logical form. That's why squid, octopuses, cuttlefish have their form in water. What use is legs if you only in space and you are always floating?

All we can do is speculate. We do not know very much about the Reapers. What is their motivation? Why are they making a new kind of Reaper? All will be explained in ME3. We also don't know how many there are and we don't know how many species they've assimilated. But so far we do know they they had made thesame structure of Reapers until now.

You're out of arguments and now you're trying to appeal to me in a somewhat calmer manner. I think you should just give up as we've shot your argument into pieces.

The series is unfinished, so they're not gonna tie off every plot thread yet. They introduced something new and unique in order to spur interest in the next game.

Ok, I'm getting tired of you referring to unanswered questions as plot holes. That is not what a plot hole is in literature. A plot hole is not merely an unexplained phenomenon. A plot hole in a story is when something clashes with another part of the canon unexplainable. For instance, in Silent Hill 2 Pyramid Head is presented as James' own torment. Yet he suddenly appears in Silent Hill 5 inexplicably. THAT is a plot hole. Not a mere unexplained part of a story. That would be a cliffhanger.

You're trying way too hard. I don't even have a 360 or decent gaming PC and I would really like to play this game. Your threads are getting obnoxious, start a blog about how you hate ME2 without playing it so we don't have to see it on our front page every day.

LOL,truth be told,he already posted proof.

lol, that wasnt proof, i could easily find a pic like that on neogaf forums. We need a pic of his game case, with is Gamespot username beside it, otherwise we have to assume it is photoshopped, you know how these forums work, people shop photos all the time here.

Yeah,I guess you have a point there:D

No. The take the most advanced spices, grind them up and make a reaper version of them. How hard is it to imagine a human with cuttlefish body instead of legs? And why would they need legs if they only stay in space and how are they like transformers?

No it's not. Ill bet my right arm that no one will even mention the giant terminator in the third game. The Cliffhanger was the fleet of reapers coming our way. And i bet there will be some completely idiotic way to deal with them like opening a black hole or some ancient prophecy or something.

It was a major plot point in the entire game; the abudcting of humans for purposes unknown. We never got a straight answer as to WHY they were abducting. Yeah, they were
building Optimus Prime
, but that doesn't explain why they were.

Icarian

Not that I want to play Devil's Advocate, as the OP has been clearly and summarily pwned.. But yes, it is very possible to judge a trilogy-based story on the devlopment from the first installations. No write in their right mind would want to have two mediocre stories wrapped up by some epic super strong third installation.

From a literary point of view, you tend to want to start off with your second strongest story to entice the audience. The second installation will more often than not be a segway. This tends to make the second installment "soft" to some people. Not that this is really the case with ME2, since the gameplay alone is very amped up from the original. But, the fact remains, a LOT of writers can blow their load on a first installment of a story and be left with incoherent garble for the rest of the series. It does happen.

You don't know what will nbe addressed in the 3rd game, and won't know until release.

Ironically, despite the hate you send ME2's way TC, your rants would really just make people want to play the game more. Note that your not picking a part the key story elements, but miniature details that could be dealt with through background, sub-context or the sequel. . I say keep it up. Your blind hatred is amusing , your attention seeking is just sad but you level out by bringing more exposure to a great game.

Hey i know it's only a video game, but the game threats itself as the most epic thing ever. And i finished both games and was like really? REALLY? My favorite VG story is probably Legacy of Kain, my favorite this gen is The Witcher- but that's based of tomes of books from an acclaimed fantasy writer so you would expect it to be good.

The character interaction in ME2 has nothing to do with the main story. The main story takes about 10% of the game and it still manages not to make sense, and look completely idiotic.

Revan_911
Hey i know it's only a video game, but the game threats itself as the most epic thing ever. And i finished both games and was like really? REALLY? My favorite VG story is probably Legacy of Kain, my favorite this gen is The Witcher- but that's based of tomes of books from an acclaimed fantasy writer so you would expect it to be good.

Well,I will at least agree with you on this one,LoK(withSR2 and Defiance) story was one of the best I experienced as well.
I always wondered how this Alliance made their capitol this alien base that used technology that they didn't understand and also were okay with the keepers that they didn't understand and seems like they didn't want to learn anything about. I know that if it were us our scientists would be all over that alien tech. and i'd hope that our governments wouldn't be stupid enough to make it their home base before we knew what it was and how it worked.UnknownSniper65
The Alliance's main base isn't in the citadel...its some space station ( http://masseffect.wikia.com/wiki/Arcturus_Station ). Humans don't really have much stake in the citadel because they are a new race in the universe as far as ME's lore is concerned.

sorry when i wrote alliance i meant Citadel Council, which made it "the nexus of the galactic community". I know humans there enter the council to recently in ME. but how is it that these other species are willing to just accept all this technology and the keepers without more suspicion. i mean they may know how to use some of the tech but not how they work. they don't really question the mystery of the keepers either deeming their work on the Citadel more important than studying them.
The character interaction in ME2 has nothing to do with the main story. The main story takes about 10% of the game and it still manages not to make sense, and look completely idiotic.Revan_911

We've counteracted all your arguments, and you just gave up. Which means, your opinion doesn't mean much right now, as you couldn't even come close to backing it up

No you didn't...

How so?

You are a stubborn fellow aren't you.

Take solace, that in this thread, you are alone.

Yeah, they did. But you already confirmed that you wouldn't listen. There's a word for that, but I can't think of the word for the life of me.

Strange thing that there´s actually no one agreeing with him in here. I would have expected some haters or hardcore cows to back him up a bit,but not even that...

Yes, you took a screenshot. One Reaper has blue lights and the other brown lights. They still all look like giant bugs.

That's because you have no valid point. Realizing the difference between something that's bad and something that you just don't like would do you a lot of good. You would come off as much less ignorant and stubborn as you do here.

So much denial here. It's not funny.

Read through the whole thread.

Vandalvideo also destroyed your idea of a "plot hole".

I destroyed your point on their only being the same type of reaper, and how come the all looked the same. I quoted the mass effect wiki, along with an explanation of the term "characteristic", and that explained, perfectly why they all looked similar, not the same.

Dreman posted pics of the differences between a couple of the reapers, showing they were not in fact the same.

I found it amusing, but now it's just gone too far.

Remind anybody of this?

MAYBE THEY WILL ADREESS IT IN DA SEQUAL is not destroying my point. And i will gladly be alone in this situation. . When we voted a movie to watch in English class, I'm the only one who suggested we watch Children of Men, but all the other students wanted to watch Beverly HIlls NInja.
